Is Akachukwu playing midfield?  Don't know much about him but I thought he was more of a wide player?  Whoever plays there the midfield looks pretty weak although I if you decide not to play Downes or Matsuki then I it's always going to look like that.
Don't think taking young kids and playing them out of position is best for their development but guess we'll see.

I noticed that. Not even in the squad...

Also interesting to see Bowen on the bench for them with rumours he may still be off. Does it only cup-tie him if he comes on?

And see it's 25 years ago today since the first league fixture at St Mary's. FFS.

We really seem to want to play attacking midfielders in central midfield don't we

Maybe a 4-1-2-1-2??? We will basically have no midfield whatever we do with that lineup I'd have thought 🤔

Slightly bizarre decision to play Scienza imo. Really need him fit and firing for next week. Surprised Edozie didn't start.

That was my initial thought, but he looks unfit and slightly off it, so on balance I think he needs the game

There were reports he had a shoulder injury from the Watford game. I assume it was the lack of sleep from that rather than the injury itself that caused the poor performance on Saturday otherwise I can't see why they would risk him before Saturday.

It's all we've got.

That’s a very lightweight midfield. Need a replacement for Charles in asap.

In terms of physical size Bragg is, but Akachukwu is huge. So not lightweight in that sense.

So the story goes, JWP called Nuno a baldy when at Forest and not one to hold a grudge, Nuno has ostracised JWP ever since.

Apparently patched things up this summer and he's had ganetine in their last few games.

Most West Ham fans I've seen online saying this is "the weakest WH line up they've ever seen..."

Probably not interested in the Carabao Cup.

Still at 25 quid they could make an effort. Suppose it's not their fans paying

Yep, he's got the physicality.

In terms of other options, I'd like to know what's happened to Barnaby Williams.

He has come off the bench though and played the second half against Burnley. Odd that he is missing.

Where is our Danish, ex Brentford, right back?

He must rival Ross Stewart for time on the treatment table!!

What happens if BReeeee gets injured?

We bring Rickie Camembert out of retirement and play him at full back?

If there was one game where you'd take a punt that JWP would be a shoe-in to start, it would surely be this one?

So, he's either injured or we're re-signing him in a few days...

2 + 2 = 5

;)

Well it certainly does look weak. 0-4 battering incoming 😬

Bowen has already announced he’s staying

He has but...there's plenty up that neck of the woods saying he could still be off. I remember someone on here a while ago adamantly saying there was absolutely no chance JWP was leaving St Mary's 😉

Players arriving for the game by coach... Bit overkill for round 2 of the EFL cup...?

I thought they did this for most evening games tbh, all meeting at staplewood and then travelling by coach.

James Ward-Prowse not in the West Ham squad.

Come on conspiracy theorists! Do your thing! 😂

Nuno hates him lol (bring him home, especially now Shea has left)!
