It's no wonder he looked so out of his depth for us. The old proverb about judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree springs to mind. 2

They'll come for a draw and hope they can fluke one against the run of play. I'd start Larin and Matsuki to give us a bit of physicality against their defenders. The fancy suff can come later. Peretz; Bree THB Stevens Manning; Downes Jander Azaz; Matsuki Larin Scienza 3

BotleySaint Posted yesterday at 12:48 Posted yesterday at 12:48 Feels like we are due a wobble. But I also wouldn't be surprised if we win 5-0. The confidence and belief pumping through the team since that Leicester comeback is incredible.
Scummer Posted yesterday at 14:56 Posted yesterday at 14:56 Just noticed there are rail replacement buses from Woolston to Central, for anyone arriving from the east
LiberalCommunist Posted yesterday at 15:09 Posted yesterday at 15:09 This week has felt so damn long since we beat Wrexham. At least we'll be well rested!

Not convinced Matsuki gives physicality but I'd also like Larin to start. Fellows with the crosses and Larin to knock them in...with an early goal just like we did to Oxford.

A mate of mine travels down from London for home games, honestly its been shit all season hardly ever just a normal direct train to Southampton Will certainly add to traffic with a sold out St Mary's , few cruise ships in as well that always adds to the gridlock

St. Ciervo Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago We are on cloud 9. I have been conditioned to expect the worst next.
Convict Colony Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Derby are points grinders but seem to lose the bigger games so i will go with 2-0 with the proviso that Leo replaces Edozie on the left.
coalman Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago After our miserable season last time and start this time, I'd forgotten what it was like to look forward to Saturdays. Now I'm waiting for the hope to betray me. 4-1 to Saints 1

Now I'm waiting for the hope to betray me. 4-1 to Saints I know the feeling only too well. I've remained extremely cautious during our recent run, even as the team have consistently proven my fears of messing up to be unfounded. So I'm really hoping that by finally predicting a comfortable win today, I haven't cursed us to end the run.
Saint86 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago A good win today could be massive. Millwall dropped points last night, Ipswich have Norwich away, and Portsmouth may do us a favour at Boro (and if not they're staring relegation right in the face so silver linings).

I live 22 miles from st Marys and I honestly think it would be quicker to ride my pushbike there.

Saint Pete Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I see OS says it's a sell out today and ticket exchange open. Should be a cracking atmosphere, looking forward to it!
BallBoy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago So many times in the past I have witnessed Saints get into great position only to screw up in front of an optimistic capacity crowd. Dare I say that this time feels different. It will be a tough game but I think we will find a way to win. 1
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I think Derby are going to be horrible to play against. Have disliked them since they beat us in the playoffs and goaded us on the pitch instead of celebrating their own win. Their fans actually seem to be proud of their shit football. Here's a few quotes from their forum: 'Dark arts, slow it all down, long balls in to channels behind their full backs.' 'If you're right then Travis or whoever needs to go down after 5 minutes and then ROD needs to have ankle problems a few minutes later. Try and suck the energy out of the match.' 'Can't wait for the "view from outside" post after this one. I'm dreaming of: "Beat Arsenal but cant score against Derby County". "They are the worst team I've seen at St Mary's this season. Their Captain is the king of $hithousery". "Morris bullied us from minute 1". "Hope we dodge them if we are both in the play offs. They've got some units". ' Hope we smash them. Saint NL Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago First off is the Ipswich game. If they lose today the pressure will ramp up a bit. Kicks off shortly so let's see....
Paul_B Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Don't think this is going to be as straightforward as many think. Just hope the bubble doesn't burst. Don't care how we do it, just win. Anything less is a fail now.
Saint NL Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Ipswich winning the derby 2-0 at half time, so surely they won't drop points today. The servers for this site are absolutely fucked, so expect a short match thread today.

We'll just have to switch to a 3/5 and have square pegs in round holes all over the pitch. Because apparently that's a perfectly sound solution to not having a fit RB, according to some on here. 2
