One thing we can be certain of, Will Salt has done his chances of being recruited as an MI5 field operative irrecoverable harm.

His hiding skills are up there with my daughter playing hide and seek when she was about 3! 🤣

Will Salt to be on "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" next season.

There was certainly one in a Matalan tracksuit gesturing at the home sections from Tuesday night. Can’t recall which thread it was one but @Miltonaggro posted it IIRC

The Middlesbrough appreciation thread, Gloucester, the lady was goading the Saints fans at the Riverdive. I believe her name is Stephanie Gibson, Boro’s legal director and stress relief receptacle.

I'm thinking the young analyst screwed his days up, he was supposed to get there on Wednesday but something caused him to lose a day and he thought he'd chance it to not get in trouble. Young, naive and maybe a bit too eager to please.

I have a similar suspicion there might have been some sort of fuck-up along these lines, in combination with the notion that this sort of thing is done regularly on the quiet. Would be nice to hear more from the club but they obviously feel it's best to keep their powder dry until the right moment.

I can’t seem them kicking us out as there would have to be an appeal and that could take weeks, if not months.

Equally if the EFL got the process wrong they would leave themselves open to a damages claim for very a substantial sum of money, so if you were them you wouldn’t take the risk.  A fine or points deduction is the most I can see.

Honestly, at this point aren't Middlesborough just opening themselves up to legal challenge? It's starting to get to the point where a fair trial simply isn't possible due to the amount of whining BS they've been spouting in the media. We'll have to be let off as it's no longer possible to reach an unbiased opinion with all that noise!

BBC have really conducted themselves like idiots too. Clearly a Middlesborough fan in their ranks.

I'd love to see Middlesborough try to prove how we had a competitive advantage over the two games by looking at the footage. You wouldn't even get past the first half of the first leg before concluding that's just a nonsense opinion. They were all over us!

I would say they are now in conflict with uefa regulations. I don't know what will happen now but saints absolutely have case against them. I wonder if we will accept a minor sanction from th efl in an agreement to let this lie and go away. Or whether solak will actually go back at Boro? I hope and would love it to be the latter, but obviously don't know if we are able to.

Alternatively the EFL and independent commission could be swayed by the media storm and throw the book at us, but I sincerely hope we blow the whole process up legally if that happens.

Yeah, if 'Boro want a fight over this, they will undoubtedly get it.

They need to be careful what they wish for.

So if an independent inquiry doesn't make a decision in favour of Boro, AND impose the very harshest of sanctions, they'll take legal action.

I need a quiet sit down.

It’s on BBC News tonight. The final that might never happen as Middlesbrough try to get Southampton thrown out of the competition 😂

Imagine if they don’t, they’d be knocked out of the play offs twice in the same season

The recent statement from Middlesboro i think is more about positioning for their inevitable legal action against Saints, than any belief the EFL will do what they want.

So going by the latest articles it seems that boro have the statement from the ex employee and they want bank statements and phone records to try to prove it. Doesn't sound like they have any form of proof from other clubs.

I am genuine when I ask what advantage do Boro really think we gained. What does the EFL think we genuinely gained.

Yes I understand the 72 hours thing, but that tells me that it’s allowed.

Boro need to explain why anyone walking their dog can see whats going on.

I just dont get what legal challenge is available to Boro. Most importantly what legal defence that the EFL would need to prove for any wrong doing.

"If" we are found guilty, I believe we should offer Middlesborough the following. apology..

"Dear, Middlesborough,

We're very very sorry for what we've done and we'd like to make it up to you. Please accept this £12 million pound Irish international goalkeeper as a token of our goodwill, and this Danish keynote speaker who is brilliant at breaking things. As an extra gesture, we'd like to highly recommend our former manager Russell Martin to you as a future replacement for your current manager who has obviously been deeply and emotionally affected by this whole sorry saga and who no doubt will be unable to continue in football management as a result of our heinous actions. Yours with love, Southampton FC."

Just promote Hull if this was the case. They will not do this due to Sky Sports’ thirst for more revenue, but the absolute embarrassment of turning up to a final having already lost. The fact they’re begging for the by says a lot about them: massive losers.

Allow Baz to join them for a fee of around £5m, but paid for by Saints as a gesture of goodwill.

That would go a long to heal the divide IMO

Spin that has been fed to a friendly journalist by Middlesbrough. They can't possibly know what is 'likely' prior to the independent panel that they have no part in.

Yep, Boro have the written statement from Taylor, but absolutely zero evidence to back it up. Lovely stuff.

To be fair I’d give them £5m + him if it got him off our hands for a season.

I might even dislike Boro slightly less.

And still it goes on. 'strong written evidence' is essentially this one bloke unless he has written evidence from someone like Spors it isn't strong. 'At least one other team' means it's one other doesn't it

If this Taylor chappie joined us from Middlesbrough and then returned after a couple of months what information could he have supplied them with about our training routines? How do his dates correspond with the matches between us?

How on earth would any "written statements" gathered by a club that clearly stands to benefit from them be admissible? Surely the evidence submitted should be kept to what was witnessed on the day? Surely it would be for the FA to gather further evidence if they deemed it necessary?

They’re blaming the ref on Facebook now. If he’d have given them the penalties they should have had no one would be talking about the spying 😂😂😂

Oh so they’re back to trying to influence the case through local journalists again

The statement obviously didn’t have the desired impact.

They'll be having a go at their own ground staff next for the reason their attack couldn't get the ball in the onion bag when massively on top in the first leg.

To give a certain thread about the blue few a run, this really would be years in the solving.
