Brendan Rodgers 🤣

If he has thrown his hat in the ring then we should be on it. Best of the bunch and believe he got Swansea out of this league and stayed up following season.

In the final 4 and he’s impressed the board.

Had no idea he lives in this area.

favourite is current manager as he really wants the job.

Thanks

Rogers would be a coup given our current predicament. If he's interested why would Tonda be the favourite among the board? Baffling

BREAKING: I’ve had it on good authority that a figure has been seen leaving alongside Johannes Spors and Rasmus Ankersen from a London restaurant on Thursday.

Sources say he was wearing a bow tie and had yellow dots all over his clothes.

They interviewed Mr Tumble but he wanted too much money and refused to play with three centre backs. Also a bit of a nasty cunt!

Worked with Spors and Tonda at Gerona, that's all.

Sacked too recently for it to be a viable option. It is not going to happen but nice distraction.

I think Spors actually hired him for Genoa to be fair. So he must rate him and have a relationship with him.

I agree that it’s probably a bit soon and a bit too far-fetched, but maybe not entirely out of the question and he’s probably about as good an option as we could realistically hope for.

I think he’d be a great hire, personally.

Rodgers is a t**T and he ended up faling at Leicester and Celtic as his ego got in the way.

Wouldn't want him within a mile of the club.

O'Neill - no thanks.  Skate through and through.  Look at what happened with Redknapp.

Carrick - not averse

Eckhert - I think he has something about him and just have a feeling he could be an inspired choice.  Similar to Rohl in a way and no-one would have been too disappointed with him.

Put it this way, if Eckhert  wins today from 2 games he'll be the joint 2nd best manager we've had in the SR era.  How mental is that?

Wow. If Rodgers is in the mix then he simple has to get the job. It’s a complete no brainer.

Yep, pretty much a 'non brainer' if Rodgers is definitely interested. We need a big personality / strong character as manager and he ticks the box.

Dear Mssrs Spors & Solak,

Ignore my plea for Viera earlier... Rodgers is your man.

Yours etc...

So the final four are assumed to be:

Eckhert

O’Neil

Carrick

Rodgers

Why on earth would you go with Eckhert from that list?

Ankerson will make his choice soon…. So it will be Eckhert

Genuine question - what exactly do you see in him to make you think that?

Have you seen the line-up he has chosen for today's game at home to the bottom team in the league?

We need someone who will definitely be a big improvement on Still, not yet another pet SR project who shows promise and might make go on to be a good manager at some point. We might have won at QPR but we played just as badly as we have at any point this season, and I see nothing to suggest today's game is going to be any different.

Because Rasmus cunt-face fucking prick Ankerson thinks it's a good idea.

Honestly, just seeing a picture of that smug cunt's face and knowing that he ever had any fucking thing to do with this club just makes my fucking blood boil.

I’d have given Still more time, he will seriously walk into a top job.

Koeman type no thank you, inherited a team not for me.

Frank absolutely, won’t happen, other Frank absolutely not.

Internally no, from lower leagues no.

Hate to say it but Southgate to steady the ship instil discipline, Ralph 💯 %, Farq’s yes. Jose pipe dream.

Should have gone for Warnock 5 or 6 managers ago, not now obviously. I’d even take the nutter Barton with his connections, but that ship has sailed now he is doing his “”Podcast””???

Roy Keane yes, Rooney no

But to be honest as a lot have said, who will come now apart from those looking for a payday.

Why is it Rasmus, and not Spors who worked with Eckhart previously at Genoa?

If he gets the job then it’s 100% Spors led.

Middlesbrough would be a better option for him. (Although hoping they go for GON).

Jesus wept. So you’d have kept Still and would take Barton or Keane? Thank fuck you’re not making the decisions.

I know what you mean about Eckert but I still feel it is too early in his career for this job. He also needs to ‘find his feet’ by himself, and not be steamrollered into a style or selections to suit Rasmus.

For the above reason I can’t see Brendan Rodgers being brought in as he wouldn’t conform to suit skinny jeans fucking hipsters and their spreadsheet game.  Say what you want about Rodgers - and he comes across as a smug twat - but he probably does know his way round the football world.

Ekhart is the type of appointing you make in Sheffield Wednesday's position

It would signal SR have given up entirely by appointing him. It would be fucking comically unbelievable.

My Reading supporting friends could not stand Rogers. I think it is the only club he has been crap at. Then he went to Swansea and did a great job.

From reading posts I get a feeling that many posts are, perhaps without realising it, genuinely advising Sport Republic to hire the manager they are suggesting.

We've lost trust in the bunch of fucking jokers to such an extent that we're desperately hoping they read our fucking posts and it gives them ideas that they hadn't considered 😂

Because ‘Sports Republic’…

If they’re so desperate to develop him, just insist he’s in the coaching set-up for whoever takes over. Is that beyond them?

What the fuck are we waiting for. Jesus if Rodgers wants it we should be all out for him.

It would be a terrible, terrible gamble. We should be beating this Sheffield Wednesday regardless of who is in charge. Even if he wins this it means fuck all in my eyes.

Agree. Yet we will have melons chattering about how he has 2 in 2 and deserves/should get the job

I really hope the twat Rasmus isn't pointing his little fingers at Brentford again, saying, look, it CAN work to employ the guy that's been there already.

Really think he is the prime, root cause of all of our bad decisions over the last years.

Eckhert would be a bad move. The players are too billy big bollocks (we should sell all of the troublemakers in January) to 'allow' anyone but their friend Russell or somebody who can command respect immediately (Rodgers would do that, O'Neill less so) rather than the stand-in teacher.

Well if Pilchards has seen Brendan at Staplewood from up his tree, then that’s good enough for me.

(Plus he broke the story of the Nathan Jones link well ahead of it happening)

I love the fact that all that is posted on here is pretty much speculation, well 99%. We have no idea what is going on, and I would say at this stage no one who is betting do as well, apart from snippets that are put out there by media sources.

Fun though! More fun than our game thread will be.

Surely Rodgers has got to be lowest risk option for Sport Republic? Even if he fails they can always turn around and say to us fans: "well, you wanted a high profile manager rather than one of our usual project / experimental managers and look where it's got us...".

If they go for another of their 'clever' options then it's high risk and all on them (yet again)...
