I don't think that touched his arm. It shows what I've always said. That TV gives you a false view. Not enough angles in this instance.

They only slowed and zoomed on the one front angle, which is deceptive. The two side angles show it hit his arm then his head. Precisely why we have var, as he'd have gotten away with it in the EFL. You can also see it here, watch the trajectory of the ball and tell me it didn't change direction before it hit his head: https://youtu.be/reQILC9vDLc?si=fAeculsUpMvjoHu3 Edited October 3 by pingpong Added link

Many of us don't argue with the principle of VAR. It's how long decisions take and the fact that in the crowd, we're left in the dark not knowing what's happening. If the authorities can't work out a way to make it more interactive (like cricket and rugby), then I prefer the EFL where it doesn't exist. 3
OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Just seen a corner from Birmingham that went right across the goal and went out for a goal kick...and there was a Brum striker with his arm around the Wrexham goalkeeper. If someone had snuck in on the far post and scored, that goal wouldn't have been disallowed but it should...just like ours on Tuesday night. People said we were lucky but I disagree. Refs have to stop opposition strikers from obstructing goalkeepers... 1
east-stand-nic Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Yet another draw in the Championship. Great chance for us to get up in among it all today, but we simply have to win. With other sides dropping points all the time, we could have ourselves up in around 8th - 11th I figure and probably like 1 point off the play off spots. Looking at the other games today and it is quite possible some more points dropped, I fancy, by WBA at Millwall, Boro might only manage a draw at Pompey, and I reckon Swansea might hold Leicester also. An interesting day ahead, one would hope. 1
bpsaint Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Did anyone watch Bournemouth last night? Up to second in the league, mental really for a club that size. Can’t help but look at us in comparison and be sad that the people running the show are completely incompetent. 3
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Lots of clubs have little flirts with the top of the table. We did a few years ago. Just like us (well, actually, much more so), their little bubble will soon burst and they'll just be no more than a short and insignificant footnote in Premier League history. I imagine the people who run the Premier League probably see them as a bit of an embarrassment for their brand and can't wait to get rid of them at some point. 4

Absolutely. A tin pot stadium, small fanbase and little if any global interest. Turf them out, would be the PL's brand-focused attitude.

Saint NL Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Coventry are looking very good. Top of the league, scoring goals for fun and unbeaten. 2

Why on earth do people post this nonsense? Why would an underdog upsetting the order, disturbing the big teams and making the table closer and more interesting be in any way bad for their brand? 1

And it’s not exactly going well is it MLG. I admire your continued stance over this but one of the guys making “key football decisions” is responsible for the signing of Damion Downs, which says it all. 2 1

Probably something to do with the fact that "big clubs" like Man Utd make significantly more money for the brand, even when they're shit, than the likes of the massively over-achieving Bournemouth. Most Americans and Asians couldn't give a sausage about underdogs disturbing the big teams.

East Kent Saint Posted October 5 Posted October 5 3-1 to Ipswich so far , they did nearly get caught out by some tippy tappy in the box earlier , twats
Hodgey Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Indeed - and if Ipswich win their game in hand (v Blackburn) they’ll be 5 points clear of us (along with Leicester) and they won’t drop too many points. Throw in Coventry who look unstoppable at the moment and you realise the task ahead. 3

SW5 SAINT Posted Saturday at 14:57 Posted Saturday at 14:57 (edited) Dominic Ballard has scored again for Orient in League 1. I'm half expecting Redmond to sign for Luton and bang in a hattrick when we play them. And not only has he been gone years, I've barely heard about him!

Redmond went to Turkey for a good payday and spent a year or two out there. He then went to Burnley but was injured a lot of the time.
