I don't think any of the 3 relegated sides have been great this weekend but we've all scored goals in the last 5 minutes. The best teams find a way.

Am I missing something with Leicester, they found the money to part ways with RVN and haven't really lost their best players? When did we last finish above them in the league?

Just goes to show how big the gap is from the prem. I agree with you, and yet you would expect all 3 sides to be there or there abouts at the end of the season with minimal trouble.

Leicester, Sheff Utd, West Brom, Coventry and Middlesbrough have all made highly risky, if not outright foolish, managerial choices. It can only play in our favour.

Bit weird. Some of those appointments are no less risky than the appointment we've made.

When you think that the lowest premier league team received £110m in broadcasting rights last year and the first year parachute payment is 55% (ie approx £60m), that's money that teams like Oxford can only dream of. Appreciate Luton have shown parachute payments aren't a guarantee to being there or there abouts, but that gap is getting wider every year.

Really?

Lampard for example has a 100% record of reaching the Championship playoffs with non-parachute payment clubs.

Leicester - Cifuentes did ok with QPR but it wasn't hard to improve on the performances under Ainsworth. He's not at the level Leicester should be looking for.

Shef Utd - got rid of one of their best managers who had them overperforming. Selles pretty unremarkable track record.

West Brom - Mason is unproven. Could be great, could be terrible.

Coventry - ok I forgot Lampard got them to the playoffs last season. Still think he's living off his reputation as a player a bit and benefiting from the work Mark Robins did at the club. He had resources at Derby and should have done better I think. He's probably solid at this level but certainly nothing to fear.

Middlesbrough - Rob Edwards was relegated twice with Luton and sacked by Watford.

Hopefully someone fancies finding that ''Portsmouth lose at home, Southampton win away'' thread. Been a long time.

What is it with Leicester, just lost their keeper and Ndidi and apparently offers are in for El Khannous, Fatuwu and Winks

Not seen them linked with much either

Are they skint or just absolutely bollocksed by PSR ?

They still need to make at least 1 big sale this window to bring themselves back inline with PSR in 'this' financial year, which will then allow them some flexibility in the market. Without 1 or 2 more 'big' sales, they can't move.

Everton won't pay what they want for Fatuwu, so it will probably be El Khannous who leaves as he has a fixed release clause - under £30m I believe.

PSG, with one of Europe's best squads, so far have been schooled by Chelsea in the CWC and now Spurs in the Super Cup thus far. Premier League, greatest League in the world innit.

Watching Birmingham... They attack at speed...and in numbers

I can see why they could well be right up there at the end of the season, as most Championship clubs won't stop them from scoring

Seriously, if Spurs want to drop the Spursy tag, they really need to stop being Spursy.

What is it with players doing a wanky, stuttery, stupid run up when taking a penalty?

After they were banned from stopping and starting during the run up so they have to keep moving some how , doesn't work if you miss the actual goal after the keeper has dived though 😄

A lot of these modern day approaches to penalties are ridiculous. Tiss and Lambo had the right idea, pick your spot, put your foot through the ball and no keeper saves it.

It would have been a penalty?

It was near the halfway line, but the Liverpool player might have been through on goal.

No it was miles from the goal, VAR didn’t intervene because they didn’t think it was a red card offence.

Think as it was so far from goal they didn’t see it as denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity, just a possible goal scoring opportunity.

Surely the game should now be abandoned after a racist comment from the crowd?

Someone getting banned early into the new season.

I would not have been a Liverpool fan racially abusing a player. They are the most specially special fans, who never walk alone.

Seeing Brooks play so well here makes me wish he had any other manager then Martin to work under while here. Let him run into space!

No definitely not.

Seen on the BBC site sports pages earlier.

Scouse not English don’t forget. “Calm down, calm down …”

Or perhaps they’re tourist fans.

Brooks has been properly decent. Much better than the other number 7 on the pitch!

What a goal. Thought he was being a bit selfish there

Love it when it comes off though. That was thrilling.
