Because we've been utterly shite for the past 4 years. Managed promotion with money and a bit of luck, but that turned out to be a false dawn. Not excuses just perhaps managing expectations. Having said all that I am expecting a win today.

bangkoksaint Posted Saturday at 12:02 Posted Saturday at 12:02 Just arrived in the car park. Absolutely hammering it down. Hopefully not bad enough to bring the game into doubt
Mboto Gorge Posted Saturday at 12:06 Posted Saturday at 12:06 I’ve been up here since yesterday evening and it’s been pissing down since midday, going to be very wet underfoot , as it’s forecast to be heavy until the early hours of tomorrow.
SNSUN Posted Saturday at 12:15 Posted Saturday at 12:15 The Prediction Wheel, reliable once all season. It is as pointless as Albert Gronbaek's signing. It is as accurate as Guido Carillo and as useless as Ali Dia. And yet here we are. Let's see if it predicts a huge win for Saints. Screen_Recording_20250920_131056_Samsung Internet.mp4 No. No it's doesn't. But that's possibly a good thing. It basks in the glory of getting the opening day result right against Wrexham and to hell with the rest of the season. Personally I think we'll win. It won't be pretty, it won't be comprehensive, but I think we'll have enough. And then there's Liverpool...

Thereisonlyonemickychannon Posted Saturday at 12:23 Posted Saturday at 12:23 After Wrexham it has only got worse. Especially the awful football against Portsmouth. Bloody dreadful that was. So Will Still it is about time you showed me that you can gee up my team and play some exciting, hard fought football and bloody win today! 2

hypochondriac Posted Saturday at 12:47 Posted Saturday at 12:47 Other than maybe Downs that's the team I would have played. Big opportunity for the lad I hope he takes it. 2
Wade Garrett Posted Saturday at 12:47 Posted Saturday at 12:47 Major surprise playing Downs up front. I feel sorry for Archer. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted Saturday at 12:47 Posted Saturday at 12:47 That should be good enough- 0 - 2 Saints Downs to get the first.

Saint NL Posted Saturday at 12:48 Posted Saturday at 12:48 Downs? I'm surprised. The rest is as expected. Big game for Downs, let's see what he can do with some service. 1
Saint Matty 76 Posted Saturday at 12:48 Posted Saturday at 12:48 Happy to see Downs get a go. Would’ve started Robinson though who is desperately unlucky to have fallen out of favour. 3

sotonric Posted Saturday at 12:51 Posted Saturday at 12:51 2 minutes ago, Wade Garrett said: Major surprise playing Downs up front. I feel sorry for Archer. Indeed. But perhaps there's a cunning plan afoot to find a striker and style-of-play option that actually match each other (I say that in hope, not in any knowledge that we'll actually be able to play to our striker's strengths!).
Saint NL Posted Saturday at 12:51 Posted Saturday at 12:51 Wasn't Downes supposed to be ill? He's on the bench. It gives the whole "long term illness" theory a bit of credibility.
benjii Posted Saturday at 12:53 Posted Saturday at 12:53 Depressing that Quarshie and Edwards can't even get on the bench ahead of Wood. Anyhow, up the Saints. Let's hope they don't go out and play like bellends again. 2
