We need quality striker asap please and a midfielder who can score goals!

Think we can all agree that we've been talking about lack of central midfield goals from JWP/Davis for the last 2 seasons and we definitely have needed a clinical striker since Ricky left our current lot need too many chances and if Tadic/Madic are off form supplying them then we have no chance.

relegation battle is on. big time

Yup. Only plus side that might come out of this is is might snap the club out of this sense of self-satisfaction and complacency it has about itself. Players need to work harder, so do the staff but we also need to attract some better players.

Just no words really, its painful to watch no threat at all up front,JWP and Davis are like a poor mans Gerrard and Lampard in the sense that it just doesn't work.

A Striker and a CAM that can actually create something/score,stop being bellends and searching Europes bargain bins for "potentially" decent players,we need something now.All this talk about J-Rod and Pelle being fit is laughable,J-rod was absolute pony when he returned and looked so far off the pace it's unreal,he will take another 2-3 months before he is even ready to get back to where he should be if he does and we all know Pelle is hit and miss

Time to let Wanyama go. He has become a liability and lost us the game, or at least the chance of a point. We now have to play the next match with a weakened midfield, although it might present Reed with an opportunity to put himself in the frame. Also Mane did us no favours either with his poor discipline meaning that Koeman did not put him on until the 80th minute. With Pelle and Rodriguez injured, we had few enough attacking options as it was, without Mane pratting about.

Typically of the last few games, we dominate and have enough chances to win the game, but suffer from really poor finishing. Long ought to have scored a brace with the chances he had. Both Fonte and Van Dijk made bad errors that would have been punished by better strikers.

We really do need to strengthen urgently in this transfer window, or we will be fighting to survive the drop if we carry on like this.

You're such a Bellend. Its koeman a team, koemans tactics. Its a perfectly reasonable question given we've lost 7 of our last 9. :mcinnes: Sums up your contribution to this forum pal.

Thats rich coming from the most self important bell end on here...

But tbh i could not give a flying f uk what you or anyone thinks of my contribution

We're in poor form, but what is the point in questioning ambition? Les Reed has said we are a 'showcase' club.We are a selling club and that won't change. It won't get any better than last season. Anyone who can't understand or deal with it and expects us to regularly challenge foe the top 6 best find a new club to support.

So what are we 'showcasing' right now then?

VvD aside, none of the players signed in the summer are going onto better things because they are all showing that we are at a stretch the best they can probably do.

We won't get relegated, as proved by the 4-0 win over Arsenal, on our day we are a very good team, and talk of sacking Koeman is ludicrous. My anger is not with him but with the board who are sitting on their ársés whilst every other team is strengthening. It seems obvious to everyone that we need a proven goalscorer and a creative attacking midfielder apart from those with the power to do something about it.

and just WHO are..." every other team" buying? The transfer window opened yesterday, and I don't see any big signings for any Prem side.yet

I suppose You know that no club can but between September and December?..

if they are "sitting on their asses"...then like us...it's in frustration...but if we are having the same conversation on January31st, we'll have something to complain about

3 goals in 7 games around the 4-0 Arsenal win is extremely poor and illustrates we need reinforcements now. If it's money we need, sell Wanyama now to fund some of it. Koeman's point is valid in is being the only side to make a profit from transfers as it hints at under investment.

He quite obviously meant the Summer where teams like West Ham, Stoke, Leicester, Crystal Palace all managed to strengthen significantly while we took several steps backwards.

Les Reed is to blame for not investing in the squad. He needs to support Koeman in the transfer market.

katherina doesn't want to provide any more cash injections into the club she runs it as a business not as a fan, I guess we can't blame her for that

Fine then sell it to someone who will take it to next level.

It was her fathers wish for saints to stay in the liebherr family so I doubt she will sell............ unless she is "made an offer she cant refuse!"

I wouldn't say it was so obvious ....we lost two of our best and bought in 7 players (?) that's more than most clubs, whose fault is it that they aren't "star players" already?

Are our current struggles down to the current owner?

Honestly I'd say mostly. Great lady and what they've done for the club as a family is amazing but I don't think she wants to take it any further which has been proved since Cortese left. So no malice to her at all but to move forward we need extra investment.

and that type of complacency by the Board is exactly why we could be relegated.

When you say investment, do you mean a new owner willing to literally spend his own money buying players and paying wages (neither of which can be done due to the current rules, I think, although I might be wrong) without ever wanting that money paid back?

If you mean, spend money by going into further debt, either to the owner or someone else, then the £60m debt we have is more than enough thanks.

This could be Michael Laudrup all over again, just without the cup win.

He was sacked in February of his second season.

ooooh. Sounds like something I would say..!!! I agree. This form cannot go on longer otherwise the board will have to take action.

As for blaming the owner.. Dont buy that at all. Ron has been backed more than any manager in my life time

I thought Laudrup was sacked because he couldn't even be bothered to turn up for work? That is not RK.
