Checking and then, wrongly IMO, ignoring the foul by Doué on the edge of his own box in the build up.

Not shown again, of course, as it would have been obvious it should have been a foul.

This is something that's really pissing me off with this WC. Case just proved further with the VAR check for Mbabbe's goal. There's a clear reluctance from the TV directors to show any replays at all of VAR checks or other potentially controversial incidents.

Can't have Joe Public seeing the evidence for any suspicious decisions now can we.

Morocco have been absolutely insipid and quite frankly deserve to lose.

It's a shame as they looked good earlier in the tournament and particularly vs Brazil in the group stage where they were much more positive and I thought the better side. I remember they have been similar to today in knockout stages in previous world cups, they seem to retreat into their shell and not believe they can compete in the latter stages.

Yep, absolutely wasted the chance. Why fight to get here and then just sit back until its too late?

Conspiracy theory. Maybe someone offered them money to throw the game. They were that bad

Interesting you mentioning that - it fleetingly crossed my mind that it was rather coincidental that France were pitted against Morocco - a country with many ties to France and clearly unlikely to cause an upset. Another example of FIFA fixing…surely not? 😉

30-45 mins half time show for the final 🤣

Worth it to see such big stars such as Burna Boy

Eugh. Tell the Americans to fuck off. Then fuck off again.

Would far rather see some kids or fat blokes do a relay around the pitch for 5 minutes.

I assume that's a joke??

Not quite - half time show is apparently going to be about 11 minutes long but the logistics of dismantling everything for play to resume means the break will probably be about 25 mins.  Or at least that's what I've found.

Good that they are raising money for charity, but if they want to put on a show, why not do it before the match starts? It’s bad enough with the hydration (coaching) breaks. They are trying to turn it into another Super Bowl.

25 minutes or even longer, it’s going to be difficult for players to keep limbered up and adrenalised. It can’t be easy to keep warmed up and flexing in the confines of a changing room however generously appointed they are.

If this is true, you’re going to have what is in effect two separate mini-matches, not halves, punctuated still further by the wretched hydration breaks

That's a pen hand ball by Spain in box

Yep. Arm clearly in an unnatural position. No VAR check.

The inconsistency of its use is infuriating.

Wow Spain let in a goal another first ...

Belgium playing better than I expected,  got few that can score and with Lakaku he just needs one clear chance. Its another low block team but at least they go forward with ball.

I thought they checked everything or is it only if ref says via his microphone?

Ref didn't see it   distracted by subs apparently

..

I think there is an additional VAR person or another official for QF onwards, what are they doing just spectating.
