Really?! Haven't seen anything on here since I put him on mute quite some years ago, and he knows that too. Without getting too personal, you only have to look at the thread subjects he starts in The Lounge and the number of contributions on them to get a measure of the guy. Someone I know who knows him in real life says he's ok, which potentially makes him even sadder as an on-line bully. Thanks for your concern Verbal,  but don't worry about me.

As for Martin, he certainly will have been maxing out his ISAs for a number of years, and he seems to have the knack of getting quite highly paid free time through contracts (presumably) being paid up. Which team will now suffer from poor defending, sideways passing and a pedestrian attack from his firm conviction that winning badly is a bad thing?

I’d be interested to know who it is that knows me, I’m a bit of big name so no surprises someone is claiming to know me, it happens a lot. I mean who wouldn’t want to hang out with someone who’s got over 40 lol reactions to a single forum post?

If it was seven rounds then obviously they didn’t have a clue if it takes that many to come to a positive conclusion. 

Yes, when I'm recruiting for my team, I follow a very simple approach:

- do you have relevant experience?

- are you clever?

- what are your motivations?

- are you female / fit?

If I get four positives, they're in. No dicking around.

 

Edit: I omitted the 4th question once and hired a geezer to head-off some rumours.

His ego will demand that he goes for at least one more job in a few months' time. If I try and think of the most arrogant option possible, that means he goes abroad to join a club in La Liga with the aim of touting himself for the ultimate prize, the Barcelona job. If things get really desperate (as they inevitably will), he could thereafter land on his feet in Turkey or America, before finally settling into managerial retirement with Sky Sports. 

On the other hand, if Lucy wants to stay in England then EFL teams like West Brom or Leicester need to watch out in case Martin ends up there. 

If he managed to blag his way into Ibrox after his spell with us in the Prem, he knows he can pull the same stunt in any boardroom. He'll be updating the CV and burnishing the book of excuses as we write.

In the business of crisis management Danny Rohl served his apprenticeship at Sheffield Wednesday. 

As wacky a place as Wednesday was - and is - under the ownership of Thai tuna tycoon Dejphon Chansiri, the German's time there can be seen as an 89-game warm-up routine. 

From frying pan to furnace, Rohl is the new Rangers head coach.

He becomes the eighth permanent manager/head coach of the Ibrox club in little over a decade and the 16th when you factor in all those interim guys who have drifted across their landscape.

There was a lot of horse shoe football yesturday atthe Saints U21 v Real Madrid U21 game. Real did the side to side nonsense 5 times in row before losing the ball. So even at U21 level the players are still being coached no different them when RM was at Saints. And tgd game was like 1st team some great play but large chunks of the game very boring.

Thank goodness.  I thought it was only me. I was dipping in and out of the game admittedly, but I saw a lot of halfway line passing back and forth, then out to the wing, then forward for a bit up to near the penalty area but then back down the wing and along the halfway line again. I thought it was pointless and tedious. 

Around the Saints-based Internet, I have seen posters saying what a good game it was. 

Honestly, if football is getting more and more like this and people are thinking it is 'great' or 'good' I might have to stick to ice-hockey more. At least you can say there were goals in a 9-6 win!

What upset me about last night was that on two occasions in the first half we had 1) a free kick on the left wing in the final third and 2) a throw in on the right wing same area; both times just two touches to get the ball BACK to Bazanu!!

So absurd and wasteful. Why not cross the ball into the penalty area? Who coaches them to do that?

Well, at least we wont have to watch another team for our weekly Martin LOLz

However, he is the only manager SR have appointed that has won more than 2 league games, so you never know LOLOLOL

All it means is they’ve received a large number of bits for him to return. Means absolute jack shit in the grand scheme of things.

Russell Martin fell out with the hierarchy big time when he left, he fell out with players too. So for him to even be considered to return something monumental must’ve happened.

In all honesty I'd be open to it with the option to review if we get promoted.

Better manager than Still, knows the league and can actually win a game or two of football. Already knows the lads and infrastructure so can hit the ground running.

Yes he can be a onion and has a ego but least he has a good rapport with players and can get them doing something.... 

I think we are in a position  where we can't afford to be fussy
