If so yet another Ankersen masterclass of deal making.

And he can redeem himself with a 33-50% sell on clause when the player joins Leeds or whoever.

In the modern parlance though he may be considered a finisher rather than a starter.

In non hipster parlance, he’s a sub, who doesn’t get in the starting 11.

Not a fan of Ankersen by any means, but not sure this is on him. Wasn’t Charles during the Shields period ? (Although may still have been negotiated by Rasmus),

Trouble is in securing the young players from City and Chelsea, the sell on is part of the deal, and they probably won’t look at selling without. It also makes the deal more affordable for us, and ‘transfers’ some of the risk involved.

Probably a case that without the sell on clause, we don’t get to see the Lavias, Charles, and Livramentos in the first place.

Possibly, the first batch from Manchester City between Shields and Ankersen.  Would imagine it was a pro forma contract at that point so we got the likes of Larios, Bazunu and Edozie too - six of that youth side in all for around £115M. With the £58M for Lavia, if Charles and Harwood-Bellis are sold we should only be about £20M down.

Guess by that logic neither can jander, when he kept getting rotated.

He’d have started in the final. You know, games when the manager puts out his best side….

£115m?! Sounds way too high more like £70m surely for the 6 of them?

Of course he can. In the modern parlance though he may be considered a finisher rather than a starter. Bringing him on when all the opposition attackers are knackered is a very clever move due to his athleticism.

People forget he spent a long time last season out with a nasty injury. He was doing well before that, It was my assumption he was being managed back to full fitness before being leaned on too heavily.

Or possibly he’s a very talented, highly regarded young player with a really promising future.

As our American pals say, do the math...

Well,  a side to just soak up some pressure before the quality players are brought on to ensure the result. 🙂

Started 21 out of 31 league appearances last season. Think you're wrong in any parlance.

Someone did mention to me that we've been linked with Callum O'Hare again.  Not sure where the link came from and it's probably bollocks but can see that being something we might be interested in.

Nah, I'll let MLG to verify the total cost. But I'm pretty sure on average they werent £20m each!

Harwood-Bellis £20m
Charles £10m that could rise to £15m
Bazunu an initial £12m
Lavia £10.5m with £3.5m add ons and 20% sell on clause
Edozie £6m rising to up to £10m
Larios £5m-£6m

Josh Mulligan, a 5’9” midget; no thanks.  Much rather have David Ozoh from Palace: younger, taller (over 6’) and better; he did well on loan at Derby last year and I doubt that Palace regard him as good enough for the EPL yet.  If Charles looks likely to leave we should get Ozoh.
