These last two days have been ridiculous. I said we had to be in for an existing few days, and we certainly have.

This signing is top. Exactly the sort I wanted way way back in July when Still mentioned his requirement for wingers, he was that no brainer, championship tested and top championship quality signing which would make all the difference.

We've pulled off the best deal of the window here. The fee is just nonsense, I have no idea what that's all about.

I'm a bit worried if he'll be able to step up to the PL, but I was assuming we'd have to pay £15m+! At 8m+2m it feels like a lot less of a gamble, as I said before their fans must be absolutely fuming. 🤯

I really want to fall in love with the Saints again. Feels like it is happening.

Don't get me wrong, I love the club; but the last few years i don't feel like i have been in love with the club (if that makes any sense)

the last 24 hours has given me butterflies.

I'm with you. Echoing my feelings on things entirely.

Start the day by selling Matty and finish the day with a stonking trio of signings for this level.

Tidy.

More please! 🤪

Sounds like from what Mr Fellows is saying that exact same atmosphere is needed for the blue lot as when we played West Brom in the playoff semi at home.

We need that, good to hear the players saying it, spread the word

Bit of a weird thing for him to say really, he made it sound like the deal was nowhere near being done. I'd be pissed off if I was an Albion fan after that.

I thought that. Seems off when it was basically done and signed

His managerial inexperience showing there I think.

Welcome to Saints, Tom!

A long time ago I was a fellow direct, old-school rightsided winger - so nothing pleases me more than watching good old fashioned wing play. Not seen to much of that lately...

Players like this is why I watch football!

Judging by the video Saints just posted you could presume this was done on Tuesday, all the players in their tracksuits look like they’re on the way out - maybe to Norwich away? 👀

Or Watford away.

Although this makes me glad we got Tom, it just makes me also question why we didn't sign Josh Maja as well!!!

Fellows is a proper run at the left back and get the ball in type of winger.

Thankfully, we are no longer "trusting the processes", otherwise he would be utterly wasted here

Looked good at Sunderland, then bounced around a bit at a level too high for him and then found his proper level in the championship. Seems to know where the net is. Hopefully Stewart and Downs will find it too.

They should be buzzing with this singning, more than us!

Cumin, stale Carling, prawns two weeks beyond their sell by date, onion left in the bin the day before collection, three week old 🥦 in the fridge, old unwashed clothes and ammonia.

Probably far worse in real life.

Happy to be wrong on this but I get the feeling fellows could flop pretty bad for us even though it looked a bargain .. for all the assists he had at wba huge amount  of them came from crosses which simply just doesn’t suit  our strikers , he doesn’t look particularly fast and tricky either .. personally I feel wingers like Robinson scienza or  even edozie would be a better fit as they give you more then just crosses

Can see where you’re coming from but if he’s supplying decent crosses into the box and we can’t find a way to score from them then I think that says more about the rest of the team than it does Fellows.

He is quality.

Think you’re right, a player I had hoped we might be in for, but didn’t think he’d be available for us. Expected £15m plus, and EPL bound.

But think Revolution has a point that we might not be able to take advantage of his crossing.

Nah fam, he’s gonna be huge. Just get his song going:

Look at the Saints

Look how they shine for you

And who was playing it through

It was Tom Fellows

We’ve scored again

And it was crossed from the right

Playing in red and white

It was Tom Fellows

There has been nothing yet to suggest that he is or will turn into a “quality player/singing”.

A couple of step overs and a cross into the box doesn’t make him Ronaldo.

I would actually argue he slows the game down when he plays.

Azaz is in a similar boat, nothing to suggest he’ll turn into anything other than a big standard CM. Handed has looked very composed and impressive so far.

You are a skate aren’t you. Not sure I’ve seen anything on a positive note about SFC from you. Like I sad previously PO post code doesn’t help.

as to Fellows - I said earlier he is quality and I’m glad we have him in our squad. Intelligent footballers are a premium product and our squad would be less capable without him.

I’ve had a season ticket at Southampton since I was nine years old up until around four years ago, thank you.
Since then life gets in the way and I go to the odd sporadic game but try and listen on the radio every week.

I wasn’t aware that users weren’t allowed to have opinions on fan forums. If you haven’t seen anything positive then you’re either actively looking for something negative or you’re disregarding other things I have said. 🙄

Positives so far this season: signings of Jander and Scienza, the former looking particularly good so far and an upgrade on Downes - who clearly doesn’t want to be here, quite frankly he should’ve been kicked out last January or this summer.

You're after positives, that starts on the pitch, is either GK particularly great? No.
Did we hand out a contract extension to a rash captain who is questionable at this level? Yes.
Did we sign another donkey of a striker? So far, you’d argue, yes.
Have Fellows and Azaz, our two “big” signings with Championship experience done much in their first four or five games apiece, no.

The above is just facts. I’m intrigued to know what bits you disagree with? 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

If the team and players start performing then great, but there are huge question marks over this style of play, players, ability, leadership etc. So yeah I think most fans do have a right to be a little fed up at the moment.

It shouldn’t be up to the fans to gee up players that are earning more in a week than what most of us make in a year.

Fellows has played 140 minutes of Championship football so far for us (so not even 2 games), Finn has played 3 times in the League.

So your "facts" are not facts

Oooh triggered.

frankly willo I couldn’t give a shiney shit about your saints supporting past. It doesn’t make you view either more or less valid.

the players you are calling out have had next to no time to get familiar with their team mates - I’m sure they will and you might have to eat humble pie.

if you can’t take a positive from the game against LFC then I’m not sure you will ever see a positive.

what the players get paid is inconsequential. Getting behind the team is part of being a fan.

apparently capt Jack has not been the problem so far (according to some).

the donkey you refer to is an international that gets picked by a very good manager. Is trying to settle into a foreign country and has been called back to play for his national side all within a few weeks.

as for fellows and Azaz if you can’t see some of the quality they possess then I suggest you take your blue tinted (sorry couldn’t resist) glasses off and watch again.

It’s kinda like Ryan Fraser commenting that he wished we had someone like mcburnie to get on his crosses ..certain strikers can turn a average cross into a good one but we don’t have that at all . It’s not always as simple as so and so hit x amount off assists for his past club so it happens here too

Not all crosses are the same though and Fellows has shown enough variation previously. He can play it in the air, along the ground, cut back to the penalty spot for a midfield runner or a dink to the back post. If he’s doing that and we’re not scoring then you can’t blame him - that’s a team issue.

Definitely a good performance today, for someone who looks pretty weedy he can get about a bit. Much more encouraging.

There were a couple of times when he’d overdo it rather than make a pass but I thought he and Adam Armstrong (the two wide players today) were very good.

He was definitely run into the ground, was a good time to sub him off as he was getting a few kicks towards the end.
