He's definitely not a donkey. I watched him a lot at youth level cos he was in the same Everton U21 side as my nephew and they are still good friends.

He's got great pace and acceleration, good close control and a good eye for a forward pass. He's played mostly on the left in his recent loans in the Championship but he's versatile and pops up with goals wherever he plays along the front 3.

He wouldn't be a direct Stewart replacement because he's not that profile of player. We'd probably be looking to bring him in as backup/competition for both Leo and Fellows cos he can play on either side.

Would be a decent signing IMO. 11 goals and 8 assists for PNE last season is pretty impressive.

Interesting summary, but reading one of the press articles indicates Villa want c £10m for him. Which would be too much for a Scienza/Fellows back up or competition in my book.

Devine looked from highlights seen a creative player who might have been capable of the Azaz role, but at £6m. 

The direct Stewart replacement is where I’d hope we’re looking to spend on. Not another short arse  forward.

Shaping up to be an "interesting" summer for the Geordies. Already sold both Antony Gordon and Tonali for big money and now Bruno Guimaraes reported to have asked for a transfer with Arsenal rumoured to be waiting in the wings. If they are forced to sell him too, they will be sitting on a major wad of cash and will probably be held to ransom on deals to get in replacements as everyone will know they are desperate (and minted). Maybe we can get them interested in Charles to fill one of the midfield gaps to drive his price up more?

I wonder if we've considered a cheeky bid for Messi? He's getting on a bit but still has something left in the tank.  He's short but talented. We could give him ownership of the club as part of the fee, maybe get a netflix deal.  We need to think outside of the box.

Alternatively, if we do go for a more traditional solution, tom cannon looks suitably mediocre.

I’d take Dobbin, he’ll go to a top end Championship club, and I could see us paying £10m for him to compete with the likes of Azaz, Matsuki, Fellows and Scienza - it isn’t like we’re flush across all those positions.

Edozie wasn’t really trusted enough, but we need direct wide players that are happy to run with the ball.

I cant see us signing him unless at least one of them leaves. We've also got Edozie and Robinson for those positions, we're not going to be spending big money on an attacking midfielder when we already have 6 of them for 3 positions.

The first 3 clips of that video, he picks up the ball with a flat back 4 in front of him and scores a cracking goal. Reminds me a little bit of lallana when he had his championship promotion season with us - supporting the attack, good feet and off the ball movement, and a tidy finish. He also looks like he scores all kinds of goals - arriving late, edge of box curlers, headers, running off the defender etc. All of them good finishes as well. I reckon he could be used all across the front 4 for saints subject to formation. Given his proven Championship record to date for a young player, i wouldn't be upset if we did pay up £8-10M on him myself.

This Dobbin forward chap looks like he scores goals - AND creates - Leo is I clearly the closest like for like- NOT CA, SE, TF, DD(!) JR, RS(!) or even FA. 

IF Leo departs Saints for alleged £25m it’s a hefty player trading profit - in just 12 mths. With returns like that it’s arguably a better, less financially risky, more manageable business model to stay in the Championship - and focus on producing “Leo Scienzas “ plus , bonus- get promoted , than any other way of prioritising operations. 
 

Buying Championship goalscorer and asset maker Dobbins in from Villa @ £10m and hoping with promotion his value too rockets up to £25m this time next year makes total long term business sense in that context. 
 

Supporters don’t want that. Supporters want get promoted play beautifully stay in EPL buy flash players pay big bucks become global giants get Europe get to Finals.
 

Owners want : stop losing money start making money and reduce risk stop making it a rollercoaster turn it into a money making machine.

Nothing comparable about Scienza and Dobbin in terms of playing style from what I can see. Don’t think that aligns with being a replacement at all.

Dobbin played and scored against us twice last season both from starting centrally from what I can tell. Most his clips show him doing his effective work from central positions too. 

Suspect with Archer wanting out and Stewart going this is a nice flexible attacking option that allows us to invest once to cover those two and Azaz…if it’s true.
