Juric (paraphrased) : Downes back in training and there's a chance he could be ready to start the game tomorrow. Will continue to play Dibling 'up front' because he then doesn't have to worry as much about tracking back defensively the higher up the field he plays.

A manager playing to someone's strengths? Now there's a novelty... ;)

I think I'm always going to think of him as No-No Ivan Juric. Every answer in his press conference starts the same - "No No".

And his theme song, assuming we get to win an EPL game with him as Manager, or maybe its safer if I say if we get to score a goals and are, at least temporarily, in the lead in an EPL match,  will surely be the 2 Unlimited "No limit"...:

Listened to his press conference and thought it was like a breath of fresh air. Obviously he has a massive job on his hands to even get us competing but I liked what he said which is an improvement.

And another 'novelty' is that he represents an early out-ball target. That will temper United's attempts to push up and trap us in our own half, and throw everyone forward for set pieces. Keeping someone "high" normally forces the opposition to keep two back - with Dibling it might be three.

Sure the odds are stacked against us, but at least we're doing things to stop stacking the odds against ourselves.

Anyone else just so grateful we’re able to play these amazing clubs? Soccerball fans all over the world would love watch their local team play their favourite English premier league side in their theatre of dreams. We are so lucky. Let go the saints of Southampton!!!

I appreciate that your Hero was unceremoniously booted out and that hurts but that's not a reason to get on Juric's back just yet

Until this season I would be on tenterhooks wondering whether we could snatch a draw or even a win.
This year its a case of limiting the number of goals we concede and wondering if there is the possibility of a consolation goal.

I watched the Swansea game and found it difficult to believe that our side can suddenly transform into a battling Premiership team. We now have a reasonable settled defence but our midfield is paper thin and our attack absolutely useless. I am not reading anything into our win against a terrible Swansea team. I can see nothing but a 4 or 5-0 win for a United side now starting to click.

Point think worth making is we should not expect too much of our current players.  Especially if SR sell KWP or God Forbid Aaron, Tyler, Taylor or Mateus - which are all possible imo were the right offer to come in. 

The squad camp mood, from my understanding, has gone from diehard belief in a failing cause to professional pragmatism. That has got to be an improvement.  Ivan has already shown he has grasped the situation by putting our (probably) three most gifted players together on pitch at same time, in close proximity. And allowed KWP licence to attack more defend less. The  Kameldeen, Mateus, Tyler forward line is clearly an intelligent attempt at making something different happen when we attack. K with his unpredictability/pace and Tyler/Mateus with their raw skill. We should see more shots more on target and with luck more goals. 

The rest of season I see Juric playing 3 centre backs and a mostly defensively solid rest of team set up to stop goals conceded and support those three/four. They are tasked with basically doing whatever it takes to get a goal.  When and if they get knackered then Cameron, TP and Adam get to try. Think Ivan will have got that plan settled in his mind now until end of season, unless an unlikely top technical player but who is a bit past it agrees to join - think along the lines of a Tadic or a Balotelli type player for a last hurrah short term deal.

We still managed to look pretty shite against a poor Swansea with a makeshift defence. 
can’t see past another defeat. Could be heavy too.

Wasn't Llanalla coming back meant to be the top technical player..................past it meant to be that person?

Fair play, great trip that regardless of the results , know a few staying up and doing other games at the weekend making way back to Nottingham for Sunday , might as well make a holiday out of it 👍🏻

I expect a weak team performance and a weak refereeing performance, same as every other week.

United have a few underperforming strikers, so we know what's coming. 

Should be a good battle of the Fernandeseses in the middle, hopefully ours comes out on top.

Did anyone see the Arsenal "corner" given and think... yeah, knowing our fortune, that would've been enough for a goal we scored to be VAR'd.

Yes I think in part that was what was hoped might happen. He IS technically superior to the rest of our lot but his body isn’t , as far as I can judge , unfortunately. Cant tell you how gutted I was first match away at Eastleigh when I basically went hoping to see his debut but he pulled out after the pre match kick around on the pitch. Sadly was a sign of things to come…

Amorim is starting to weed out the rot and is assembling those that have some fight and spirit, that much is clear from their last couple of games. I'd love to be optimistic but can't see any basis for that.
