The Argentinian could well be a good player but at 20 and moving from South America doesn’t bode well for our usual ( he will need time to adapt philosophy).

We don’t have time for anyone to adapt, Christ not many of the current crop have adapted to our style.

...thus he wont be much behind the rest of the squad.

God knows what our style actually is by the way.  It's not as though we have played long ball in all the games. The Forest game might be more of an outlier than the norm. who knows?

You are right though, going to be a tough ask for him to make an immediate impact, especially as he has not played since October is it?

Not got a problem with Keane. He was decent at Burnley.

He was 'alright' but ultimately the least good out of the crop of English defenders they had.

If were midtable and he was being brought in for a bit of cover and a 'squad player' as we'd say on FM then I'd probably be quite pleased but I don't think he's the quick fix we need.

He was also part of a very good defensive unit. We don't have one.

He is not very good unfortunately.

Keane better and more experienced in the premier league than the dross we have at the back currently. Cracks me up, let’s get some experienced premier league players in, when we are linked with them “nah don’t want him” 😂😂 29 year old, over 200 prem appearances, 12 England caps

Not sure what some people want or expect us to be able to get

Considering we are bottom of the league and we don’t pay a great wage compared to many others I think we are lucky he’s interested.

Akpom is pretty raw and could do a great job to help keep us up. Toney is delivering for Brentford so why can’t this guy?

If it fails then at least we have someone that knows the championship next season and would help take us back up again.

Chuba Akpom is 27 and according to wikipedia has scored almost a third of his career goals this season, despite knocking around second rate leagues his whole career (and has always been a striker). Can understand why some wouldn’t be excited by his potential arrival, but equally who knows, might work.

Have no idea what on earth you mean. Was merely saying Ings not keen on coming according to recent press reports. Care to explain?

Not hard.  Post you quoted was dated 4 Oct last year.

Look like open goal tap ins and penalties as well to me

Do we have a style?

Maybe even the Skates. It's funny, I know it is but I never really think of Southampton as really being on the South Coast. Something to do with Southampton Water I suppose.

I've always thought the city centre was very cut off from the sea. Western Shore was about the only experience of sea-side I had as a kid. That and the odd visit to Ocean Village, ferries from the dock or the odd trip to Highcliffe or Mudeford. So yeah; know what you mean.

Anyway, really hoping the Keane links are BS, last thing we need is another shit CB who specialises in scoring own goals.

A quote is when you knowingly repeat text. I wrote words there that perhaps mirror others (I haven't even checked). So no, I didn't quote anyone. FFS lads.

I reckon Alcarez is one of the guys already over here, sounds like that will happen.

I hope we're not setting ourselves up for disappointment on the striker front though, that simply cannot be an option. For me a ST was always the biggest priority, attacking midfielders next on the list. If we get Orsic and Alcaraz but still drop the ball on a striker then it's all rather pointless and another massive ballsup.

Beto would be good on attributes alone, but I’ve not seen any concrete links to him and we’d have seen then by now.

Is it safe to start watching YouTube videos on this guy yet? I avoided doing that for Gapko just to avoid the disappointment.

It does sound as if Alcaraz is being signed as our CM option, it doesn't seem as if he's a wide attacker.

I can't see him being the "6" that we need, seems more of a replacement for Elyounoussi/Armstrong, which is not a bad thing. Still probably need a holding midf though.

Since when is he?

His last England cap was 2020, this would be England who's centre-back talent pool is so great that Harry Maguire is a nailed on starter despite being in the worst form of his life for the last year pretty much and making horrendous mistakes with regularity. During which period Tyrone Mings, who has struggled to get into poor Villa side has got into the England team ahead of Keane.

This is also Keane who can't get into a terrible Everton team this season and was part of that same bad Everton team last year.

At his best he was never that good, average at best and that 'best' was like 3-4 years ago.

'Experienced' PL player, AKA, over rated English dross that will be on high wages. He is not better than what we have got, I'd rather have Stephens back to be honest.

What's so great about this Beto?

He's clearly flavour of the month.

We've no idea have we ? But if you look at the Youtube  of him (Steve DE Ridder caveat noted of course) he looks fairly dynamic, with a bit more skill than the other names floated around. In a couple of clips he reminded me of Cyrille Regis when he was first discovered. Having said that he might in truth be a labouring carthorse, but at 6'5" or whatever would at least make a change from the labouring donkeys..

He's probably already built up in mongboard mythology, as its been decided it won't be him.
