It's almost as if he had a poor reputation because of his mediocre record before he joined us.... Let's give crystal balls to all Saintswebbers, I say, so that we can all appear wise after the event in future.... It's simply not fair that we only have a small clutch of smart arses on here hogging all the limelight... ;)

P.s. talking of being a good judge of a footballer's potential... ;)

Very interesting thanks

Yes I agree very interesting. But the kind of sad part was that Larin scored again against Qatar, making him Canada's all time WC highest scorer, until Johnathan David got a hat trick in the same game. It is a "funny old game".

I have to say i got Larin very wrong when he first signed for us and i'm big enough to admit it. He is now one of my favourite players probably just behind Scienza. What both players have in common is they are both grafters and both very humble and have taken nothing for granted.

I hope he comes back from what is already a successful World Cup for him and Canada firing on all cylinders and ready to score the goals that will make us challengers for promotion this season.

Anyone know why Larin didn’t play?

Well he was completely out of sorts in the Switzerland match, looked as if he was carrying some sort of injury for most of it, hardly had a touch and was subbed after 58'. Wasn't surprised really given Canada's game plan which was based on very dynamic, attacking play.

On the bench for penalties as he’s not able to compete on the pitch with his injury.

Thats my guess, as they have no other reason not to start him.

Apart from the manager being a bit of an idiot. He didn’t start him in the first game either so no guarantees he’s carrying a slight injury

So... when is our World Cup record breaking goal scoring Canadian returning from his holiday? I guess he'll need to work on his match fitness even if he's kept himself fit.

His Insta showed him on holiday 3 days ago with his family so I assume it won't be until maybe Monday. (Stalker much?)

Bro is back luckily he wont need a preseason as we're reliably informed he had one at the world cup

I love this guy. Definitely my favourite player of the current squad. Fingers crossed he stays fit for the season, he's going to be massive for us if we are serious about promotion.

It’s quite amazing really how none of us wanted him and he came with such a poor rep .. he just seems to have everything. And can score headers , in the box , volleys , or just burst through and score goals with his pace .. honestly the way he’s going he could be better then Rickie lambert was in this league .. without Stewart taking half the minutes could see him easily scoring 30 plus this season

If Larin continues his current form we will face serious interest from PL clubs come January.

I think his age will be a advantage here everyone likes us signing young prospects but the good thing about players like larin is the top clubs won’t be as interested . He seems to love it here too and was quick to sign when he probably did enough to gain other admirers
