He’s actually just sat in a press conference and tried to paint dropping points to Motherwell and at home to Dundee as “part of a 5-match unbeaten run”. This after saying after the Dundee game “I was pleased we didn’t lose”. They are losing their shit at him, saying he doesn’t understand the culture, has a loser’s mentality etc. As far as they are concerned, a Rangers manager should expect to win every game. They aren’t buying his spin at all. He was always going to be under a lot more scrutiny up there but it’s incredible how quickly they have turned. Good post. His deficiencies were known before he got here, and it amazes me that we tolerated him for so long, and that some people wanted him to be given more time. He's a terrible manager, and fair play to the Rangers fans for calling him out so soon. 7

The total, unwavering commitment to such a deeply and obviously flawed principle. The falling upwards. I must admit, he fascinates me. (Not in a gay way) (Well maybe a bit, at the beginning. But not now) It is well known that what he is peddling is snake-oil yet he continues to find more suckers willing to buy it. Have to take your hat off to him for that. For a guy with very little coaching talent he's managed to secure some decent jobs and made a lot of money along the way. 1

There was even a fan at the recent forum suggesting we should have stuck with Martin no matter what last season. You can't go to Rangers and champion being unbeaten with draws against Motherwell and Dundee 1

If he carries on being so crap, not even his splendid hair will give him a media career to fall back on. He should have gone from us to TV imo. 1
beatlesaint Posted Tuesday at 10:38 Posted Tuesday at 10:38 In all seriousness if it goes tits up at Rangers its hard to see where he goes from there. Championship at best I suppose !

franniesTache Posted Tuesday at 12:12 Posted Tuesday at 12:12 (edited) They're already asking when he's going to leave 🤣 https://www.followfollow.com/forum/threads/at-what-point-will-they-realise-they-have-made-a-mistake.304807/ My favourite quote from there is "How long a contract did he get? He is that bad the players won't even need to down tools to shift him, they just need to follow his instructions." 🤣 Edited Tuesday at 12:15 by franniesTache 10

coalman Posted Tuesday at 17:48 Posted Tuesday at 17:48 Victoria's Secret grab a goal before half time and on top. Could be the end of the unbeaten run.
S-Clarke Posted Tuesday at 19:49 Posted Tuesday at 19:49 The natives are really not up for this Martin train. Plzten hit them with 28 shots today, could have got 4 or 5 goals on another night. His defensive coaching is still top notch. 1

Must be closing in on a centenary faced from half-a-dozen games and still to face a genuinely decent team. Fraud of a manager. Could be very toxic at Ibrox if Celtic do them over next. 2

A very familiar story I don't really get what that's showing. Did the really not manage a single pass on the final third (on either side of the pitch, other than the keeper?). Seems unlikely. 1

Rangers scored a goal as well....I've not seen the highlights but going from that map presumably it was a shot from somewhere near the halfway line
coalman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago At least it counts as a win though, right? As they went through. Definitely not the tactics as the bearded excuse monkey clearly explains in his post match. So that's a relief. 1

It shows the average position of each player making and receiving successful passes, not the precise location of each one. 1
coalman Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago For those failing to understand the genius of Martin's system, here's a comprehensive breakdown which is in no way a long winded justification of a series of risky passing moves.

And that's it working as intended. With the help of the opposition, whose system allows them to get moved about. Controlled, risk managed possession with a quick transition when it was right to do so. We've seen Saints knock it back and forth across the back three or four times, to get this and it can work. Martin's issue is that it's a lot tougher to move teams around who are setting themselves up to defend. In that clip you had 6, going to 5 as the ball is played forward, in the Rangers half, with the front three central and bypassed. Perfect for Martin's side to exploit, and credit to them. Against sides that aren't chasing a game, are solidly defending and won't budge moving it about doesn't work so well. It allows them to set more, and his side lose momentum and you can hear that from the fans. 2
