I need wingers! I need wingers! Get me Fellows and Azaz! There's a hangover here.... we need a fresh start.

Bullshit merchant.

How on earth is Downs a sub! Sorry WS but really ….

Well that's certainly a team. Glad Manning has been dropped but a back five is very irritating. If we fail to win then 5 at the back is also pointless. Azaz not playing is a damming indictment of our transfer business, arguably fellows also.

The transfer business was fine, it’s the manager picking the team I’m concerned about. To be 17th with Boro and WBA’s best players sat on the bench is ludicrous. As many have said though, at least Manning is out.

Normally I'd be pleased to see the back of the International break but not so sure this time. No Stewart and 3 CBs again. Still Welington back is a bonus I guess. Before the season started we'd have put this down as a guaranteed 3 points. Now... God knows.

I miss most of this game as I'm off to work so here's the ever unpredictable prediction wheel.

Come on Saints, prove it wrong.

I've staked my substantial reputation for being right on Jander being our signing of the season, so good to see him in alongside Charles again.

Got offered a free ticket at 0930 this morning and as i only have a 10 minute walk to the stadium i thought it would be rude not to. Attending is more in hope than expectation. The last game i attended was the first game of the season!

Deary me. I look at that lineup and for the life of me I can't even guess what the shape is going to be.

There's some positives there, like Manning being dropped and Jelert coming in on the other side, but it's hard to escape the conclusion that this is yet another desperate tombola draw team selection from WS, who clearly still doesn't have the slightest clue what his best eleven is.

Armstrong and Archer are too similar and neither have enough physical presence, so I can't see that working up top.

THB coming in for Quarshie is questionable. He doesn't have anything like the speed or strength to play the same role so I don't know how the 3 CBs will combine.

Pleased to see Scienza keep his place, but how on earth can a team struggling for goals be leaving players like Fellows, Azaz and Robinson all on the bench. Are we relying on the wing backs to provide width in attack, crossing to two strikers who are both hopeless headers of the ball?

I hate being pessimistic and I really want Still to come good, but this just looks like another total mess, and will likely be followed up by him subbing half the team at some point which will just make it even more disjointed, as he always does.

I'm not sure I even want to watch 😕

Not that hard to have a guess.

Three centre backs, two wingbacks. So probably a 343 formation like we've used for most of the season. With Armstrong and Scienza supporting Archer.

I’ve got to be honest, I don’t think anyone is particularly interested in this ‘random spin wheel’ persona you seem to be going for on every match thread.

Well I enjoy the posts. Sometimes the sardonic humour is the only enjoyment I get on match days, so long may he keep doing it.

Honestly I don't get why people get in such a flap about the formation, it's always a question of how you play more than 'formation' these days. 3-4-3 putting the WB on their full back can be very attacking. 4 at the back with 2 CBs marking 1 central striker can be very negative.

Looking at that team who is the difference maker - we’ve seen Hackney, Fatuwu, Philogene, any number of Cov players own a game and turn draws into wins. Who is that in our squad ? I was hoping it might be Fellows or Azaz but clearly Still doesn’t think so.

I’ll go 1-1 - hoping we aren’t going to aimlessly put high crosses in to 3 midgets - it’s also a very small team so worried about defending set pieces.

Three at the back, three at the front, four in the middle to help out with both. I imagine Welington will be the most attacking and Jelert the least, so plenty of opportunity for Jander and (more likely) Charles to get forward.

It'll be interesting to see how the back three line up. Wood is clearly the best in the air of the three so should be in the middle, the other two are clearly better with the ball at their feet than Wood so should be out wide, but they also both want to be on the right. (Some would say that THB had been finding himself out of position a lot early this season when playing on the right, so stick him on the left and even if his positioning is shit it's just par for the course.)

Having a right-footed LCB - whoever it may be - means he's more interested in playing into midfield than down the line. Instead of long balls down the line or to the striker, Jander can get a chance to get on the ball in midfield.

I would have gone back four but its a very strong team for this level with ridiculous bench options.

No more excuses, must win and start playing with some in possession patterns.

Five st the back in any home game is appalling.

It must be mentally draining for a player to be told we’re going to set up five at the back despite being battered with that formation for two thirds of last season.

If we played like, say, a Nuno Santos style of football I’d be all for it. I’ve seen nothing in a year to suggest we’re even close to that.

We have looked shite all season.

343 is a bit risky, but I think Still feels we need to go for it, so I'm going for a 3-2 win.

Id rather we go attacking with 343 than having two rows of 4 and pass it round our own half.

It’s literally the same formation as it’s been most of the season, not sure it’s that hard to guess.

Archer is literally the only viable option to play up there. We have no physical presence outside of Stewart.

Quarshie is injured, so wouldn’t say it’s a surprise to see THB come in.

I do really wish we could get to a 4-2-3-1 formation, so Fellows Azaz and Scienza can all play, but it still had the same issue in that there is no good option as the ‘1’

Reckon we will be decent for about 30 mins, pump balls down the channels, and lob crosses in.

we will win in a disjointed game because we have a by far superior group of players

Fellows and Azaz already consigned to the bin, Still is an idiot

not as worried about the "back 5"given the volume of chances (according to XG) we've created.

Think archer and armstrong can finish, hopefully scienze and jander provide some bullets along with the wingbacks

So we keep picking azaz who has been pretty shit in his appearances ?.

We have a squad, pick players who look like they are in form and rest others.

Azaz has been shit for Ireland too - not just us. He's not in form right now and Scienza has looked better when he has played.

Not sure we’ve got too many of them.

Pointless putting Fellows on without a big CF to get on the end of crosses…this line-up makes use of the best options across the forward line. Great to see a balanced pair of wing-backs and Manning dropped. Great to see Still putting his faith in McCarthy. THB the best of the CB options. Yes it’s a 5 at home, but it’s an attacking formation that packs the midfield, so I’m happy with it.

COYS!

I’d hope the manager would create a style of play / system to get the best out of our players - Azaz being one of them given his ability in this league
