I get people are angry right now, and I'm pretty angry and embarrassed too but I really do think they didn't know the rule (Dressing a scout in an Eastleigh kit can easily be explained as Ipswich wont do any routines if he was in Saints kit would they??).  When this first broke Saints released a statement saying that they would review internal processes and then I thought "Oh cr*p there's a process for doing this, that means it's company policy".  I genuinely don't think the intent was to cheat but they got caught out not knowing the rules.  But in a way this is just as bad as SURELY if you appoint someone that has never been a manager before (especially from another country or league you'd make sure they or someone involved knew and read the rule book??  To not do that it utter stupidity / incompitant

But if you sack people every time a mistake occurs (OK its a pretty big and stupid one), then you never move forward.  This is a pretty hard lesson to learn but if we replace Tonda it will be with someone who doesn't know the team, or players.  We will need to lose players over the winter due to reduced parachute payments / new FFP rules and bringing in a new coaching team would only compound our difficulties over the winter.

You can be absolutely sure that this wouldn't happen again under Tonda and he's still turned this team around once.  If we get rid there's every chance Sports Republic may appoint another Will Still and we'll be in an even worse situation?

I am afraid his position is completely untenable. He should already of walked and now that he has not the club should sack him. The EFL panel would have looked at us a lot more favourably if we had acted immediately.

I don't think he's a man of integrity, to be fair!

If people higher up in the club knew it was going on and didn't challenge him, he'd have a case for unfair dismissal. Might be as simple as this that we haven't sacked him immediately, as need to follow due process.

Does 'unfair dismissal' apply?  They would be freelance no?  So provided they pay the remainder of the contract.

I would imagine anyone higher with knowledge of what he was doing would be out in their ear as well.

Yeah. When Parsons mentioned change, I don't think he was referring to a new slide on the new joiner presentation pack around scouting rules.

The reaction, apparently, from players and staff did not indicate they were willing to rally behind him for next season.

Lose his 3 managers of the month awards?

If we act quickly SR can get in their standard 3 managers in a season award. 🙂

Tonda, and others, have robbed this squad of PL football and a massive pay rise. If he has any kind of conscience and decency he won’t be able to look the players in the eye, let alone manage them next season. His position here is completely untenable, he has to go.

As for not knowing… well I knew it wasn’t allowed, I remember the Bielsa incident and I’ve never worked in professional football in any capacity. That’d be like going to a doctor and him saying, "a headache? Well I’m kind of new here, I’ve never heard of one of those."

Will be extremely disappointing if Tonda (the fraud), along with anyone else involved, are sill part of the SFC come CoP Friday..

Will all be sacked on grounds of gross misconduct surely? No pay off etc

He was an EFL assistant manager after the Leeds incident. To claim he did not know is pure bullshit and gaslighting everyone

Ironically, the team he was the assistant (Barnsley) enjoyed their best little period for many years. 🫠

How can you say this? How can we keep anyone on who has been implicated by this?

I don't care if he didn't know about the rule, I find that hard to believe. What I do care is that his actions have dragged my football club and all of our fans through the mud, into a situation which we will likely not recover from if I'm honest.

This is the sort of scenario which needs a clear the decks approach, there's no other way to tackle it.

And also, the FA will now get involved given the damming evidence of WhatsApp messages. If Tonda has any decency, he'll now walk and we'll probably never hear of him again. The mysterious hungry eyed spying moron.

So many on here warned that appointing another young, inexperienced manager after the Will Still fiasco would only end badly. But I don't think any of us could possibly have predicted it would pan out in such a way.

The end result is the same though. We'll be starting next season with another new manager, a whole new squad, and a job on our hands to avoid a relegation battle.

If only we had owners who had even the slightest clue what they are doing.

I think Tonda needs to go back to Germany and keep his head down for a while. I’ve no doubt he’ll get a job somewhere in Europe again and he’ll do well having learned the lesson of his life from this mess.

Unfortunately that won’t be any consolation for Saints or us.
Worst thing is I honestly believe he’s a very talented manager and this was totally unnecessary

Corrupt cunt

I would still love to know what he wanted to say but couldn’t last week. I guess we’ll never know.

Every time an appointment of manager is worse than the last one since the appointment of RM, and I thought Tonda is an exception. I am wrong. There is no exception, Tonda must go, sadly.

It was too good to be true, the ridiculous run/winning streaks were backed up with blatant cheating, orchestrated by this twat.

He was the man Spors wanted, he was the one they desperately nudged to get the job after the previous useless manager.

This shite started way before Lego.

We seem to mastermind new ways to humiliate ourselves every season.

Fundamentally we haven't changed. We are still a 'data' driven club appointing people with no experience. And we lean more and more into it every season. When will you fucking learn Dragan? Ankersen? Or are you just going to wait until we're dead in League One before you get bored with your toy and throw it away?

If you persist in funding them, yes.

It started the moment we appointed your namesake.

The writing was on the wall from that moment on.

He's been absolutely brilliant and a total twat at the same time. Such a shame.

It's very conflicting to get a manager who has actually done a good job to turn the club around and yet want him bloody gone at the same time.

His replacement better be good.

Hope him and everyone else on his coaching team is gone at 9am. Has embarrassed us all.

If we'd just got a fine from the efl and were playing at Wembley in a couple of days time would you still be calling for him to be sacked?
