Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 19:15 Posted Saturday at 19:15 We go again! I wonder how leggy we’ll be after today’s game…
sfc4prem Posted Saturday at 19:16 Posted Saturday at 19:16 Hopefully not a case of 'after the Lord Mayor's show'. Need to keep momentum and get a win here, ready for the playoffs. 1

Cabrone Posted Saturday at 19:33 Posted Saturday at 19:33 Whilst top 2 is now Ipswich's to lose we still want 3/4th home advantage in the playoffs to take it to the last game to keep the momentum going Plenty still for us in this game. 12
saintant Posted Saturday at 19:38 Posted Saturday at 19:38 It'll be tough after today's efforts but Tonda will work his magic and pick a team to get the job done.
Saint_clark Posted Saturday at 19:42 Posted Saturday at 19:42 Hope the players are better at motivating themselves than I am. 3
RedArmy Posted Saturday at 19:45 Posted Saturday at 19:45 We need to get back to 4th to get the second leg at home. Big game, could have been a lot bigger but it is what it is. 1
Barton Saint Posted Saturday at 19:48 Posted Saturday at 19:48 Just scrape a win and set up a crazy last game for four teams then anything could happen 3

Lighthouse Posted Saturday at 20:05 Posted Saturday at 20:05 I'd rather have a home second leg but other than that I don't think there's a lot riding on this. Ironically, we may end up better off not winning this. Playing Boro home first, then Millwall at Wembley might well be easier than playing Boro home second, then Ipswich at Wembley. All hypothetical, I think the main thing is just momentum and putting in a performance.
Harry_SFC Posted Saturday at 20:05 Posted Saturday at 20:05 Having watched the majority of Ipswich's last few games, I'm not worried about this game. They look very average to me. 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 20:13 Author Posted Saturday at 20:13 Ipswich have looked very average all season, I’m sure they’ll turn up on Tuesday - but they’ve been largely poor. We just need to not become complacent.
Pilchards Posted Saturday at 20:33 Posted Saturday at 20:33 Both teams will be leggy but I really do think Tonda has been mixing the pack brilliantly. Manning to start with Matsuki in his usual position with Charles & Jander in the centre with Larin who starts with Archer on the left flank. Leo to come off the bench with Stewart to push on. 1
Mboto Gorge Posted Saturday at 21:06 Posted Saturday at 21:06 This is still a huge game and one we really should be desperate to win. Looking forward to it
Dr Who? Posted Saturday at 21:15 Posted Saturday at 21:15 Just win this and take it to the last Saturday of the season. Who knows what could happen then, but we have to win to be in the mix. In any case if it is the playoffs we might need to beat someone by a few to keep catch and stay above Boro on the goal difference for that 4th slot. It’s a great time to be a Saint!
SNSUN Posted Saturday at 21:39 Posted Saturday at 21:39 Not sure how the boys will recover for this, I wasn't even playing and every bone in my body is aching. What a statement win this would be though, whether we go up automatically or not. That said I really wouldn't be surprised to see a flat performance after today - but Tonda surely has an ace up his sleeve.
die Mannyschaft Posted yesterday at 00:23 Posted yesterday at 00:23 0-0. Arsenal and today v City were both great performances well above expectations. But then we get Bristol City to me indicates we can play at the top of our game half the time. Its just how the season has worked out. Even the 90 mins we can only play 45 good with the other 45 dodgy. We were unlucky to lose today playing some good football so let's hope we are lucky and win v Ipswich. 1
Sardonic Squirrels Posted yesterday at 00:43 Posted yesterday at 00:43 We were fortunate to leave there with a point today. Largely outplayed but it's a valuable point all the same. IF we get an auto promotion it'll be a case of straggling over the finish line, not racing along at a canter. I'm not looking forward to our game next week as there's too much at stake and we can still just as easily finish third or below. As Saints can still mathematically make an automatic finish themselves it creates a whole lot of tension and nerves for all. I still think the final game home to Queens Park Rangers is key to promotion and where it will be done but don't really want to leave it to last fixture. Whatever happens both teams are assured of a top six finish and play off involvement whereas there's going to a number of disappointed club names who won't even get that chance. I think I'd take a point at Saint Mary's right now if they offered it although sorry to say would obviously hope for more.
Football Special Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago If Ipswich win they are promoted (as good as) , I think it will be a cagey game and quite likely to be a draw , bound to be quite a few changes from the team that started the semi final , I'll go for 1-1
benjii Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I guess: Perry Bree THB Stephens/Wood Manning Bragg Charles Matsuki Azaz Edozie/Archer Larin
Oisin Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago 55 minutes ago, benjii said: I guess: Perry Bree THB Stephens/Wood Manning Bragg Charles Matsuki Azaz Edozie/Archer Larin Agree - Bree and Bragg were subbed and will be fine to start; Matsuki, Manning, Charles and Larin will be fresh. Jander, Leo and Azaz will be the most tired I suspect. Fellows too - he got through a lot of work. We could suffer a bit of a hangover from yesterday but something tells me Tonda will channel the disappointment in the right way and I actually think we’ll get a performance. I really hope the crowd are on top form as it’ll help. Last home game so we should give it our all to do our bit (I know there’ll likely be another in the playoffs) 1
beatlesaint Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago It bloody annoyed me that the commentators during the WBA v Ipswich game kept banging on about them going to Southampton on Tuesday and securing promotion. Not a single mention that any one of 4 teams could still get second if we win that one. 3
Hatch Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I can’t make the game now so have a spare ticket if anyone is looking for one
Saint Fan CaM Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Can only begin to imagine how tired some of the players must feel, but hopefully a decent recovery session or two will help. I hope we see a very competitive game - I’ve managed to get a ticket so I’m really looking forward to getting back to SMS for what could be a season defining game. It’s not going to be easy though - both teams have so much at stake…thinking 1-1 might be likely. An early goal to set up a big win would be awesome. COYS!
EssEffCee Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Be interesting to see how tired both physically and mentally we look for this. Can imagine yesterday took a lot out of us.
Pamplemousse Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) If we win we take automatic promotion race to the final day, and if you'd have told me that when we got thumped 4-0 at Boro I'd have laughed. 4 teams potentially in the race for 2nd on the final day, great for the neutral. Barton Saint Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Those six points we dropped against the Skates Charlton and Millwall would be so precious now 1

saintant Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Think our players will be itching to get back on the pitch and take Saturday's narrow defeat out on someone. Unlucky Ipswich, you're in the firing line!

You could argue that the point against West brom and comeback win against Leicester are what has allowed us to be so high up the table given how poor we were in both.
BotleySaint Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Ioswich would effectively be promoted if they win. Think we'll need an early goal.

saint michael Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Think we will beat them but Ipswich and millwall will win their last games
St. Ciervo Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I would love to see us smash them. Get our tail up and get back to winning. If we see them in the playoffs, we will have that extra confidence. A draw would be fine enough but would take away our outside prayer of a chance for autos. A loss would be deflating. I would hate to watch them basically take the last automatic at SMS. We don't need that much of a return to Earth quite yet. COYR! Edited 12 hours ago by St. Ciervo

saintant Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago We need to go all in on this one. Love to see us right at it and blow them away. We'll not get 2nd but let's make it a nervy last day for the Tractor Boys. Tonda will be urging the boys to win big in our remaining two matches to set ius up for the play-offs. Momentum is everything.
Willo of Whiteley Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Ipswich win and they’re effectively promoted. Draw means it’s anyone’s guess between three teams on the final day. A Saints win puts us in the mix with the other three on the last day. 1

It's a sell out on Tuesday, ticket exchange et al and the response of the crowd after that performance yesterday should help give them an adrernalin boost, and I agree they'll need it..
