Lovely goal from Archer, fair play.

We needed that to shut up the whiners and the moaners. The manager needs time FFS

Got TBH I like the look of this guy. Good positioning, wins headers, gets forward and quite vocal. I can't believe I'm saying this but SR might actually have bought us a decent player. I feel dirty.

Yep, these 3 + macca & Charles have been ok.

Half time stats show Saints commited 10 fouls compared to Norwich's 1.

That seems really one sided in a pretty much friendly game

* Hilarious watching Quarshie planting his feet and Norwich players bouncing off him 😁

* Archer is not blessed with a wide array of talents as footballer; but has a superb snap shot

* Nessie really wants to make that No9 spot his. Having a great game - one assist, and at least two chances missed by millimetres.

* Shay Charles and Ronny Edwards both player of the season for their Championship teams last year but really struggling for consistency so far.

* Maybe Wood ought to start wearing Petr Cech type headgear 😉

It's been a bit shit to be honest, I think we've been the slightly more composed when we've strung a few passes together, but it's been rare.

Wood comes across as thick as shit, like he's not all there. He plays and looks like it. The back 3 just confuses the lot of them too. It's been a bit messy.

Lots of energy from Downes, but no real forward penetration and having Charles and Downes in there slows us down - without someone playing ahead in a 10.

Fraser and Archer have been busy, albeit lacking a sharp enough touch. Archer with a great little finish. Highlight of the first half, feels a bit pre-season friendlyish. As we were though, not enough penetration up top and we're way too slow to build up.

Mads looks our most accomplished player.

Feel like Stewart up top with Archer playing off him works pretty well, hopefully it sticks. Great goal by Archer, hopefully he kicks on from here. Watching a team in yellow give it away at the back still gives me palpitations though, Norwich have been absolutely as comical as us.

Pluses:-

Having 2 attackers capable in the centre, actually allows us to create and score. Who knew?

Fraser worked hard for a spell, but isn't doing that all game.

Mads looked decent, but needs to bed in to see he can raise us and we don't drag him down. 

I saw Downes pass it forward! I did!

Downes and Charles are too similar in the middle. It did begin to look as though it was Downes staying back with Charles moving forward. So that's progress I suppose. 

I see a fair bit of Norwich. For all our ridiculous defending, they are even worse, and have been for years. We worked hard to be as defensively useless for quite a while tonight, before their mess ups allowed us more control of the game, and a goal. Being one up against them is not fantastic. We were a mess at the back, and all those transfers in are still needed. 

Stewart did well for the assist, and has very nearly got on the end of a few. Not sure if the deliveries just haven;t been quite there, or it's a bit of sharpness from him too. But every green shoot is to be nurtured, when it comes to our attack.

Good to see Archer get a goal. Despite poor form of late, it would be super if even one of our existing strikeforce found their confidence and quality again. They have the potential.

Sadly I believe the club ran out of trophies last year. The bulk order was a really good idea, but who would have guessed so many would be needed in such a short space of time.

Decided to suffer it 🙂 Lovely finish from Archer. We should win this but, as the first half showed, we have plenty of stupid mistakes in us. Fraser has looked lively. Downes gave them two chances with misplaced passes. Both sides continually give the ball away.

Other notes:

- RWB looks totally different when someone who knows how is playing it, Roerslav is pushing up onto their full back a lot, just need Manning to do the same.

- Quarshie is the best of a bad 3, think he has to stay in. Yes he's a bit naive sometimes but he wins headers and it's funny watching their players try to wrestle with him and failing miserably.

This is clearly why we signed him, provide some physicality to our powder puff squad and hope we can coach a good footballer out of him.

Unfortunately most of our players are incapable of making a tackle without committing a foul. Drives me mad.
