They are losing their shit at him, saying he doesn’t understand the culture, has a loser’s mentality etc. As far as they are concerned, a Rangers manager should expect to win every game. They aren’t buying his spin at all. He was always going to be under a lot more scrutiny up there but it’s incredible how quickly they have turned. 

Good post. His deficiencies were known before he got here, and it amazes me that we tolerated him for so long, and that some people wanted him to be given more time. He's a terrible manager, and fair play to the Rangers fans for calling him out so soon.

It is well known that what he is peddling is snake-oil yet he continues to find more suckers willing to buy it. Have to take your hat off to him for that. For a guy with very little coaching talent he's managed to secure some decent jobs and made a lot of money along the way.

totally agree. There was even a fan at the recent forum suggesting we should have stuck with Martin no matter what last season.

You can't go to Rangers and champion being unbeaten with draws against Motherwell and Dundee

28 shots! Must be closing in on a centenary faced from half-a-dozen games and still to face a genuinely decent team. Fraud of a manager. Could be very toxic at Ibrox if Celtic do them over next.

I don't really get what that's showing. Did the really not manage a single pass on the final third (on either side of the pitch, other than the keeper?). Seems unlikely.

Rangers scored a goal as well....I've not seen the highlights but going from that map presumably it was a shot from somewhere near the halfway line

It shows the average position of each player making and receiving successful passes, not the precise location of each one.

And that's it working as intended. With the help of the opposition, whose system allows them to get moved about. Controlled, risk managed possession with a quick transition when it was right to do so.

We've seen Saints knock it back and forth across the back three or four times, to get this and it can work.

Martin's issue is that it's a lot tougher to move teams around who are setting themselves up to defend. In that clip you had 6, going to 5 as the ball is played forward, in the Rangers half, with the front three central and bypassed. Perfect for Martin's side to exploit, and credit to them.

Against sides that aren't chasing a game, are solidly defending and won't budge moving it about doesn't work so well. It allows them to set more, and his side lose momentum and you can hear that from the fans.
