I'd be surprised if BBD played for us again. But who knows with football. Archer seemed to redeem himself right at the end of the season, but if a half decent offer comes in, we'll sell and look to try again. 1
LaptopSaint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Loan Will Lankshear from Spurs with obligation to buy if we go up.

Wasn’t it Lankshear who went through against us and skewed a shot wide ? Didn’t look that good last season against us from what I recall. Certainly not a £20m player, or an obligation to buy. 4
hypochondriac Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago We are unlikely in my opinion to spend a load of money on a striker. More likely to find someone from a foreign league we have never heard of. We will be trusting Spors again to pull a rabbit out of a hat. 3
MarkSFC Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I imagine we will try to loan a striker possibly capable of stepping up in the PL should we go up. Spend the money on a number 10 and CB to replace THB. 1

ally_uk Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Tyler dibbs on loan would make sense, could cover the number 10 and other positions. I reckon Tonda would be good for him 👍 If everton come in for Charles we should try and get Dibbs back as part of the deal. 3
Turkish Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) If we're looking for a winger on loan Mikey Moore from Spurs would be worth a look, had a decent season at Rangers last year, wont get in their team. Edited 12 hours ago by Turkish 9

We may get better value abroad but loans for Lankshear and Moore - ideally with options, at least on Lankshear, could be some smart business. Moore can play in the 10 or on the wing and Lankshear could be a good option to compete with Larin. If we got them both I would say we’re possibly a competent second choice keeper away from having a very good squad though that’s before any likely departures.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Mikey Moore would be excellent. Max Aarons (RB cover) not wanted at Bournemouth. James Ward-Prowse, as much as I dislike past players returning, would keep us healthy in midfield at this level. Even Ferguson (loan from Brighton).

Another player who absolutely nobody would want if he hadn’t already played for us. Twice now he has left, had ‘issues’ and wanted out almost immediately. Saints aren’t a comfort blanket he can just keep running back to whenever he needs to sort his life out. He can go and do that somewhere else. 6

Midfield_General Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) If we're looking at Scotland / Rangers we could do a lot worse than have a look at Djeidi Gassama as well. Quick, direct, gives defenders all sorts of problems and has got a goal in him. He was often their standout player whenever I watched them last year. Can play on either wing and they picked him up for less than £2m a year ago, which was a great bit of business. Only 22 so YHGTI. Edited 10 hours ago by Midfield_General 3

I doubt we'll go for another right back with Bree, unknowns about Sugawara and also having Roerslev coming back from injury (hopefully shows what hes got).
Willo of Whiteley Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Anyone that wants Tyler Dibling, please have a rethink. He has now left twice for pastures new, sometimes the grass isn’t always greener. He was ok at best the time he was with us, a bit like Matty Fernandes, there was a player there but when you put him against the crock of shit that season anyone was going to look like a world beater. And that he isn’t. 5

And that he isn’t. Yeah I think Moyes has also had problems with him up there. Mentioned that he needs to train better and work harder. Even signed that Chelsea player on loan in January and played him ahead of Dibling. Obviously has ability but not great head with it. When I watched him also had stopped trying to run it and take players on and preferred the low risk backward pass back 1
VectisSaint Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Not exactly transfer, but note that Danny Rohl has left Rangers heading for RB Salzburg. 1

Not saying he is a bad player, but isn’t as good as people make out. 6
pingpong Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Dibling had a handful of decent games under Martins slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow slow quick tactics, but isn't top 6 championship standard I don't reckon and would not get ahead of fellows or scienza. 2

I wasn't expecting him to win the SPL in his first season, and although it was a mighty dip at the end, I think the turnaround after his appointment showed that he is able to get results in a way that Russell Martin couldn't, at least at that level. And he was able to do it mid-season too, unlike Juric. I still think HCDAJFU and being in his mid-30s... young, hungry and guaranteed to improve, as the phrase goes. 1

SaintLondon Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I haven't actually seen one credible source for JWP returning - is it just hot air?

I would imagine Everton would be very receptive to a loan move for Dibling - at this point they're staring at a very expensive mistake and need some way to rehabilitate their asset, particularly given their £35M fine. Doesn't mean saints should take him back however. Didn't want to be here last season, wouldn't commit to the club, and seems to have a attitude / mentality issue. Edited 7 hours ago by Saint86 1

Chez Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If Dibling was happy to come back here, and Everton covered a lot of his wages, then I'd take him back without the need for much thinking time. He's a quality player that can make things happen and you can't have enough of those types. I wont happen though. 5

Guess it will be whether Spors and TE fancy him on terms acceptable to West Ham into final year of his contract.

At the right price and CM squad size, the club would be mental not to take a motivated JWP... But there are a lot of moving parts for that to come to fruition. Regardless, it seems likely that he won't be at WHU in the champ next season given the clear issues between JWP and Nuno.
Willo of Whiteley Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago He’d also need to drop his wage demands, he has to fit a club structure. Would the likes of THB who has been an excellent leader and deputy want him to come back? Would club captain Stephens? Squad dynamics count for a lot.

Baird of the land Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago there’s zero reason for saints to be riding to West Ham’s rescue in taking on jwp’s massive wages, after multiple years of him showing no sign of being the same player he was at his peak with us. 5
JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Interesting. Long term he could be a good buy for WBA. Wonder if he would have done better had he stayed rather than moving so early to Chelsea. 1
