Wouldn't put it past them to try and re-hire Russ, given that he's available and has experience of getting us promoted from this league.

We seem to have a fan base of self harmers. When will we learn that you cant keep swaping managers. Give Still a fair crack at it FFS. I always thought that getting rid of Puel was a mistake, and we have lost our way since

I do not subscribe to the view that Rohl was our "first choice".

We hired Still immediately, in May. There was no prevarication, no options, no approaches, no waiting, no time for rumours or speculation.

Will Still was our first choice this summer and we got him.

I’m not sure. I reckon Rohl could have been top of the list, but as soon as Sheff Wed starting talking about a hefty compensation clause he immediately went out of the reckoning. I seem to recall Sheff Wed’s owner made a very public proclamation about it at the time, could have been 2+2=5 or could’ve been we made an enquiry and got told to stump up.

Well, SWFC were and are skint.

We would have known what it would have taken to get Rohl from back in December but we did not put in an offer, make any move or even sit it out for even a fortnight. 

What we did do is appoint a manager at literally the earliest possible opportunity.

I don’t disagree with what you say. I think we knew there was a hefty compensation fee being touted for Rohl and as a consequence he wasn’t really in the running, IMO.

Maybe you're both right.... Still and Rohl could've been 'joint top' candidates and they simply ended up going for the one that was the simplest / quickest option out of the two....?
