Tamesaint Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If, like me, you have lost a spouse, you understand how important sport really is in life. Nevertheless it does matter and I realise that I am now going through the 5 stages of grief - probably like most other Saints fans. The 5 stages are: Denial Followed by Anger Then Bargaining Depression And finally Acceptance. I finished the Denial phase when the appeal was rejected. Before Tuesday I could not see us being expelled from the play offs. On Wednesday encouraged by the reaction of much of the football world, I hoped that the severity of the punishment would be reduced. Now expulsion is real. At the moment I am stuck in the anger phase. Our sheer ineptitude in not only committing the offence but also in allowing Boro to set the legal and PR agenda is just pissing me off. Seeing Boro playing at Wembley tomorrow will not make me feel any better!! Depression will come I guess when Peretz signs for somebody else , when THB goes back up north and Scienza disappears. I am not looking forward to that stage but hopefully acceptance will be reached by August and the start of the new season. Here's hoping. 2
LiberalCommunist Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thought I was in acceptance until I read that, now back to anger.
MB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Anger. Anger. Anger. Hate Phil cunting Parsons with an absolute passion and time is definitely not a healer. Think I need help. 2
sfc4prem Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Acceptance for me. I've accepted the EFL are a bunch of sleazy, easily-influenced cockwombles. I've accepted that Parsons and our legal team know fuck all. I've accepted that we made a mistake in scouting training sessions when we didn't really need to, and we're silly enough to get caught. I've accepted that we've been hit hard with sanctions and it fucking hurts. I'll remember that pain going forward. I'm moving on. Keep Tonda. Adopt an 'Us v. Them mentality'. Try again next season. 7

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's a bit personal. But let's just say the hormone treatments are coming along nicely. 3
Crab Lungs Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I’ve got this really acute mix of feelings which have definitely ramped up this evening, mainly because I know I would be feeling quite a lot of anticipation and excitement right about now knowing that we would have been going to Wembley tomorrow AND this time tomorrow we could potentially have create the mother of all comebacks. overriding annoyance that boro shouldn’t be there at all keeps sneaking in. 1
SaintsfanSwindon Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thought I was at the acceptance stage today but looking on X and seeing photos of all the Middlesbrough fans enjoying themselves at Trafalgar Square I have now slipped back to anger!!

Always worth remembering that these things might have happened even if we went up. Also, just a few months ago with largely the same players we were awful. Things can turn around quickly, just look at Hull who only just stayed up last season, had a transfer ban, yet are now one match away from the Premier League.
SNSUN Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Tired. Not of the whole Spygate thing, I just didn't get enough sleep last night. 1
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Anger/acceptance with a hint of whatever stage it is if I still think Kim whats-his-face is a smarmy twat.
Harry_SFC Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Let's also remember Hull could've beaten us at Wembley. 1

skintsaint Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm at the stage where I don't give a shit and roll on to next season, with the massive summer turnover of staff/players.
Draino76 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm like, whatever. I was on the train this morning and I was desperate for a shit. Toilet was closed. I nearly shit my pants! I thought to myself this is an exceptionally bad week, but then burst out laughing.... I got thru and I'm sure we'll get through this also. 1

saintant Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Looking forward to another season without VAR and not being beaten most weeks. It's not all bad. 3
redandwhitey Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m looking forward to Middlesbrough winning tomorrow, and will enjoy them getting smashed in the Premier League next season hopefully with a couple of 0-9 results to boot. or getting stuffed by Hull tomorrow Win/win for me #gibsonsatwat 1

And yes, I’ve had that issue at Paddington, not with the toilets closed but so rank that the train has been the better option. 1

I'll be disappointed if this isn't one of the stories of reliance and perseverance that the club put on the website to help get past this. 🙂 1

Thripp87 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I’ve just looked back at all my Leeds photos and videos, that was a mistake. Tomorrow is going to be tough to watch, not sure I can see or hear that game tbh. Im still currently in the anger stage, purely at us and our own stupidity, and continued radio silence. I did have a brief spell yesterday of positivity, that we will recover and be back. The order has been shock, denial, anger, embarrassment, positivity, anger, acceptance, sad and anger for me so far. St.Jeweller Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Think once tomorrow afternoons out the way we can try and look forward and not think about what could have been. Lost faith in the game in general at the moment, which is not a bad thing I suppose with England and World Cup around the corner. Was thinking earlier today that all those out there saying that we got what we deserved imagine this sort of thing happening to England once they'd qualified for a the World Cup Final then getting chucked out of the tournament.

revolution saint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Seriously I dunno, there was a time when this would have really bothered me and pissed me right off but there's so much other stuff going on that football ceases to be the be all and end all of everything and by extension that's saints too to a lesser extent. I used to know every player (at least in the top division). I'd be all over it but that hasn't been the case for quite a long time. Easy to blame the modern game, VAR, saturation TV coverage, endless punditry but I think it's just getting older. Not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing but I can accept shit like this a bit better. I ain't ancient BTW, I'm 54 which is about the age Lord Duckhunter pretends to be (just kidding LD).
LegalEagle Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m still angry about Nathan Jones. This is going to take time. 1

Hussar Saint Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago I’ve gone through the change curve and reached ACCEPTANCE!! I’ve just watched some badly spliced YouTube video on the whole thing, all YouTube contributors from both clubs. Our Football Martin is sickening, pure cringe!! He comes across as so contrite and so wounded, like the club he supports is the first club to have ever cheated !! This is bad, the actions of the club have been appalling, disgusting even!! But come on, nobody died. We need to snap out of this shit and be the ones who picked this brilliant club up off its arse!!
Willo of Whiteley Posted 49 minutes ago Posted 49 minutes ago Well I’ve just been made redundant so I’m going through all of these emotions 🤪 Saints was just the cherry on top of the shitty cake 1 1
leeham_69 Posted 45 minutes ago Posted 45 minutes ago There's actually 7 stages - shock first, and hope last. Not sure what stage i'm at but I'm a long way from hope. Anyway, isn't depression the de facto for us?
