Badger Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Smallbone - good signing for the league he’ll be in. But not fit and a couple of weeks away I read. Doesn’t this have a familiar ring to it for a Lego signing? 1

Badger Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Shame really, as amusing as it is. But Savage always seems a bigger arsehole than Lego. 2

Midfield_General Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago No. 1 in the league for possession. 19th in the league for points.

A sweeper/keeper capable of helping out the defensive passing, and an all rounder capable of making all those Russ transitions work. Leicester got the right man, but have yet to give him the right players on the park. Hopefully Alex picked up some things from Baz, and Will isn't far away. Shame to see such a coach under pressure considering. But, after such a slide, they must give Russ the time. The players have to learn, or they are out. Russ will reshape that club, removing that scar tissue and make up them a real non league contender. 1 1
trousers Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Apart from the forum contrarians, of course, (although most of the 'Russball Fan Club' seem to have gone a tad quiet of late...), can we all now agree that we (just about) got promoted in spite of him, not because of him...? THEY didn’t follow the process, THEY had so much anxiety which is no wonder seeing as how THEY have been shit for years. WE had 20 shots at goals, 70% possession but THEY couldn’t turn it into goals. I think his time in the Championship with us will be seen as his greatest achievement. Im going to stand by my opinion of him. He didn’t do a bad job with us in that division. I think he probably underachieved a little bit, but ultimately he got us promoted which was the goal. I’ve said before, the last ten minutes away at Sheff Wed where we didn’t allow them a single touch was something I’d never seen before with Saints. But our defensive capability for conceding was really quite something. Pretty much everyone said after we went up “if we carry on playing like that we’ll get murdered”. And so it came to pass. That’s his main weakness, he’s 100% wedded to the process and incapable of changing it. I don’t particularly dislike the bloke, and I feel a bit sorry for Leicester fans. He’d be better off moving into the media and talking about football for a living, because to be fair he’s pretty good at talking waffle. 4

More shots, and they've missed 3 big chances. Flashscore says they had a xG of 2.43 to Posh's 1.52 You can see they are working so hard, and are so close to it all clicking. Just the scoring and the conceding things to sort out. Then you'll see them race up that table. Will's nearly there. Just have to hold on through this spell.

Midfield_General Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Throwing the players under the bus post-match 1
Britannia Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago No way they're getting a third relegation surely? Their fans seem to think so.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Watching the 2 min highlights on Sky:- The first 2 goals were directly from every opponent knowing the gaps Martin wants left at full backs. Both direct balls into those areas. On both occasions, the reacting defender has then been beaten, leading to the goal. Martin will blame the defender for not being strong enough in the challenge, smart enough to push him wide and for the others not to race back quickly enough to help cover. Both are known risks from RussBall. The third was a bit of a deflection. I only saw one of Leicester's "big misses" in there. Like with a lot of Martin's shots at goal, his reset strategy on every move allows for plenty of defenders to be around the efforts. 2

Excuse-wise, he's really playing the hits now: His interview: He says that the tactics aren't to blame for the goals being conceded. Goals against are usually because of individual errors. We're fragile at the back because people don't do their jobs. We're not clinical up front, especially when teams defend as though their life depends on it. Sometimes we need to do the ugly stuff in big moments, to settle us after we concede. The team is young. I tell them to get it forward and do the ugly side of the game, I don't know why they don't do it. There will be changes for the next game There's no point in changing the manager. 2

One observation I must note is, when Onions Mcgraw was appointed at Rangers there was Southampton and Swansea fans on Rangers forums warning us, and they gave us this Guys whole MO and everything they said came to pass. St. Ciervo Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The foxes' best bet is for a new owner to come in and mould the team to their liking (ie firing RM).

There's the cost against what rules are there for them this season. IIRC they kept on RVN until the moment the financial year ended. Because the compensation would have resulted in them breaking the PSR limits, resulting in points deductions.
