If he's still here in Feb it probably tells you how other coaches see him! We've pretty much said to anyone he's available, I read that we were willing to cover 100% wages as well just to ensure he got a club.

No, they suggest that there’s very little tabloid or agent interest in a reserve goalkeeper going on loan for six months, so there’s probably very little to be gained in making up bullsh*t click bait. He’s only been back in contention for reserve games for a week or two and it’s barely been four days since Juric said we’d loan him out.

I for one would be interested to see how he gets on without suicidal defences playing in front of him. He's had two seasons with saints - one being the absolute car crash relegation from the prem (and when he was very inexperienced himself), and the other being Martin's transition and then total adoption of propaganda football.

I think it's the Edozie and Bazunu derby in a few weeks.

Edozie must be counting a couple of goals in the bank. Shoot low and with decent-ish power and he’s scored regardless. Could be a heavy defeat for Liege.

On first glance Standard Leige feels like very left field, but then I read that Fergal Harkin was previously player loan manager at Man City and now Director of Football at Leige. I guess that shows just how much personal relationships come into affect with a lot of football transfers. 

Interesting that the Standard Leige goalkeeping coach was done for match fixing when a player at Bari in 2009.

TBF I don’t think even Feargal Sharkey would get Gavin off his line to claim the ball.

A good heart along with sweeper keeping should see Baz okay. 🙂

Good to see him back fit from injury and hope he develops further on loan.

The second goal was the worst blooper, near post, low, not that firmly struck should be around the post or further across at a angle less likely to present a tap-in.

Nearly a calamity coming off his line getting bullied and then glued to it in the second half.

Cheltenham Town have genuinely got two better keepers than him. Whoever sanctioned £14m should be arrested for fraud. But our coaching has made him even worse than the League One keeper he was before.

You could only really blame him for the second goal, but from the highlights looked like his typical saints performance where he makes a cock up, is bulled when coming off his line ( which is rare) and he doesn't make a notable save. 

After the season we have had then it doesn't seem fair on any of us to have to put him with him again next season.

TBH I’ll be quite happy to see him back next season. He’s a perfectly decent Championship keeper and it’s mildly amusing to watch the same people throwing an absolute tantrum at every goal we concede. The fact that people are piling into him now, playing his first competitive football in nearly a year, behind a clearly crap defence, just shows how much people want to hate him.

Seriously? You don’t need to hate Baz just because he’s quite clearly a liability on a professional football field above L2 level - he can’t help it.

Not many keepers saving that 3rd goal from that range. 2nd goal though has to push it out for a corner or hold it, similarities to our goal at Ipswich.

It genuinely baffles me what it is you see in him that nobody else does.

Having watched the majority of his games for us over two seasons, what I see is a weak and indecisive keeper, who has very poor positioning (forever being excused for not saving something due to being 'unsighted'), has no command of his area whatsoever, constantly flaps when he does decide to come out for a cross, and rarely saves anything that isn't straight at him.

Never once have I seen him put in a MOTM performance or make an outstanding save to keep us in a game or secure us a point or more.

How on Earth does that qualify as being a "perfectly decent Championship keeper"?

I was prepared to give him the Championship season to demonstrate the value for the multi-million outlay, having had a baptism of fire in the Premier League at such a young age.  But having watched all the home games last year, and a fair few aways (and then watched all the long form highlights in the summer), I'm struggling to remember many (any?) games where we only got something out of it due to the keeper - apart from Preston away but I don't mean that type of impact.   And there were a number of games where I thought how on earth did that go in - Rotherham, Watford, Ipswich and Millwall to name four off the top of my head.

Hopefully he can regain fitness and then demonstrate he's improved, or Russell can buy him for £15M when he pitches up at Norwich in the summer.

Yet they fail to recognise that every defence he plays behind gets noticeably worse

I hope Russell gets a championship gig soon so he can come in for his players. Not sure if anyone else would take them.

He's obviously a poor keeper at this level,  but he did make a decent save against WBA away last season that was important at the time. Apart from the Preston game that's has already been referenced, I can't recall another. 
 

As someone said the best chance of getting rid is for RM to get a championship club and you'd think he'd be keen to take Bazanu and hopefully some of the other crap we have accumulated.

You know fuck all mush.

I find it incredible that Bazunu earns a fill-time wage from football.  I’ve seen better shot-stoppers in the Wessex League.
