CanadaSaint Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago No Downes, eh? Perhaps the plan is to go at Boro (as they did up there), get a lead (like they should have done), and be ready to play it tighter in the second half. Downes can get excessively fired-up for games like this, and an early yellow could be very damaging.

Saint NL Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Stephens on the bench, wonder how far off he was from starting
Harry_SFC Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Sensible not starting Downes. Red card waiting to happen tonight. Plus he looked very rusty on Saturday. 5

Baird of the land Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Happy with that line up. Only slight surprise is jander over downes, but downes wasn't at his best at the weekend
Sheaf Saint Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 1 minute ago, Saint NL said: Stephens on the bench, wonder how far off he was from starting Given that he didn't even make the bench on Saturday, it's probably a good decision not to start him tonight. Hopefully we'll be in a position later where we can bring him on to shore things up and protect a lead.

But, based on us struggling to support, I can see why Charles was picked. Likewise Stewart over Larin and Matsuki over Fellows. Every one of them has strengths. So, can only hope that whatever the selection, that it's enough. It would be tough to criticise, if it doesn't, given that Tonda's rotation has so many in contention.

macca155 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Replacing Downes with Charles is ok, and with Matsuki adding some extra bite in midfield, he'll have freedom to roam forward. Our bench is ridiculous, Tonda clearly looking at a long hard game. No way should we underestimate Boro, although don't think anyone is. They won't go down without a fight. Let's hope Saints can control the game and keep them pegged back. COYS

Saint NL Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I like Stewart starting, he can wear them out and then Larin can come on and bulldozer them when they're tired. Or if we need a goal, have both of them up front, Scienza and Fellows crossing at every opportunity
macca155 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago What's the situation with Flynn Downes and yellow cards. Is there a chance he could miss the final? Or any other player for that matter.

bpsaint Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I obviously hope we win, but I hope , more than anything, that Finn Azaz scores the winner tonight, down the Chapel End and knee slides in front of the Boro fans. He’s had 3 games of abuse, let’s hope tonight he gets revenge. 6
Suhari Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Glad to see Matsuki in. He brings much more physicality and is more PressResistant(TM) than Fellows. Charles is better from the b nch, so that's a little hmmmm. In Tonda we trust. C'mon you Saints! 2
BallBoy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Jander will have to work very hard. He always does but a lot to ask IMO. 1
