He’s actually just sat in a press conference and tried to paint dropping points to Motherwell and at home to Dundee as “part of a 5-match unbeaten run”. This after saying after the Dundee game “I was pleased we didn’t lose”. They are losing their shit at him, saying he doesn’t understand the culture, has a loser’s mentality etc. As far as they are concerned, a Rangers manager should expect to win every game. They aren’t buying his spin at all. He was always going to be under a lot more scrutiny up there but it’s incredible how quickly they have turned. Good post. His deficiencies were known before he got here, and it amazes me that we tolerated him for so long, and that some people wanted him to be given more time. He's a terrible manager, and fair play to the Rangers fans for calling him out so soon. 9

The total, unwavering commitment to such a deeply and obviously flawed principle. The falling upwards. I must admit, he fascinates me. (Not in a gay way) (Well maybe a bit, at the beginning. But not now) It is well known that what he is peddling is snake-oil yet he continues to find more suckers willing to buy it. Have to take your hat off to him for that. For a guy with very little coaching talent he's managed to secure some decent jobs and made a lot of money along the way. 1

There was even a fan at the recent forum suggesting we should have stuck with Martin no matter what last season. You can't go to Rangers and champion being unbeaten with draws against Motherwell and Dundee 2

If he carries on being so crap, not even his splendid hair will give him a media career to fall back on. He should have gone from us to TV imo. 1
beatlesaint Posted August 12 Posted August 12 In all seriousness if it goes tits up at Rangers its hard to see where he goes from there. Championship at best I suppose !

He is that bad the players won't even need to down tools to shift him, they just need to follow his instructions." 🤣 Edited August 12 by franniesTache 13

coalman Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Victoria's Secret grab a goal before half time and on top. Could be the end of the unbeaten run.
S-Clarke Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The natives are really not up for this Martin train. Plzten hit them with 28 shots today, could have got 4 or 5 goals on another night. His defensive coaching is still top notch. 1

Must be closing in on a centenary faced from half-a-dozen games and still to face a genuinely decent team. Fraud of a manager. Could be very toxic at Ibrox if Celtic do them over next. 2

Rangers scored a goal as well....I've not seen the highlights but going from that map presumably it was a shot from somewhere near the halfway line
coalman Posted August 13 Posted August 13 At least it counts as a win though, right? As they went through. Definitely not the tactics as the bearded excuse monkey clearly explains in his post match. So that's a relief. 1

coalman Posted August 13 Posted August 13 For those failing to understand the genius of Martin's system, here's a comprehensive breakdown which is in no way a long winded justification of a series of risky passing moves. 1

And that's it working as intended. With the help of the opposition, whose system allows them to get moved about. Controlled, risk managed possession with a quick transition when it was right to do so. We've seen Saints knock it back and forth across the back three or four times, to get this and it can work. Martin's issue is that it's a lot tougher to move teams around who are setting themselves up to defend. In that clip you had 6, going to 5 as the ball is played forward, in the Rangers half, with the front three central and bypassed. Perfect for Martin's side to exploit, and credit to them. Against sides that aren't chasing a game, are solidly defending and won't budge moving it about doesn't work so well. It allows them to set more, and his side lose momentum and you can hear that from the fans. 4

Colinjb Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Rangers finally showing their mettle against the mighty... Wait, let's see............... Alloa Athletic. Oh.
beatlesaint Posted August 16 Posted August 16 If you want a laugh just type Russell Martin into the search on X and go to latest posts tab 🤣 1
S-Clarke Posted August 16 Posted August 16 He can't even coach a defence to keep out Alloa Athletic. He'll never change, which is why he'll be jobless within the next 8 weeks. 2

coalman Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Rangers fans already sick of hearing how well they trained and how it's good learning. The counter camp says he just needs time and to sign more players (he's brought ten in this window). Looks like another team is getting left with a bloated unfit team conditioned to play suicidal passes. 1
Midfield_General Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Sounds like they are about to sign Meghoma to sort out their issues at left back

AlexLaw76 Posted Tuesday at 17:02 Posted Tuesday at 17:02 have they yet conceded a goal from ridiculous/needless passing out from the keeper?
Midfield_General Posted Tuesday at 18:07 Posted Tuesday at 18:07 Meghoma signed on loan 48 hours ago and goes straight into the starting XI for a critical CL qualifier. Big call.
