They signed him in January for £11m from Salzburg, so I suspect this would be a loan with an obligation on promotion or a straight loan if they just intend to protect his value and not commit strongly either way on him yet

If so, it seems unlikely Lazio will be keen on a loan with either an option or obligation, they want the £now. But if the other clubs mentioned are Moscow Spartak and Red Star Belgrade what sort of sums are they able to throw at it ? No idea how flush either are

LiberalCommunist Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago More likely to go Fulham or Forest than Benfica. But the noise they are making is most unwelcome.

KingInDaSouf Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Can't see us signing Ratkov unless BBD, Downs and Archer are all moved on, big ask to find takers for all 3 2

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Ratkov has already said that he doesn't want to come to Southampton.

Did really well at this level last time out and Moyes called him back to play for Everton in the second half of the season Yes that’s the one. Could be a deal on the cards as we’ve shown an interest. 1

Saint86 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I wonder if we might be able to get Emmanuel Emegha on loan from Chelsea. Very talented young CF, they signed him from Stasbourg this summer (so they obviously think there is a good player there) but he hasn't featured so far, which suggest he might be available on loan. 6ft 5", good in the air, pacey, and good finisher... 1
Bakovnetski Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Supposedly after Man Utd youngster, Dan Gore. https://saintsmarching.com/the-potential-midfield-signing-that-has-slipped-under-the-radar-at-southampton

CSA96 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Transfer update from Alfie House on the Echo site just now: - Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb looking at a move for Gavin Bazunu - Damion Downs has two clubs in MLS who want him, most likely he moves to the USA - Yuki Sugawara wanted by Werder Bremen and two other Bundesliga clubs - No active interest or offers for Harwood-Bellis since the rejected Benfica bid, but club expects further interest - Central midfielder is top priority for Spors and Eckert but nothing is imminent - Unlikely that they make another expensive attacking signing but they are open to using the loan market Edited 10 hours ago by CSA96 4

I think he could do okay there, hopefully he can rejuvinate some kind of form 3

HarvSFC Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I do find it a bit bizarre regarding the midfielder situation and "nothing being imminent". Shea Charles needed replacing and his sale didn't come as a surprise. 7

Probably waiting for another club to get their replacement lined up or to allow the player out in the final week of the window. It's a bit annoying the window works in this way when the league games are already underway but it's the reality of things Edited 9 hours ago by CSA96 4

hypochondriac Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Worth remembering Solak's quotes: “We will work on having at least the same, if not a better quality team…” “Our goal this summer is not about making money but to have at least the same level of quality for next season.” Regarding the new players: “We don’t want to talk about them, so if anybody wants to talk about them, they would really have to wake me up with something incredible.” “If I can buy half a team for the money, then okay, we’ll discuss.” “For every guy we thought might have an offer, we have five to six guys already lined up that we are monitoring.” Interesting to see where we are in two weeks. 3

jrobsbigshorts Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I'm really suprised there hasn't been more central midfielders linked ,I thought last season Tonda did a great job of rotating the 4 midfielders for the 2 spots , have to trust Spors can work his magic but it's the position I'm most worried about, could do with upgrades at CB but I reckon it'll be ok and I'm alright with Larin and Mubama but we'll need at least 1 new no.8 and if Jander does go I'm not confident we can find 2 no.8s anywhere near the quality of Shea and Caspar
hypochondriac Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 12-14 million for Sugawara and Archer would be good business tbh. I wanted to keep archer but I assume if him, bbd and downs go we will get someone else in. Maybe the Lazio guy.

I know it has been rumoured we still want a back up GK but to go into the season with Long as back up scares me. We can only hope we can shift Ransdale and Baz out and get one in. We also don't need 5 CMs so if we got Louza we wouldn't need JWP. 1

It didn't work unfortunately but we still need a big physical No. 6 to give us cover for Downes and Bragg and someone who can come one and help us close out games. 2
