Graffito Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Freely admit I’m not the best judge of a keeper but I thought he was at fault for both their goals. Won’t comment further as we’ll see how he goes but keeper is such a key position I just hope we haven’t signed another duffer.

Posters on here making out that Bazunu never normally makes a single save in a match. Just weird or think they are being funny. 1
chivvy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I have only seen the highlights but I tend to agree .. the first goal he is to close to his near post for the corner and I think he should do better with second.. at least make an attempt to dive to save it. Any goalkeeper would have been criticised for that.. The double save im not convinced is that great either looks a bit palmy and flappy but he is rusty. But let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Let him get match sharp then make the judgement and you need to see 90 mins of him. Not playing in matches for a while can really effect positioning and timings.. the save from the free kick looked decent.. Edited 4 hours ago by chivvy

Still wish we’d got someone who’d come for more. didn’t mind him coming out for the header. Hopefully communication with defence will improve with games. He didn't have much to do in the first half and with the action all at the other end in the second half, it was difficult to judge his performance - though work in progress is a good, if not a little generous, comment. He may be a little rusty but at least he could have bent down and tried to make a save for their second and what looked like master saves at the end of the game on the highlights look simple to make and he seemed all a bit flappy. But he seems to have a bit of presence and this should instill confidence in the defence.
skintsaint Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 1st he was out of position. 2nd i think the shot was mishit looking at the reply and wrongfooted him. Give him a few more games and see where we are at.

His save percentage is quite frankly diabolical. 3

His save percentage is quite frankly diabolical. Fully agree. Boro scored 4 from 5 shots on target. After going nearly 8 hours without a goal. Before they played us it was 80 shots without a goal. Bazunu saves less than half the on target shots he faces over what is now a fairly big sample size. He’s also the master of parrying shots back into danger. Even the great save he made with his face sums up his style, just leaps and hopes and often does it too early, like when he was lobbed on his own line at Birmingham. Sticking with him as first choice this season was a mistake, we could all see that. He may be a decent keeper in the future but he’s just good at playing out from the back at present. Has made a few decent saves this season (Wrexham and 2 at Birmingham come to mind) but even with those he’s still bottom for saving the shots expected for the division.
goodymatt Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago On Peretz, I liked how quickly he moved his feet for the free kick save (Bazunu dives earlier) and he did seem more willing to come for the ball. Rustiness is to be expected and although a mixed performance you can see some attributes that that our other keepers don’t have. Very interesting to see how he settles in, our next 6 fixtures aren’t easy! 1
UpweySaint Posted 5 minutes ago Posted 5 minutes ago Hard to judge him in any meaningful way this early on but one thing he offered was presence which Baz never did.
pingpong Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago Bazunu gets ripped for being slow to get down, but at least he does get down. Maybe he'd get an easier time if he just watched it go in like peretz yesterday. Seemed a bit flappy in general, even his two "good" saves at the end were put back into danger areas. Think he'll struggle at championship level, which will probably reinforce that the issue is the chances we give away, not the guy trying to save them 1
