Still a bit pissed.

Completely accept Saints should have been punished but think we've been made an example and stitched up by the efl and independent panel.

I would have accepted it better IF Hull had a 3-0 walkover for the final. So find it more galling that the shitty boro club get a third chance at promotion.

If they win, I really hope Hull go after them.

A mess of own making with no internal governance and incompetence from the board. With major ramifications for next season.

I’m over it mostly. Can’t watch the game today watching boro fans celebrating like they deserve it.  Happy to laugh about it even if a little sad inside.

If Boro lose it’ll be difficult to see who Steve Gibson will try and sue next.

He’s out of options. 😂

Sadly I think they’ll win.

Currently sat in bed with a cuppa, and just said to my wife “it’s the play off final today”.
Obviously her reply was only “hmmm”

Should be us lot there today. Not sure what the feeling is really. Jealousy maybe.

Pretty much exactly where I am, would also add that I'm still shocked just how moronic Parsons, the staff, and whoever was supposed to be 'defending' the club have been.

Not sure I'll fully 'accept' it until those responsible have taken shown some responsibility and resigned for incompetence.

But on a wider note, it has just reinforced my increasing apathy about football. The sportswashing, the ridiculous financial doping, the complete c**ts like Infantino sucking up to dictators, everything being a 'product'. I don't watch any football other than Saints games anymore tbh and as I mentioned in the other thread I'll probably boycott the world cup for all the 10p in ad money it'll cost them.

WTF stage

Good and bad happens supporting Saints. Nothing I can do about it.

Sorry to hear that. I hope that you can get something better moving forward.

I keep thinking I have finally reached acceptance but then I read something again that makes me angry. It has been and continues to be a farcical situation which will continue to haunt us for sometime to come.

On the plus side I have preferred us being competitive in the Championship rather than cannon fodder in the EPL and we don’t have VAR next season either.

Let’s go one step further. Win the Championship and the FA Cup with Middlesbrough being relegated with the lowest points total ever.

Somewhat OTT but after all the anger and sadness it feels like the funeral is taking place today and once it’s over and I’ve had a few drinks at my own private wake I’ll hopefully get back to normal and decide that I will, after all, renew next season.

Once it was originally reported I had a feeling it was going pear shaped. Watched the semi 2nd leg with interest rather than excitement as it was clear by then that cunt Gibson had whipped the media into such a frenzy that there was only one way out. Resigned best sums it up. Oh, and we broke the rules

Fuck off Boro stage and will stay there.

This is never going to end especially with the Echo constantly putting stupid questions on web and virtually all comments are from Boro fans.

To be fair they are still plastering shit all over the Wolves pages and local rag about Edwards. Strange lot.

As above cannot bring myself to watch the Fake Final I am still angry and feel sick but I will move on tomorrow when it’s all over and watch some other dodgy games instead to take my mind off it and then on Monday learn Saints are sueing the ass of all the clique involved on stitching us up

My first visit back to Saintsweb since the shitshow started. I couldn't face hearing any more about SR incompetence, and the utter stitch up that resulted. The sanctimonious press going on about football integrity was particularly naseous.

I've got over not having a day out today, but the potential ramifications for next season make me feel sick. If Hull don't win today I'll feel even sicker.

To be perfectly honest, I immediately went to the, “yep, don’t give a sh*t,” phase as soon as I heard we’d been kicked out. After the 12 points, the 9-0s, the ridiculous signings, the defeats snatched from the jaws of victory and everything else, I just can’t even pretend to be upset. Saints are like your d*ck head ex. Who kept doing more and more dramatic things for diminishing returns of attention, to the point that you eventually just stop caring.

Whats next Saints, the entire squad caught rabies from some bats, on a preseason tour of Asia? A meteorite flattened St Mary’s? Sure if you want.

Hull winning today, preferably with a last minute controversial penalty, would go some way to healing things.

Anyone watching it? I won’t be. Can’t face it. Going to the village pub and sitting in the beer garden for a couple of hours. Got my day mapped out to avoid it. No radio on this morning and no mainstream websites like the Beeb.

I've caught the odd bit of the tributes to Pep. Their outstanding charges feels sharper after what we've gone through.

Other than that, I've avoided the noise from the hacks about us. The next test will be how it feels should 'boro win, then their PL fortunes.

Hopefully, I'll not give a jot. As for the wider PL, I've not missed not being in it. Simply the money it brings. And that gets hoovered up, trying to keep up.

Looks as though even watching Valenciennes is going to be harder next season.

I've my local team to support and connect to. Starts up Cheers Song ...

Like some have mentioned, my interest in football has rapidly dissipated in recent years anyway...

- Stupid money on wages and transfers

- Sport washing with dodgy owners and competitions

- Corruption at the very top of the chain

- Donald f'in Trump and a Biggly World Cup that is outside of most people's reach in terms of cost despite it supposedly being for the people (will not be watching a single second and never going to the US while the orange man baby or any of his cronies are in charge)

- Matches likely to be played outside of the domestic country of the league

- Harry Maguire and his entire family complaining that he's not picked for England....boo hoo, suck it up and show some class and respect

- The inadequate way VAR has been implemented, clear and obvious it's been a cock up

So many other reasons. For many years I'd only followed Saints and our players in internationals. This whole fiasco has just reinforced my opinion that football is eating itself alive and it's just not worth it. The teams at the top will keep cheating and getting away with it or buy their way out and the rest will nibble away at the leftovers. Other things in my life give me more pleasure and rarely let me down, i.e. Heavy Metal. Time to crack open some beers, light up the barbecue and enjoy the glorious weather....and hope Hull stuff Boro. Enjoy the bank holiday those that have it to enjoy! 🤘

I’m basically over it now in terms of this season/next season.

I don’t think I’ll ever get over the media pile on and the sense that the EFL decided to throw the book at us because we are a small and less significant club. The sense of one rule for one and another for others will be permanent for me, the game and its governing bodies are absolutely rotten.

So sorry to hear that. Often these things are purely financial and nothing to do with how you or your team has performed. And they quite often remove the wrong bit…

It’s chance for a re-set. Happened to me during the pandemic and actually taking a package was better then furlough because I’d worked solid for 20 years+ without a break so I took 5-6 months out after the final lockdown, walked big parts of the SWCP, got fit, turned down a few offers and took a short-term contract with an organisation I liked but was never going to relocate for.

Took the open-ended option after that with a world leader in their field, doing the favourite job of my career. With the national and global turbulence, I’m taking it 12 months at a time. Former colleagues at the previous place still ask me for advice especially where I’m working at the top now.

But key headline is that it can be onwards and upwards.

It sort of drifts between acceptance and anger.

Today it's more a case of anger again as I woke up and realised that my plans were totally different.

Anger this morning that I realised the extacy of Charles winner in 117mins meant absolutley nothing.

Anger at the clubs complete and lack of front up to any of this.

Anger at the excessive Boro pile on and manipulated campaign to get them the result THEY wanted.

But who am I most angry with? Sports Fucking Republic. They have dragged my club into the pits, time and time again. This low was again on their watch and again entirely unavoidable if they had an ounce of accountability and competence.

Over the last few months I felt I was getting my club back, building a rapport with the team and the coaching staff again. But it all feels fake. Ripped apart in seconds. They talk about needing to win trust back, but they'll never, ever, ever win mine.

10000% agree. Southampton Football Club, apart from its supporters who are blameless in this, mean nothing to me until SR have sold up lock, stock and barrel.

Can’t abide Solak, Rasmussen and the other 🤡

Go, go now.

I accept Eckert did wrong but was it such a wrongdoing ? OK Saints had to hold their hands up and take a hit but Boro could have stopped it as soon as they got the tip off . Just ring Saints and tell us they’ve had word and if a spy turns up they will go public but no they kept it quiet until they lost so much for respecting other clubs !

All but accepted it now. Anger subsided, although I'm sure that will resurface come kick off. Most of all I'm disappointed for my son, he was really looking forward to the day after getting his first taste of Wembley last month. Biggest emotion is still feeling let down by the club that I've supported for 40+years.

Acceptance, with a bit of anger, consoling myself with the thought that Hull would most likely have beaten us given the 2 games we've already lost to them this season

I'm just embarrassed by our incompetence. The spying itself is trivial.

A slightly different take. I think what stands out for me is the lone wolf theory at the beginning. It was given to us, to Gibson and to the panel initially.

Alot of what we were talking about was based off that theory. And it turns out in the report that it looks like an attempt to deceive everyone before the actual truth came out.

It's really just that part that doesn't sit right

Acceptance

just filed it as lost in the payoffs, and next season is reduced to 44 games and Sports Republic further emanate their incompetence

On the metal front, my 9 year old who is on the ASD spectrum (Asperger's) just really likes Kerrang radio which plays rock of various intensity 🎸 - His favourite band is ACDC! I think it's something about the heavy drums or guitar chords, who knows, but I approve of this musical choice 🤘🏻

Fed up. A couple of weeks ago I had today all planned out. Now I keep looking at the clock and thinking what I would have been doing if all this hadn't happened. It's too hot for gardening so I will have to find something to do indoors and not put the TV on. I might stick a few Pictures of Eckert on the wall. Just need to find my darts.

Has anyone’s been issued yet?

I have just sent a strongly worded email to the club regarding this. It's shambles. I could really do with that £270 this weekend. And I have also requested that the play off semi final matches are refunded as well.

Obviously Iron Maiden, will never let you down as it's about the fans completely.

Love Blaze Bayley, will travel to see him whenever I can.

Very much into the European Metal scene currently; Feuerschwanz, d'Artagnan, Brothers of Metal, Avatar, Finntroll, All for Metal, Trollfest.

The Cruel Intentions and Hardcore Superstar for the sleaze craving.

And the old thrash bands that are still tearing things up; Anthrax, Kreator, Destruction, Armored Saint.

First festival of the summer season is next weekend, Call of the Wild followed by Graspop in 3 weeks 😁🤘

I am not feeling that great today. The sun is out and I should be at Wembley and I am back from carpet and tile shopping now at on the couch at a loss.

I have gone from we must take immediate action and sack all those involved, to getting everyone back on board and saying “do it for the fans” stay and give it another season and win the bloody league. Unfortunately it will be somewhere in the middle and we will make the playoffs, but only because we have the parachute money.

Come tomorrow my thinking will change again!
