Saints contract expires in 2026, for there to be an option to buy for Verona, Saints must have an option to extend his contract if Vetona do want to buy so he can be sold next summer or he'd just leave for free and we'd miss out selling him.

 

Doesn't look too enamoured with being there - think there are worse places to have to live and work for 8 months.

Just hope his attitude doesn't stink their place out too, and we have to welcome him back.

If it doesn't work out and Verona don't trigger their option, we could not use our extend contract clause and release him on 30th June 2026. So he wouldn't come back.

True; though of course Verona will know this and, even if his loan works out well, only offer him a contract once we've released him on a free.

There could be things written into the loan deal contract that prevent that circumvention from happening and encourage them to buy him.

There's not a chance on earth theyd pay 7M, and also we're not extending that contract.
