Well yes - but we didn't. We lost to a team of cloggers who really only wanted a point at home. Again.

Having to stick with Larin when he’s obviously having a crap game has cost us there. Mubama is cack.

They were poor and for the taking. We were sloppy and uninterested. Shit game, shit result.

Missing the firepower up top to slot in when Larin isn't on it, like today. Also think we are missing a bit if dynamism in midfield which is what Charles brought off the bench.

Move on, learn from it and sort it out for Pompey.

No, we have the the second best attacking options off the bench in the league after West Ham.

We struggle when teams don’t press us. We’ve largely countered for our goals this season.

We struggle against the physical teams.

We have no game changing substitutes.

Peretz and Bree have both started this season poorly.

This is the problem yet again. When Larin is having an off day we don't have anyone who can come off the bench and replace him. It's cost us a lot already this season.

TBF you hate 91 football league clubs more than Pompey, so that's not saying much.

Maybe bring him on a bit earlier and let him grow into the game rather than giving him 5 minutes.

The -4 factors into how we might do this season, but there’s absolutely no point in factoring it into judging how we’ve done so far this season.

Forget the -4 then. 2 points from 12 away from home isn’t good enough in any way.

Said before that we need a win away from home soon. Its now a thing that we cant win away. Poor

It's 4 games not 24.

I suppose this patchy start to the season has somewhat dispelled the idea that Tonda is the special one who has cracked football management and we'll be bereft of hope when he gets banned/canned and needs to be replaced.

Someone else could easily come in and match our current output.

Smash the skates and this will be long forgotten.
One of those games where we should have won, didn’t take our chances, and paid the price.

It happens.

Too many players not at their best - Larin, Bree, Matsuki had stinkers...Scienza out of it after injury, Downes quiet...only Wood, JWP and Azaz played well.
Phil Parkinson played his cards much better than Eckert.
No bite or energy - after we scored we should have gone for the jugular. Instead looked slow and ponderous again.
Larin has been great but was not at the races to day - needed to come off after an hour, same with Matsuki.
With much better assets at his disposal we somehow managed to lose that game.
Terrible result - perhaps it will give us a different mindset for away games after the return from the international break - we 100% need wins from away games now.

What a load of crap.

Weak. Ineffective, over passing, can't shoot, awful defending. I dont think we would win a QF playoff.  Tactics is just not good enough.

I am beginning to think we cant win away without spying.

I have just watched a poor Russell Martin performance.  And what is Azaz doing, why wasn't he subbed.

Oh no! Season over! Everyone must bulk up! SR out! Edozie and Fellows should never wear the shirt again!

Saints looked the better team and over a 46 game season it will show in the table.

No one is reacting like that, so stop trying to wind people up

No leo and we lack so much,  hope we can keep a clean sheet one day again soon.

Not a bad performance overall though.

Crap result against a crap side. Too many in this squad won't go in where it hurts against the more physical sides and it costs us. Lightweight generally, which should have been addressed in the window.

Scratching around for positives... 5 of today's 9 games were draws, so we've only lost a point on 10 teams... Every cloud... 🥴

There aren't any, this was far one of the most ineffective away games I have seen.

Did we just think we would walk it

Because our bench is weak.

The guy we signed to be his back up/competition isn't fit for purpose.

Same reason Larin stayed on so long.

The wide replacements were woeful, why are we still having to watch Edozy & Fellows defending for the goal just summed up his performance, absolutely zero desire to prove he should be playing.

Just all too pretty, slow and tactical. That’s 3 pony sides & we’ve got 2 poxy points (the only par result was a draw at Brum). Flat track bullies, look good on our lovely pitch, not got the bollocks when the muck and bullets are flying around.

Anyone saying we're not missing THB are kidding themselves.

It isn’t just that though it’s basic coaching. We are not stopping crosses coming in because we do not get close to the player with the ball. Time and time again we stand off the attacker and allow them to turn, pass, shoot, cross or do what ever they like. For the winner Wood could have stopped the pass coming across goal but stood and watched and that is common continuously.
We don’t concede every game by accident ( we did with THB as well!)

Tonda has to take responsibility for the chaos which ensues every time we are attacked….

The theme is very similar in all games defensively….

Tonda, start proper defensive coaching and if you don’t know how ask the Manager of Wrexham…..

Something needs to change, we cant win enough games playing like that. We cant change out play. Wrexham were there to be beaten and we just missed around doing walking football

Tonda may need to ask Spors to have a look at the free agent list for a forward to bring in and get up to a reasonable level of fitness over this break.  Otherwise, relying solely on Larin for the next 14 weeks could prove exceptionally costly. If he gets injured we will be fucked.

Can’t believe we’re now so weak for wide options to replace Leo that we’ve had to watch 45 mins of that useless cunt Edozie doing fuck all yet again . One of the most ineffective wide players in our history. Worse than De Ridder at the same level . Yet Jay Robinson is out on loan . Madness yet par for the course under these owners. Fucking clueless

Our bench is not weak, most of them would get games in most other Championship teams. God knows who you think is coming to us just to sit on our bench in the second tier.

Yep, never known a saints side just happily allow a team time and space to line up crosses into our box and put zero pressure on the ball. Fucking ridiculous

We dont have a plan B or a strong plan A. Wrexham have a plan A but it works against weak teams like us

Arsenal and Chelsea both goth thumped 3-0 by teams they wouldn't expect to lose to. They'll both bounce back as will we. Yes, our away form is nowhere near good enough and Tonda needs to find a way to improve us on the road. If we take our chances first half we win comfortably today. It wasn't all bad.

Mixed feelings about this one. On on hand we did get through them often enough, with chances to be clear before half time.

On my the other, by being that possessive and waiting for cutting passes, we looked far too careful and failed to dominate where it would really hurt them.

We didn't have enough, and there wasn't enough time, after their winner for us to get back into it. We looked as tired as they did, and we got them to run around more than we had to.

Perhaps Leo staying on would have made the difference. Sam had a couple of moments, but isn't at that level. None of the other subs did much, while Larin had a poorer day, and Azaz looked frustrated.

Downes ensuring he got himself booked really annoys.

Frustrated at the pace of it. While I like a number of their players, we're better but didn't show that today.

Yes, I've noticed these two haven't been the quality they were last year. Bree seems more concerned with his hair style.

With Peretz, are we missing a trick not giving Rambo a game?

Come on, that would have been a totally different result if we'd had Steve De Ridder, Sekou Mara and Sam Amo-Ameyaw to bring on.

It's weak for team claiming to be chasing automatics. You're absolutely right, it will only get weaker if we don't go up. Nothing shocking about that.
