Surely Aribo should be the Bragg, there?

Well yes obviously he's no 1 option, but he looked so unfit and lost on Saturday, I'm not so sure

Time for a new mentality.

I'm looking forward to the return of Bazunu, Stephens, Manning and Downs to the lineup as the new manager finds his best 11.

Very heavy QPR victory please to stop Spors appointing Tonda Eckert. Hope the Owls get three off us as well.

No, don’t be daft. A couple of defeats and they may look to bring Lego back.

Have to give Eckert full support over the next two games.

Although then again support for the new manager might not even make it to kick off …

There was a reason he/they look lost, they were not being managed correctly. Let’s see what we look like at Christmas. Hopefully a Christmas miracle!

Good and sad memories there. Good was David Hughes bicycle kick in a 2-2 draw under Bally.

Sad was playing them the Saturday after their bright young striker Ray Jones was killed in a car accident that week. Won 3-0 but very subdued understandably by everyone.

Good point. Was the 3-0 win the final game Theo Walcott played for us? If so I was at that.

If you are Tonda Eckhart what would you do?

I'd go 4-1-4-1 with, Fellowes, Scienza, Azaz, Arma ahead of Downes [who can be told to work harder] and Downs up front who can be told he'll get crosses and passes fired at him all game. If he can't put 3 shots on target at least then he's off the the U21s for the season.

Am I mad?

He's another 3 centre back aficionado isn't he? God help us.

Who knows. It's how our U21s play but our U21s always play however the first team play, as is common at an awful lot of clubs, with the logic being that it's easier to then integrate the young guys into first team training and help their understanding of match roles

I know I slagged off the u23s manager for playing it, but the last 3 games we lost were to teams playing 3 CBs, it's more about how you play it than the system itself.

In our case surely better if the U21s have no idea what happens in first team training, and and zero understanding of match roles as currently being played? :)

I agree, but I think that the players that we have acquired are actually more suitable for 4-2-3-1, or 4-4-1-1 than 3 at the back.

Agree and to play it you need proper wing backs which we don't have. We end up with 5 at the back and no midfield so no link from back to midfield to strikers.

Always enjoy a visit to Loftus Road, our record there seems decent, won on our last three visits which gives some hope compared to our terrible record at  Bristol City and Blackburn we could actually get something

I would stick with the 3CBs - shoukd have more than enough for the win.

-----Richards--Guehi--Lacroix-----

Munoz -Wharton-Lerma-Mitchell

Already, I am more excited and optimistic for this game.

We'll still fanny about with the ball. We'll still miss nice chances. But we're no longer locked in to football depression. That's what I'm telling myself anyway,

I can see a result similar to this one, those were the days having a front four of Le Tissier, Rideout, Shearer and Rod Wallace , just look how much those away fans are enjoying themselves

Loved that game. And wasn't it just one week later we beat Liverpool by the same score in what will probably always be my favourite Saints home game attended. I think Jason Dodd may have had his debut in the QPR game. Oh to have those forward options!

I’m sticking to my prediction that we’ll lose this. QPR are an OK side and our interim come permanent Manager will not have enough time to start turning things around, even if he has the know-how (which I very much doubt). Think the best we might see is a bit more cohesion and fight.

Flowers, Dodd, Benali, Osman, Ruddock, Case, Cockerill, Le Tissier, Rideout, Shearer, Wallace in a 4-2-4.

My favourite Saints team of all time.

How strange.

You would want a really shit lucky win, with terrible football, just to prove he isn't the right person for the job.

Saying that it seems luck has deserted us recently so wont happen.

Looking at the date of the game, it was MLTs 21st birthday that day too. What a side packed with young talents

I'd be happy to see 4-1-4-1 or 4-5-1 for this game. As a start we've got to make it much harder for teams to beat us. Jander and Downes both have to play imo and i'd prefer to see matsuki given a chance, until Azaz shows something. Haven't seen anything from Downs to suggest he's playable even as a physical nuisance.

11 English players too. In the late 80s England could have done far worse than put that side out as the national team.

Wonderful away day… though my memory has erased their goal. I’ve always claimed it was 0-4!

I was there as well.  Great game and great celebrations behind that goal.

The following week we beat Liverpool at the Dell also by 4-1.  Jason Dodd's debut I think.
