We dont know that for sure. Still has tried a few things already. When was the last time BBD played down the middle?
Saint Scott Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 All the negativity about Arma starting up top, so he's bound to get the first goal. 7/1 on Bet365, you're welcome. 3

Fraser deserves selection. Not sure he deserves being moved backwards in the formation. The head coach seems to see the same game we do. Maybe he watches the matches back afterwards, thus getting our angle/view?
gio1saints Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Wellington gets the nod ahead of Manning. Ryan Manning can feel a bit aggrieved that his performance in the last league match is rewarded by, being put back on the bench. Random thought perhaps but I’d say there’s a very good chance we will see Manning for Wellington at some point - and that Wellington is going to bust a gut for 60 minutes or so working for Jay Robinson.

I agree, I definitely think there's a bench plan in there as well. Would expect to see Manning / Suga / Archer + possibly Dibling even towards the end of the game if we need goals.

Its been a while, but if needs must perhaps he could take his chance and be the focal point up front...you never know he could be resurrected. 3 minutes ago, Chez said: We dont know that for sure. I’m confused - one minute you’re suggesting BBD could be the focal point up front and the next you’re questioning my suggestion that he could do exactly that instead of Armstrong? While he was being played on the wing there would be times when he received the ball, held it up well and lay it off. His huge weakness was getting from the wing into goal scoring positions. Personally I think he’s a clear classic case of ‘square peg in a round hole’.

Could also be saving Manning as a replacement for Robinson in the second half as we are lacking a few options going forward and that’s the only thing Manning is good at anyway.
austsaint Posted August 17 Posted August 17 2 minutes ago, Chez said: Take free kick out and no one would question that decision. It was a superb free kick by Manning, but as you say, Still’s apparent rating of Wellington as first choice LB sits well with me. Manning is proven back up and will undoubtedly be subbed on in the second half.

Midfield_General Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Well there have been plenty saying that Armstrong, Archer and BBD are a perfectly good set of attacking options in the Championship because they've all had seasons where they've scored lots of goals at this level. Looks like today we'll find out if they were right. 4

Wouldn't you prefer Manning to come on for Welington and Dibling to come on for Robinson for fresh legs? Bringing Manning on for Robinson and still having Welington playing is more defensive.

Saint86 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 (edited) Wellington is a liability defensively. Shocking. What the fuck was that through ball pass back. Just clear it FFS. Also, Stephens has already done one 2 armed push on the back of a striker off the ball in the box. Penalty waiting to happen. Edited August 17 by Saint86

St Chalet Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Bollocks. I had hoped the self inflicted wounds from last season would stop.
