Blimey that’s a lot of changes!

Not sure about Edwards at RB but I guess gives an option to go 3 or 4. Can see Scienza getting some decent time as he was great at Liverpool and got hooked early. Downs goes from starting to out of the 22.

UTS.

Downs and Roerslev out of the squad completely sends a proper message. I'd like to have seen THB fully out as well, and Aribo or Matsuki on the bench just to give another midfield option.

The lack of RB concerns me a little as it's will need them to get up and assist in midfield which is how Still likes to set up, or did on occasions, at Lens.  But otherwise we'll see if our team is any good with some depth.

Agree. Both were disgusting against Hull/Liverpool and THB can think himself lucky. About time this squad starting sorting them fucking selves out.

I’m assuming that when we’re defending it’s Edwards at RB and going forward it becomes a 3 with Manning pushing on.

I reckon so. AA on the left, but cutting in, and using Manning on the overlap.

Reckon so, with Manning and Fellows providing the width.

This will likely mean manning will leave space behind him

Bloody rough on Jelert & Scienza, on what basis does Fellows and Azaz get ahead of them? They've done F all to warrant a start this week. Why F about with Tuesday night's side Still, you clown. We could have won this if you hadn't meddled now we probably won't.

Boro will know Azaz inside out and exactly how to neutralise him. Fellows is one dimensional, dull and predictable whereas Scienza seems mercurial and capable of moments of magic.

I think they will come on later. Leo in particular when and if Boro have tired a bit.

Criminal to leave him out.

Whacking him around the head with a cricket bat would be criminal... Being left out of the starting 11 of a football team... Less so...

Probably happy leaving Quarshie to cover as he has more pace than Manning anyway!

Fair play to Still, this is what we all said we wanted and the defence earned it Tuesday. Jelert a bit unlucky to be on bench, Downes too though I thought he still played too many backwards passes without thinking.

Only 1 Russ-ball regular left on the pitch! 👏

So after three years and 7 different managers, one of them has finally clocked on to how shit Bazunu is and dropped him.

The fact that I even had to type such a sentence is a criminal indictment of how badly the club has been run in that time.

Quite incredible that AMc could have such a massive howler and yet still win his place.

That's just how bad Baz (and our whole goalkeeping situation is)!

Yep. I’m not confident in either of them. But would go for AMc instead of Baz.

Why not just play Jelert at RB?

Harsh on scienza and Archer in my opinion, but I suppose Stewart is a bit more of an out ball if we need to play long.

True, but it will be fresh in his mind and he'll be a lot more 'safety first' with his distribution today.

Oh and he can actually make saves where Baz….

The decision to play AM makes perfect sense. Other than the disaster pass he made some excellent saves. Saves that, frankly, we are are not used to seeing Gavin make. AM drops passing to the opposition in his own area out of his game and we may stop conceding so many goals to random shots. Good man management imo. Of course if he does  it again today he is dropped forever I guess…

Rumours this week we are battling with Leicester to sign Trafford on loan from January. Dropping Bazunu might support the theory we’ve realised (too late) that he’s not the one. Agree McCarthy is a better shot stopper but he’s not great either tbh.

We need a big performance from Stewart today, he's done nothing since he arrived so today would be a good day to change that.

Agree that Stewart needs to show us something soon otherwise I’d persevere with Downs (after Archer) who needs to gain some confidence

His big chance today!

Cannot complain in the slightest at that line-up in terms of losing the scar tissue. Whether these players are enough to win a game of football we will see in a short while, however it would be fantastic if it’s very obviously the right choices. The disappointment for me is Jelert not getting a start, but otherwise I think Still can be applauded for giving it a go.

COYS!

Want to see him get proper involved. Not seen him put a tackle in since he’s been here let alone a shot of distinction. Or a sprint. Just kick someone anyone and show you are not a walking wounded mate.

Yes, credit to Still, especially for dropping Bazunu

( Hopefully with instructions not to pass it to his feet and piss about at the back)

Looks like a back three and Manning and Fellows are wingbacks?

Yep. 3421. Matching their shape. Fellows trying to peg Targett back, and tracking him when he gets forwards.

So a back 3 with Fellows as wing back then?

Kind of a 3-4-2-1 with Azaz and Arma behind Stewart?

Yep. Exactly that, although Fellows making it a 3 behind Stewart going forwards.
