Lighthouse Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Well f*ck me, here we go again. I reckon we’d probably lose to a team of actual park rangers from Sandringham Estate, so not holding out much hope of anything. 2 2
Turkish Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I got a feeling this is when our season starts. Damion Downs WILL score 17
LGTL Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Can we have Downs as manager and Still as Striker? I genuinely don’t believe we would be any worse off. 9
ErwinK1961 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 If Still is gone for this one, then wouldn’t be surprised to see an upturn in effort - but we’ll still lose. 1
Dr Who? Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) No, I cannot be arsed. This is the lowest I have felt since losing 0-2 at home to Rochdale in League One. The away game was not much better, but at least we got a point and we were heading upwards. Edited November 1 by Dr Who? 2

Osvaldorama Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I think even a Sunday league team could beat us currently. So QPR will cope with us very easily. 2-0 home win.
miltonroad Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Edwards will be incentivised for this one and may actually complete a pass or win a header. Useless twat. It’s a low bar for our defenders but a hair band doesn’t exonerate absolute dross. 1
Football Special Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Best bet of a result is if our fans spend 90 mins breaking off the seats and lobbing them on the pitch to get the game abandoned 4 1
sfc4prem Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Bring a load of lettuces and lob them on the pitch as it tips down with rain. The soaked lettuces would blend in nicely with our bunch and might stand a better chance of preventing the other team from scoring 1
Saint NL Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) Did everyone see the Norwich protest earlier today, at a certain time in the game (19:05 or something) they were supposed to throw tennis balls onto the pitch as protest. Four balls were thrown. Surely we can do better than that Edit: added a picture The state of it 😂 Edited November 1 by Saint NL 1 11

AlexLaw76 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I fully expect 3/5 at the back, fully expect a 30-ish min purple patch, fully expect to be wide open in the middle of the park, and fully expect a non-style of play other than hope Scienza can produce a it of magic Surely...SURELY Still will not be manager...if by some strange situation he is, surely he will play HIS system that he apparently prefers? Their manager came from Ligue 1 also this summer....

Thought they both made some sort of difference. What today showed yet again is that Adam Armstrong is absolutely pathetic upfront. A total non entity. 4

Slow getting the ball forward, if we do not lump it up there. There was a free kick taken by our defenders in the 2nd half. It was lumped up to Armstrong...when he had a CB tight on him, and another attacking the ball. Even in the 2nd half when we were spending my time in their half, it was still lots of sideways passing which allowed them to set 2 lines of a 5 and a 4....No wonder we never look like scoring outside of a moment of individual brilliance or a defensive howler. 1

die Mannyschaft Posted November 1 Posted November 1 QPR 3-0 Saints. Until Saints change the tactics to basic football its a loss each game. XG 0.79 Passes 483 Shots 7 Shots on target 2 Corners 4 all wasted by stupid short pass.

Please stop criticising Armstrong, I very much doubt even he rates himself in that role , always done well alongside a more physically capable forward who can hold the ball up, make space and bring others into play, Armstrong on his own is destined to fail (as is Archer) we all knew that before the season started so surely the decision makers did within the club (don't @ me with Loch Ness Cripple and Downs ) 1 1

He said they weren't great today with heavy home defeat but have shown some decent stuff recently and expect at least a point against us.... Teams are genuinely pleased to be facing us at the moment, "at least we only have Southampton on Wednesday" That's where we are. More than covered my expenses today backing Preston at 4/1 , will.have to check out QPR odds Shame on Sports Republic 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted November 2 Posted November 2 More of the same. 2-1 QPR, although I’m being optimistic that we might actually score a goal.
ant Posted November 2 Posted November 2 This league's schedule is relentless. Can't we go a few bloody days without having to endure another shitty Saints performance? Used to hate international breaks. Now they just seem like sweet relief. 3
OttawaSaint Posted November 2 Posted November 2 What's the point. I'll save everyone the trouble. - teamsheet released 3 CBs - we huff and puff around with the ball create nothing - they score on a weak as piss defensive error/play - subs get thrown on with no thought as to tactics or formation - Still orange stands with hands in pockets - easy goal kills us off - full time THB runs (finally) down the tunnel 2
Pamplemousse Posted November 2 Posted November 2 We'll lose. We should've put everyone from last season up for transfer. There's a reason why nobody wants them.

Andy Hill Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Quite simply - why bother ?? Nothing is going to change in 3 days. 1
Football Special Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Will be interesting to see what our support is like on Wednesday, only 1700 in upper tier, sold out straight away to season ticket holders with 10+ aways so in theory the most loyal fans but also the ones who have sat through the most demoralising performances. I've noticed a section of 50-100 empty seats at most aways that apparently are unused player comps, probably a good idea for them to stay away as I expect a lot of abuse to be directed towards their loved ones out on the pitch, perhaps Nathan Wood will sit up there himself if not in the squad 1
Appy Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If this wasn’t 40 minutes from my front door I’d seriously consider not going. They got pumped by Ipswich yesterday, so they’ll beat us 1 or 2-0. 1
Wade Garrett Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Does anyone actually enjoy this shit any more. Fair play to the supporters that are actually going to this game. It’s fucking hard work supporting Saints these days. Beginning to think it’s just not worth it. Fucking deflated as fuck with it all. The game - who gives a fuck? 10
Dr Who? Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I do have fond memories of QPR away, as it was one of the first away games that I went too. Either this or Chelsea. I remember Ken Monkou scoring against us for Chelsea and I think it was 2-2, but the QPR game was 1-4. We beat Liverpool the week or 2 later 4-1 at home. I just used to love the small compact away end. The picture of Shearer scoring and being held up in the air in that game was used on one of the fanzines that I still have. Now of course it would be crap as I am 36 years older and reminiscing makes things seem much better. 2-0 to QPR. 2

Good was David Hughes bicycle kick in a 2-2 draw under Bally. Sad was playing them the Saturday after their bright young striker Ray Jones was killed in a car accident that week. Won 3-0 but very subdued understandably by everyone. Edited November 2 by Gloucester Saint 2
Baird of the land Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If they still haven’t bit the bullet and sacked him, got to hope QPR to twist the knife some more. 1

Saint Matty 76 Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Quite difficult to put a line-up together without a number of players who I actively can't stand. Rather see somebody new get a chance up top as opposed to what we've seen from the other three. McCarthy Roerslev - All CB's are the same level of average/poor - Manning Downes - Jander Fellows - Scienza - Robinson Oyekunle 7
SoberSaint Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Hate to admit it but it’s getting to the point where you hope for a loss. Otherwise nothing will change! 1

Away games I've been to have very good support, the problem is the football on the pitch is so boring fans just get fed up. No matter how much noise fans generate nothing gets the players running faster or passing quicker forward. Inability to shoot on edge of box gets groans and so boring. We need exciting , direct, fast football not analytics paint drying. 1

Wood has been the one shining light in this hideous season. He at least gives a shit and continues to fight. Eleven of him and we stand a chance. Public bollicking and apologies obviously required, but then get him back on the pitch. If a few entitled fans have hurt feelings tough shit suck it up. I'd put Stephens next to him, for the same reason, and take the football hit. Recall Bazunu just for a bit of end of game fun, plus his distribution really makes a difference. Bazunu Mads Wood Stephens Manning Downes Jander Bragg Azaz Armstrong Scienza I've gone for Bragg to shore up the midfield but that could be Edwards. Give Azaz time to set up some attacks. Complete opposite of Still's philosophy but he won't be here anyway. One instruction 'don't be shit'
