ChristopheVAFC Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Once again, congratulations, my friends, on tonight's victory. You've taken another step toward the top of the league table. A commanding first half with three goals, a more controlled second half, and a clean sheet for Gavin tonight. Keep up the good work, friends! COYS ! 22
Mr X Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We need to be,clever here (but not too clever SR take note) and keep him as interim manager on the basis that if he continues to do well for the rest of this season he gets the job permanently next season.... Incentives ๐ we allย know we will start losing the games the second he is appointed permanently!.ย 5

saintstowin Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Saints won. Downs touched the ball.ย Alex McCarthy got man of the match (according to Sky cameras). 1 7
NewYorkSaint Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago By my count Downs had exactly one touch in that game? I'm genuinely looking forward to his first goal ... but if no one ever aims a ball at him? In other news... I really hate the red card rule. It often ruins games for both sides. ย penalize the player not the whole stadium!
Willo of Whiteley Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The table looking a lot tastier now. Fair play to Tonda Eckhart, not afraid to make a couple of bold decisions around the starting eleven. Not a bad performance from anyone. Might be worth a mention to Gavin Bazunu for his save at 1-0. Without that the game couldโve gone in a very different direction. 15

Secret Site Agent Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Apparently when he made the subs Tonde said: ย "Jay, i want you to pick up where Leo was, on the wing bringing it into the centre and if you feel brave, try a lob into the centre or a shot. saintant Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Scienza and Fellows will rightly take the plaudits because they are eye catching players. However, for me the most important member of this side is Capar Jander. He gets better every game and sets the tone and the tempo with his intelligence - what a football brain this guy has got. He rarely gives the ball away and is always available keeping things ticking over so that the flair players can work their magic. Fast becoming my favourite player and he was immense tonight. 36
CSA96 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago THB was asked what had changed on Sky: Tonda's given us so much. He's giving us everything and we're gelling now. He just came in with his own ideas. There was so much clarity. He made everything so clear for us. 7
Jimmy_D Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 3-0, clean sheet and utter dominance against Leicester? Not bad for an evening game thatโs on Sky ย 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If Tonda keeps giving us dull second Halfs, then he's got no chance of getting the job.ย ๐ All done in the first half again. And again, the set up makes the most of our weaker areas, with lots of support for each other.ย AA roamed even more tonight to create space for the others. Scienza once again the beneficiary, along with Azaz. Scienza is able to disrupt defences with even the smallest opportunity and makes a massive difference. Initially Fellowes had to run from deeper than he'd have liked to. But he had his opponents well beaten, with one sentence off and the other lucky to escape cards. It's a shame we've no target man for his crosses. He had to adapt his delivery. With no Stephens THB was the one getting forward. And he did it well, in addition to the two headers. Manning becomes key to a lot of our set pieces. We need to be attacking, so that teams don't exploit us at full back. Quarshie is a lot rawer. But his presence put Leicester off and he did things well. Downes picked up his obligatory card, although he looked angry with himself for it. In truth, he should have got one a lot earlier. Bragg gets a start. Cameos for Robinson, who showed some direct runs, Aribo with more pluses than minuses and Downs who won a header, even if he decided not to aim towards the goal with it. All sensible switches from Tonda. The squad players know what they need to do, to start. This weekends game to come. But if it goes half decently, Tonda will get the job. Then not long until the window for Spors to rectify the centre forward issue. 1

BotleySaint Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Tonda has managed to stop the rot.ย Gone is the soul destroying passing it sideways across the back over and over again. Or the lumping it forward hopefully to short attackers. Somehow he has reminded the players they are footballers. Getting it down and playing it to feet. And obviously two set piece goals won the match which is something hes apparently focused on. Keep going! 3
The Wyvern Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Second goal was brilliant - a great example of what we've been missing the last few years - fast, forward looking football.ย Would be nice to have converted our 2nd half dominance into another goal or two, appreciate that is being greedy now.ย ย I can't see a situation where Eckert doesn't get the job now.ย He's proved me completely wrong, didn't expect anywhere near this quality.ย It does really show what a difference the right manager at the right situation can make. 3

Hawkswood Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Man, its been so so long since we've seen the saints move the ball so quickly to our wide men for them to attack down the wings, even before the sending off. How many years have we been starved of attacking football. It just seems so basic to say it, go forwards instead of sideways. Hold my hand up like many others, wasn't keen on the fella getting the job but that was just so much fun to watch. First half before the S.O. we had less possession but all the killer instinct. Been such a long time wait. I hope it continues. 2

Paul_B Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago First half was a great watch, so strange seeing us being clinical in front of goal, but so good to get that feeling back!ย Second half was a tough watch and a bit frustrating as there were so many times where we could have turned the screw and had more chances on goal to try and boost our goal difference.ย Kind of Tonda to even things up a bit on 80mins by bringing Downs on. His 2 game involvements; falling over a blade of grass and heading the ball to a Leicester player (and subsequently injuring himself by landing awkwardly by the looks of it).ย Also how did the Sky camera person, and both commentators mistake McCarthy for Scienza??ย
