tdmickey3 Posted Saturday at 15:22 Posted Saturday at 15:22 Who is buzzin for this after today's........ fantastic point
AlexLaw76 Posted Saturday at 15:24 Posted Saturday at 15:24 Expect 3/5 man defence, possibly Fellows right wing back, possibly Arma up top on his own. Fully expect a 30 mins (or so) purple patch, and fully expect lots of long passes that come to very little. Rinse and repeat. 1
CamSaint Posted Saturday at 15:31 Posted Saturday at 15:31 Still said on the OS that Jelert had pulled something in his groin or thigh, so I assume he must be a doubt for this game.
LGTL Posted Saturday at 16:43 Posted Saturday at 16:43 Comfortable defeat. Our record there is pathetic anyway, before you factor in our useless manager. 2 2
Osvaldorama Posted Saturday at 16:46 Posted Saturday at 16:46 (edited) Hate to say it, but agree. Another loss. Don’t see us beating anyone with this forward line and such awful tactics Edited Saturday at 16:46 by Osvaldorama 1
BARCELONASAINT Posted Saturday at 16:46 Posted Saturday at 16:46 The issue is even if we play well no one can see where a goal is going to come from so you start thinking "at best we can get a draw" and that is just bloody depressing! 6

It's a proper bogey ground for us. Wasn't it where we ended our 25 games unbeaten run under Martin? I'm afraid Mr Still's magnificent 4 game unbeaten run will probably go the same way. I've said the same thing in every build up thread, just can't see where the goals will come from, draw at best 3
die Mannyschaft Posted Saturday at 16:51 Posted Saturday at 16:51 Taking my son to this game as his birthday treat. Its a big away following and the Saints will be up for it. We will be going looking to get 3 points. If we have more players out injured and haven't purchased or got a free loan striker by Monday midnight its a draw. It won't be like today when we totally dominated the game. Start with same 11 as today. Bristol City 1-2 Saints on paper Bristol City 0-0 Saints, we will play Harum ball (or whatever the teenagers call it) with 5, 6 or even 7 at back. Two coaches going up and they will be parked in front of McCarthy 1 1

This season has a familiar pattern to last season. Lack of goals, no striker, odd tactics. Rather than just going to a game thinkg will it be 2-0, 3-0, 2-1 its now how can we draw, this player is injured, this player is not replying that good but if X does this and Y does that, A now starts performing, Bristol have 2 sent off, Bristol have no goal keeper we may get a draw. 1
Hopper Posted Saturday at 17:28 Posted Saturday at 17:28 (edited) Honestly bring it on. We need games to build some semblance of consistency the international breaks have been utter bollocks. Edited Saturday at 17:28 by Hopper 5
sockeye Posted Saturday at 17:33 Posted Saturday at 17:33 What I do like about the lower leagues is that when the season gets going, the games come thick and fast and midweek fixtures like this are common. They are doing well. I still believe we have enough quality to defeat them. However it hinges on us taking our chances, which we have not done. Please just use players in the correct positions, Still. 1
Lighthouse Posted Saturday at 17:40 Posted Saturday at 17:40 A fixture we’ve lost every time we’ve played it since 1979. Bring it on. 4

Wade Garrett Posted Saturday at 18:47 Posted Saturday at 18:47 Probably another draw and more 5 at the back from the clueless Ginger fuckwit. 2 1 2
RedWillie Posted Saturday at 18:55 Posted Saturday at 18:55 3.0 Bristol. And more dull, post match face scratching, shiftyness from our uninspiring leader. 3 1
Patches O Houlihan Posted Saturday at 19:11 Posted Saturday at 19:11 Jelert is out, and they might not risk Welington coming back from injury. So I think we see the same team, but Fellows in for Jelert, and Manning in for Wely. I think we'll win 1
Osvaldorama Posted Saturday at 20:10 Posted Saturday at 20:10 Tbh I actually want him to keep the same 11 for this game. There was a 15min spell we looked good. Chopping and changing with 5 changes every week just isn’t working.. he needs to find his best 11 and some consistency. Well, actually he needed to weeks ago, but he really needs to now… 7

Mboto Gorge Posted Saturday at 22:13 Posted Saturday at 22:13 We always seem to get turned over here and I just can’t see us getting a result the way things are going. 2-1 defeat

east-stand-nic Posted yesterday at 06:24 Posted yesterday at 06:24 Interestingly, Bristol City have a pretty poor home form so far this season. They seem to do much better away. Home form shows only one win so far. PL 5 - W 1 - D 2 - L 2 - F 7 - A 8 - GD - -1 I would thinks very odds on for yet another draw, 1-1 perhaps. We all know we need to win but I have given up hoping for w3ins now and instead just watch the game and wait and see. I think it is crystal clear we will not be getting to the play offs this time around. I just hope, with the lower parachute payment next season we can do a Leeds. But the way SR spend I think we are done for and going to be in the league or worse for quite some time.

Watched some of their game v Oxford and wasn't impressed , I think we'll struggle against their style though, we'll lose the ball in midfield they'll hit us on counter, also have big lad up top who is a bit of a handful

The police went a bit wild with dogs and horses afterwards. Brilliant night. That was the last time I went there. I’m going Tuesday, so all we need our current version on Micky Channon, to get us the points. 2
rooney Posted yesterday at 11:43 Posted yesterday at 11:43 A draw as our defence and midfield is looking good.Sadly we will not score any goals because lack of strikers who can effect this.

That was my last visit there to see Saints, though I did see City 4 Wrexham 4 in the cup a few years later, which was fun. The cup really mattered in those days. Anyway, perhaps Jay R will turn out to be the new Channon 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 12:35 Posted yesterday at 12:35 2-1 to Bristol City. It’s never been a great place for us to go. The Will Still agenda to rumble on. The we should’ve signed a goalkeeper agenda to start up again after McCarthy gets beaten at his near post. Is it on TV?

benjii Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago As much as I don't think the set up yesterday is the way forwards, given it was the only time this season we've played quite well for a big chunk of the match, I can see the rationale in making minimal changes. I reckon it'll be Fraser in for Jelert, maybe Manning at LB. No other changes, unless Scienza isn't fit enough to play again so soon. Perhaps Fellows gets a chance in his position to begin with.

That stung far more than Martins 25 game streak. Proper bogey club, and Tuesday won't change that.

spyinthesky Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I remember going down to Ashton Gate for an Easter game in our first promotion year in 1966. We were fortunate to get a 1-0 win which propelled us towards promotion. I think if we play as we did against Swansea, but bearing in mind that Brizzle City are a much better side, and actually convert our chances, we might snatch the three points. Fingers crossed and be prepare for further disappointment. 2
OneMrsWallace Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Seem to remember going there for an FA Cup match, late 70s? It was heaving. Lost 2-0 although I could be misremembering. Probably same score this time but let's hope for something out of the ordinary for a change.
Osvaldorama Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Tough to predict as I’ve not watched many Bristol games I’ll go with Bristol 2-1 The player trading corporation formerly known as Southampton FC 1
Patrick Bateman Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Anyone have a link to the Scienze nutmeg in the itchen / chapel corner please? My son keeps asking to see it again after yesterday.
