macca155 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Of course he could of course just have been ill. We're all so suspicious these days that we're bound to read more into things. He's always struck me as a decent pro, so I doubt he'd pull a stunt just before ko. He's a decent player I wouldn't write him off too quickly. Nevertheless he clearly doesn't suit Still's system, and it really wouldn't surprise me if he goes off on loan somewhere. Maybe to make room for Sesay if required. Didn't Edwards play CDM at one point. He could be emergency cover.

In our worst ever season, he downed tools and wanted out. Yeah, cheers. This entirely. He’s one of those players that is accomplished at this level but not at Premier League; but his attitude last season casts a very big shadow over him. He strikes me as someone who wants to go but is probably not kicking up as much of a fuss as others, he must be aware he isn’t good enough for the next level. 😂
Osvaldorama Posted yesterday at 15:41 Posted yesterday at 15:41 Wtf has happened to him? Thought he was really poor again today. He looked so good when he first signed, but he just gives it away constantly now 1

He's now expected to move the ball forward and drive a little more, but he's as passive as he ever was. It shows up more because he's alongside a sitter, he's not the 'sitter' himself anymore. We need a CM to drive forward. Last season Stu and to a degree Aribo did that, but Charles and Downes together is just pure nothingness. It's one of the other, and I'm sorry to say Flynn, it's not you. Take 10-15m in Jan and be done with him. 8

saintant Posted yesterday at 17:12 Posted yesterday at 17:12 Think we should have tried to offload him in the transfer window. Always strikes me as a squad disrupter and he's really pretty average/poor in midfield. 1
sockeye Posted yesterday at 17:25 Posted yesterday at 17:25 He should have gone in January after his spat with Juric - his heart’s not in it and his football is turgid. 2

Yeah I think Juric probably pulled him up on his attitude and he didn't like it. He's only ever been a system player but under Martin he seemed well up for every game. Since his bestie left I've seen very little commitment at all. 2
LGTL Posted yesterday at 19:52 Posted yesterday at 19:52 It was obvious that Downes and Charles wouldn’t work when they played together at Bristol City. Need to break this pairing up.

We don’t need any more than that, you’d think Jander will eventually replace Downes on current form. 3
spyinthesky Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Really disappointed in Downes performance so far this season. Two seasons ago he was a very decent midfield player for us. So far this season his performances have been very disappointing and includes the obligatory yellow card. Hopefully Lander will fit in nicely in midfield and perhaps Aribo will be given another shot. Not the greatest fan of Aribo but taking into account Downes poor form, I wouldnt be averse to see Aribo taking Downes place in a three man midfield along with Charles and Lander.
sledger Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago you only need look at downes face when he was subbed off,it said why the uck am i the one coming off, west ham saw through him and now we are, cant all be wrong.
