We need to get Peretz in permanently regardless of what happens with Ramsdale. Loan him out or sell him when the chance arrives, don't piss about and miss out on Peretz.

Why would we piss about? It will be Newcastle that pisses about either looking to see if they can get better or trying to drive the price down.

Our transfer hit rate has been better than it's been for years. It's only really been Damien Downs who has been a let down. Quarsie i see as a YHGTIer who was a low cost development player. The rest have all been decent to good.

Much better. But Jelert is a poor signing. Not sure Roerslev is all that either.

Good signs that Spors knows what he is doing. Tougher to get the quality needed in the PL though. Hopefully we get see if he can do it.

Not really, he got away with another clanger today. To be fair, he did protect his near post, first time since joining, but otherwise didn't have much to do. he is still erratic, and still targeted by opposition as a weakness. If the ref had done his job he'd be getting grief on here (or baz would have, peretz has a lot of leeway on here, same as ramsdale and even tailspin mccarthy did, for some reason...

Currently the best keeper in the league you’d have to say.

How nice is it to have a keeper bail you out time after time.

It’s almost like having our own Manuel Neuer this guy is top draw. Absolutely critical to our promotion push .. I’d take him over ramsdale next season tbh and I love ramsdale too .. can’t say enough good things about our Daniel ❤️

He was good today, still showing the same flaws, but he certainly has luck on his side - the misplaced pass, the two fumbles from straightforward saves and once again, the oppo commentators picked him out as a weakness - I think a lot of credit needs to go to the back 4 (manning aside) for the way they have tightened us up.

I'm just hoping he stays lucky through the cup finals.

Yeah he is getting all the luck poor old Bazunu never did. Also worth mentioning he understands all about positioning, he opens his gob to his defenders, makes worldy saves, punches the ball and is half decent with his feet too so yeah agree, he's quite lucky.

Baz, I can understand now why you’re such a shit ‘keeper. You’re blind as a bat!

When was the last tIme we had a keeper better than Peretz?

I’d take Peretz over Ramsdale, Bazunu, McCarthy.

Maybe Early Forster, Niemi, Boruc are the only keepers in the last 20 years that could give him a run for his money.

sign him up every day of the week for €8m!! We get to the prem and he performs like this we’d have a £40-£50m keeper on our hands.

It’s hard to say at this point whether he is better than Ramsdale as I think he’s a quality keeper. I agree though that he’s better or at least as good so far as early Forster and Boruc. Niemi is still the man though!

Hi Baz or pingpong, you have opened another account?

We’d have gone up automatically last time if we had a decent keeper, as it was we only made it through the play offs because Baz got injured.

There’s not many times when football arguments are settled conclusively, but this is one which has been. The people defending Baz were totally and utterly wrong, he was as bad as some of us thought, and we have a lot more points because he’s gone.

Isn't Jelert here on season long loan?

Yeah. I certainly wouldn't say he was a poor signing. Ok he's a bit small but he seems a decent enough Championship player. Good at tackling, passing and is pretty quick. He was essentially signed as back up to Roerslev at the time (who has actually been a poor signing)

Brian Clough said having a good goalkeeper meant putting 15 extra points on your points total by the end of the season.

How many has Peretz won us already by making huge match winning saves at pivotal points in close games - 9 at least?

It's impossible to put a figure on it. A goalkeeper is just one part of a team.

Come on Gavin, just drop it. Sorry for the cheap pun.

He's been absolutely superb last few games and keeps getting better. We're so lucky he's stayed fit with Mccarthy out for a couple of months, last night we had non-league keeper Jamie Jones on the bench ffs

Of course, but so is a centre forward, and there are lots of things that need to happen for goals to be scored, but goals win matches and that’s how they are generally measured in simple terms. It’s the same with big saves at pivotal points in a game, which is what Clough was talking about.

"He's better than Ramsdale"

See, I did it.

The biggest thing for me is why did it take so fricking long for a professional football club, full of professional scouts, analysts and coaches to realise we needed an actual goalkeeper to be succesful? This Bazunu project has been to the detriment of this club, and even if he returns this summer, I hope this experience with Peretz hammers home the fact that we've been playing without an actual goalkeeper for quite some time, bar the few games in the PL with Ramsdale.

If this doesn't concentrate minds, I don't know what else will. I'd love us to sign Peretz, but even if that ship sails and he has other options, I want this experience we've had to be used as club-wide realisation that we need spend on a goalkeeper either way.

Oh, come on... Look at the number of bites he/she got this time... Gotta be worth at least a 3 out of 10.
