They went with"Mat-ski"... This fella sounds like he's saying "Mat-see-kee" to me...might be my dodgy hearing of course...

No, you are absolutely right. The way this guy says it is a little closer to the correct way of saying his name (it will never sound quite right in English). There is supposed to be a little bit of the "u" in Matsuki there. Its not quite right to leave the entire letter/sound of the "u" out when saying his name, but it should be less pronounced than what is normal for the letter "u" in English.

Why do some teams look fully fit and raring to go at the start of the season and others look "rusty and disjointed"...?

I’m choosing to decide that this is still pre season and Watford is a whole another week of preparation away yet….

I thought Brereton-Diaz was due a good game, guess he’s still due a good game! Matsuki not strong enough for centre mid and everyone else pretty rusty. Need a couple of signings in the middle (midfield and striker).

I'm not sure it's helped having so many players and spreading the minutes out accross all of them.

I have been saying for the last 4/5 seasons that our preseason preparations have been appalling. We seem to start later than most and we play absolutely awful teams in preparation for the new season. This preseason has been the worst preparation from a fans view that i can remember.

They did and tbf it looks like it.

Our pre season seemed very odd to me. A friendly against Eastleigh and a few against lower league German opposition.

What does Wood have to do to be the regular mate for THB. Why isn’t Larin a starter. Why didn’t we try harder to keep Ross. So many questions. And I’m watching supposedly our strongest line up being beaten by Cowley’s div 2 boys.

I think you are spot on here. This combined with the fact that these players think they are so good that they should have been in the Prem by now. They have to start matching that belief with performances again, just like at the end of last season. It doesn't matter what they did last season, they need to start again and back it up with performances.

One of us saw a great pair of Bristols.

That's a positive!

Larin is a starter. It's one flipping game.

You know he isn't a new signing right? He's played for us before, he's had more than half an hour.

Of course and I'll be pretty unimpressed if he's leading the line this year. Big standard Championship player in my opinion.

However at the moment he is all we have to support Larin. Bit pointless getting on his back if we need him.

I think some saying BBD has been shit is a bit rich, if it were Larin you’d be saying he hasn’t received the right service.

I wouldn’t say anyone particularly stands out good or bad.

It’s just lack of match fitness and rustiness, it shows throughout.

Larin has never had a half like that. There's no reason to believe he would today in BBD's place based on previous performances. BBD was completely anonymous and his first touch has been poor the few times he's had the ball. He's been very disappointing.

Very much losing faith in Fellows.

I’m impressed you still have faith at this stage.  He is complete shite.  Does nothing.

Always liked him at WBA. But, seems to have had the spark taken from him.

Funny how Saints regularly manage that.

And by funny, I mean not funny.

Colchester adopting England's tactics of retreating and going all out defense.

England did it against Messi, Colchester are just hoping BBD can't score. Seems a decent bet from them tbf
