it was awful

It truly was, looked like a biscuit wrapper. Frankly it would be fucking nuts in the 1976 anniversary season not to have a traditional iconic yellow and blue away kit. You know, the one we won our only major trophy in during our 139 year history!  You'd bet on the SFC commercial crew brains trust to do just that!

With the 79 League Cup we played two major finals in that specific kit and the 2003 FA Cup Final kit was a tribute to it. But decisions that supporters would make without hesitation are not creative enough for marketing people. No let's replicate a kit no one liked the first time round. I am worried that the next home design will be based on the Steve Zodiac abomination from our centenary season of 85/86.

FFS, no !

One of our worst home kits ever in my view.

Even worse that it was our centenary season. What were they thinking ? Easy option to delve back to the past for the sash, halves or quarters, then they come up with that mess.

Not a fan of ‘GARMIN’ being vertical not horizontal on the sleeve, looks a bid odd to me. Otherwise a decent brand and simple text logo is better than most sleeve sponsors.

Missed '76, but I was at the League Cup final in 79 with the old man to see the beautiful Admiral classic in top level action.  Have always though the traditional strip our best away kits - the marketing drones are missing a trick, with a tweak enough 'creativity' for most Saints fans. Agree the zodiac centenary Arsenal nonsense was an abomination!

People also forget that the Admiral classic appeared in another cup final FA Cup final in late 79, when Rod Turner scored a late winner for the Saints against a formidable Leicester Forest side - something the inbreds down the M27 never mention. As far as I know Rod Turner is the only man to win an FA Cup winners medal and Golden Globe!

That winning team was I believe Windsor FC. This still is from a previous round that was filmed at our away game at Ipswich. I actually saw the film at the Savoy cinema in Nottingham

Works in cycling, but surely up the other way? Weird!

I've been wondering who the sleeve sponsor would be.

I had Draper Tools on our sweepstake so imagine how I feel. Gutted.

Having a sleeve sponsor like Garmin is a real statement of intent

With Garmin as our sponsor we'll be sure to find the back of the net.

They’ll find other waze to cock it up!

BORING

We should get Schlumberger in as a sponsor...

The Garmin sleeve doesn't look too bad I don't think.  It's a bit jarring how much space it takes up, but at least it's not a big coloured sticker like the last few years (admittedly a low benchmark to clear).

One thing that did pass me by in the original announcement was that as well as training kit, Midnite are on the back of the shirt and shorts.  Didn't think the shirt back logo looked great at the Eastleigh game.  Seemed too high up as was pretty close to the bottom of the number, and it was black which is inconsistent with all the other bits on the back being red.

Going dogging? Use Garmin to make sure you find the correct part of the car park! 🫡

Missed a trick not getting Stan Collymore to model it.

Yeah agree, thought the same re: height. It needs lowering because it's way too close to the number. I'm guessing they've done that so the logo can't be obscured if a player tucks their shirt in

Better than that pink abomination last year

Agree. The shirt is pretty loud in isolation, but as a full kit laid out, it looks pretty nice and I think it'll look good from the stands/on TV as well

It annoys me that they refer to the original as "iconic". It absolutely was not iconic.

Why not just have stripes fully on the back?

so you can work out which way Will Smallbone is facing.

I love how the club is being so secret squirrel with the reveal but it's already available on DHGate.... 🤣https://postimg.cc/Xrrv8MnQ

If anyone has bought this, I think people may know it is a fake...

If you can't be happy about this new away kit then there's not much hope really is there.

Looks really nice and I understand why they go down the route of a plain back.

Still not buying though as I have my retro 90's version from a few years ago. 😅
