carries on like that he has to be a shoe in for england...

he is exactly what they want...young, brilliant, full of energy...can pass...quick

can tackle..

not in the wilshere mould but would complement the middle of the park with him

what an incredible player he (and morgan) is

I said that too, him and Wilshere would be really good together when Gerrard and Lampard hang up their boots.

To be honest having him back has really tightened things up at the back. This pressing game suits both Schneiderlin and Cork - and see how advanced they are giving more support to the strikers.

They have both become box to box midfielders we wanted earlier in the season.

Cork plays what has, I think, been England's weakest position: defensive/holding midfielder. Parker is excellent, but getting on for a footballer age-wise, and Barry has always been more efficient than outstanding for me, & is also getting older.

I can see Cork getting in there, alongside Wilshere, as the heart of a new look England midfield, yes, with Gerrard & Lampard playing more limited roles as they are gradually eased out.

Sorry disagree about Parker, he isn't excellent, he's good at running about and making last ditch tackles and blocks but he doesn't keep up with the game. Both Cork and Schneirderlin read the game and have great positional sense to protect the back line.

Cork £750k

Morgan £1mill

Lambert £1mill

Fonte £1.2mill

etc etc

Bargains the lot of them, and more. I can't remember how much Punch cost us but it can't have been more than a few hundred K either. Cork perhaps is the bargain of the lot, not least because I reckon Chelsea would kill for him now.

You need to play for the top clubs to play for England, wrong, but seems the way. Cork or Barry? Come on Hodgson, sort it out.

Cork always was class. Even under Portvliet when he was on loan, he showed great composure, accuracy, fitness, the whole package. How Chelsea saw fit to sell him is beyond me, especially with the ageing squad, he would have been in that team now, and Roman wouldn't have been splashing the cash. But thats Chelsea for you. Great facilities at Cobham. Great Youngsters, all well developed and capable, and all sold off for next to nothing to make way for expensive signings. Maybe Chelsea should save a few quid and shut the academy down!

Superb again today. Arguably his best performance ever for us today IMO. Was everywhere and really seemed to go that extra yard with everything he did.

Gave a very poor Lampard the runaround today. Great to see and long may it continue. I love him and Morgan. I'm struggling to think of a better 2 CM's I've seen at Saints.

Really I thought he had one of his poorer games today (in an otherwise superb season).

Agree, actually thought Shaw also had a weaker match compared to normal.

Cork lost the ball dangerously in a couple of bad areas and wasnt as complete a performance as against Liverpool or City.
