Watched the Watford game and thought the defeat was due to Tonda making a rare error of judgement by playing Leo centrally and Dobbin out wide. Even then we still did enough to deserve at least a point.

Saw bits of West Ham but not concerned as we were never going to win the Carabou Cup and it wasn't our first team.

Is Downes definitely out? I’d 100% have him in there ahead of Bragg unless it’s enforced.
 

Will be interesting to see if Tonda thinks Larin can start 3 games in a week, or if it’ll be Mubama for an hour tonight then Larin later, and Larin starting again on Saturday. He was great at rotating them last year but not sure how effective Mubama is going to be leading the line

No don't think he's definitely out, but I'd be surprised if he plays. Also agree on Mubama/Larin. 

I can see Larin getting burnout this season if our only options are him and Mubama...

I guess Mubama played a lot of games for Stoke last season and was decent initially. We should be able to create more chances for him than Stoke would’ve done, we’ll just have to play a different game to suit him

Absolutely. Which is why we should hopefully be ensuring we get another body in today who can play upfront, especially if Archer leaves. Preferably one who can hold the ball up and allow Larin to rest.

Brum unbeaten so far, bit of a mixed bag of results. Tricky away game but play like we did on Saturday and we will do well. 

I wonder if Downes can play, or it'll be JWP and Bragg.

Surprised to see such a strong team: excellent.

Nice to see YBL (young, big lad) on the bench. I'm not even trying to type his name..... I'd dislocate something.

For an online segment of our fanbase that bemoans our loss of academy produced brilliance, the level of moaning about a young bench or lack of experience in signing Nottingham's centre back is ridiculous levels of cognitive dissonance.

How they've got that on his shirt I don't know. Hopefully he's known as just as Prince

About time we saw young Ehibhatiomhan on the bench. He's been banging them in for the U21s. I also think Akachukwa deserves decent minutes as well.

Good move from Tonda. If we do make it to the PL, some of these youngsters will need to be in the core of the team. Journey starts now to coin a phrase.

JWP not starting is a surprise, I guess it's softly softly to start with

So far, this is a truly fantastic transfer window.

Two players out for £60m.

Peretz and Larin in for barely £10m (I thought we'd get neither).

Scienza and Azaz stay.

JWP in for peanuts.

I would have ripped your arm off for that in early July.

Start at a high tempo and play vertically through their lines and we can win this. No walking football - that's for the over 60s.

Add Jander and that is our best first XI, although I am marginally team Matsuki over team Fellows but he deserves to start after his last performance. Only time will tell if Abbott is better than Jack or Nathan.

I agree with all that, just think we may spoil it by skimping on not getting adequate cover for Larin up front. We have Mubama who so far seems to offer something a little different from Larin which is fine, but just 2 senior strikers is asking for trouble. But there are still a few hours left, hopefully we are working on something if only another loan.

I think that's what the club is banking on. Keeping Akachukwu shows we have a lot of faith in him too to make a difference which is comforting.
