The Karen FC Forum are convinced it's the final nail in our coffin.

They just don't get it; the EFL, a member's club, have brought an action in terms of a potential breach of the club's rules, this is not a criminal, or even civil, Law case, so none of that waffle is relevant.

Ok, let's summarise. Spying on another team's training is allowed as long as it's 72 hours or more before a match. An intern did it less than 72 hours before the match.

That's f*cking it.

It's like going 5 mph over the speed limit, not driving the wrong way on the motorway or driving blind drunk, FFS.

We all agree expulsion is ludicrous, but some here are saying we can expect a fine and points deduction.

I say fuck a points deduction, that could cost us dearly down the road.

The maximum punishment should be a modest fine and slap on the wrist. Saints should appeal/sue if it's anything more, including any point(s) deduction.

I can’t believe the Boro forum think that’s genuine 😂😂😂

I guess ChatGPT hasn’t made its way to Karen FC yet.

We’re going to be okay. I just put in to ChatGPT ‘What are the chances of Southampton not being in the Championship play off final next Saturday’

Pretty much it said we’ll be okay. So there we go, ChatGPT has spoken and we know that’s gospel!

They even think that photo of a young lad standing behind a tree is genuine.

I'm not sure I believe that's the submission. It's are we guilty of what we've been charged with and how egregious was the breach. All that other stuff might factor into a civil suit but is not relevant here.

Yeah, surely it isn't. Looks like it was written by chat GPT and/or a complete moron.

Genuinely this, apparently ...

Not sure where to start with that bollox.. assuming it's genuine.

The insinuation that 3rd party clubs have been impacted has no place in a submission by Boro, it's for that club.

There's also the suggestion that financial loss has been suffered. I get that it could be, but the suggestion that it has been is nonsense.

Whilst civil claims may be possible, the tribunal isn't a civil court, so what could theoretically take place on other arenas has no relevance in this arena.

Fuck me. Is Steve Gibson worshipped as some kind of God up there? The hard on they have for him is beyond fuckin weird. I wonder why none of them have wandered on here and tried to pick a fight? Surely even one of them would be over here if they thought they were going to get us thrown out.

Just been driving up to Gretna Green so missed the past 3 hours. Can someone catch me up?

There's been lot of noise and made up stuff on the Internet. Public opinion has shifted decisively against Middlesbrough on the BBC HYS after they released a statement complaining they weren't allowed to talk at the hearing. And it's not Middlesbrough FC anymore. It's Karen FC

Can't believe after today I'm saying this, but, in fairness, he did rescue their club from oblivion, build a new stadium, get them some exciting players (in the 90s) etc.  So I get it.

Good Luck Gibo.

"Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has accused United Group co-owner Dragan Šolak, as well as the media outlets in the Group’s composition, of being part of a conspiracy to plan his murder. Vučić denied having made the announcement the very next day, but the recording on his Instagram profile in which he said exactly that remained."

Just imagining a Teeside accent in Taggart tones - ‘There’s been a murder like’.

The forum has now turned on Neil Maddison for suggesting that Saints shouldn't be thrown out of the final and liking one or more Finn Azaz "going to Wembley" posts on Instagram. They've finally cottoned on to the "submission" being generated by ChatGPT. Confidence in Gibbo remains high.

First thing we should be doing after all this nonsense is settled is ban Luke Edwards and all the other cunts that have jumped on this pathetic bandwagon.

They should never be allowed step foot in St Mary’s again.

I remember Neil Maddison living in Hedge End and his debut goal for us. Good lad.

If I’m a reputable member of the independent panel, I’m definitely letting some info loose to someone called “Teeside Acko” during the process.

It's oddly compulsive. Watching two groups of people having meltdowns over different things and having to deal with my own doubts about what is real and what is not.

Plenty of twists and turns in public content yet but there are just a few things worth bearing in mind in all this - which aren't rocket science:

1. Boro feel aggrieved - as they should - and are using every tool at their disposal to ensure anything they could get out of this, they do.  Saints messed up, Boro are just seeking to capitalise.  They are acting in their best interests, as we would ours.  I don't blame them.

2. They almost certainly know that the incident alone wouldn't result in anything favourable for them as a proportionate punishment, so have worked hard to try and prove it is bigger than incident so they can achieve point 1 above.  To be absolutely clear, I have zero belief they care about the integrity of the game.  They have a charge sheet themselves in the past that makes that clear.  They are out to look after themselves - as every club is.

3. A part of their tactic will be to own the public narrative.  Saints by way of strategy are remaining quiet because they think that helps their cause.  Boro are pumping all sorts out there in order to sway public opinion on the matter.  That is their right.  It's clear the journalists they are using to do this - I don't have an issue with those journalists, because that is the game they play.  They'll be puppets for clubs to garner favour down the line.  That's how the industry works.  They are also using careful language in every article - the usual favourites of 'understands' etc. because that's how nothing gets back to them and they don't actually make claims as facts, they merely speculate.

4. Also remember that the media doesn't care for impartial, balanced reporting.  It survives on negative and sensational news.  This is right up their street.

Saints haven't challenge the charge and need to answer for their breaking of the rules.  They were charged with an incident at Boros training ground.  They are not charged with breaking any other rules, any other time, despite Boro trying very hard to come up with something.

Saints risk, as it has been from the start, is the degree to which this was a planned operation and supported within the club.  They are not denying it happened.  They are not denying it is wrong.  They have to prove who was involved so the panel can determine the type of punishment.

Expect more Boro narrative for a while yet.  They'll continue to go for it, and the media will be delighted to receive their orders because of the interest this is getting.

Saints will receive their punishment and then more fun and games will ensue - either way.

Personally I am gutted the club did this, it's pathetic and quite frankly unnecessary and stupid.  To be put in this situation is disgusting, and if it's bigger than a few people making a silly decision then we deserve all we get.  But don't let the public narrative inform you of a single thing about this case - the truth is the last thing they care about.

No.

Or would they have to bring charges for other spying instances separately?

Yes

TeessideAcko's post has led to scenes of jubilation among the faithful. Posters were metaphorically dancing in the streets until some wet blanket pointed out the poster is a wind up merchant known for talking bullshit. You join us as the scenes of joy slowly die out and the forum reverts to it's previous steady state of expecting Gibbo to go and sort them.

I don't know for sure but I'd say they'd have to bring other charges.

Spin that has been fed to a friendly journalist by Middlesbrough. They can't possibly know what is 'likely' prior to the independent panel that they have no part in.

We already know that that scenario is bollocks.

Could we get kicked out? It's possible, but extremely unlikely.

But let's just say the verdict from the panel is expulsion. In that scenario, the next step is an immediate appeal by Saints — which is permitted under EFL rules — and in that scenario the final gets postponed until such time as the appeal has played out, which could take months, and which would open an enormous financial, logistical and legal can of worms for everyone involved. The EFL, Saints, Boro, MIllwall, Wrexham, Wembley, individuals who've bought the tickets which are now readily on sale, etc etc.

There is literally no scenario where Saints get kicked out, the club justs accept it, and as part of that process Boro are immediately asked to step forward to play in the final on the 23rd instead of us.

Not one.

But it could provide some evidence that this incident was not a singleton and was planned/orchestrated (systemic), and likely known by those with more influence.

remember, we stated this person was "acting alone"

No idea if that's true or not but if it is, would those articles saying "if Southampton are proven to have done this multiple times they will be kicked out" a load of bollocks then because this hearing will just be looking at if we have broken these two rules and not charges of systemic spying?
