Started brightly, Villa came back into it, much sharper and crisper passing than us. We've started giving it away too easily. Am in the Itchen so can't comment on the offside. Got 1-0 written all over it but both sides have plenty of errors in them

Spot on.

Probably because we’re still the same team that played the first half of the season when we were poor then.

No new additions playing, nothing new up front, is it any surprise that Che and Adam Armstrong haven’t turned into goal machines, they’re still not good enough for us, but the board have sat on it for most of January now too and the games we need to win/are winnable against teams around us  are becoming fewer before the big teams come calling.

Yes, who thought that the addition of two players in the transfer window would would turn Adams and Armstrong into silk purses?

Man.

Seriously didn’t make any changes at half-time? ffs.

No Willy, no Alcaraz, No Orsic, No Mara.

Must have been quite happy with our abysmal first half, destined to lose this - Must be the Southampton managers’ way to be reactive to us going 1-0 down and not proactive being overrun at 0-0 😩

Must be. Other teams seem to throw their new players in and often they make an immediate impact. We always let ours cool off on the bench.

For a player like Orsic, who has been a starter all season, it makes even less sense. We're leaving him out to lose his match sharpness before we chuck him in.

I'm not sure about that. He's done a couple of really good things so far since HT. Really good work just now but the through-ball was just too close to the defender. Had the right idea though.

In fairness he dis his best two things right after I posted that. Next up, Che Adams, guy needs to come off, having a mare!
