Pompey Takeover Saga

As monumental a tw*t as Neil Allen is, its a perfectly valid point about the Daily Echo still being banned. And the attempts to justify the decision are particularly desperate.

Anyway, as you were. I need a wash after agreeing with something that #factless has written.

the thought of a load of Pikey butch women at Fratton Park makes your stomach churn......................................................., as for the poor lady footballers representing England and fans from outside Pompey having to watch their football there seems a tad unfair..

I don't think the Echo should be banned. Quite happy for the News to be banned though.

Hi Neil and Emma

I hope you are enjoying your twitter conversation together, it reads like a summary of a conversation you had in person a minute or two earlier.

I am sorry to disappoint you both, but our club does not resort to using low end rags like yours as a communication outlet, or the Daily Echo for what it’s worth.

The Echo seem well intended, but let’s face it, the whole idea of a paid for local rag, fuelled by sloppy journalism & bottom of the barrel hacks is as dead in the water. These types of papers are in serial terminal decline and hold no value, are not newsworthy and they’re always the last to know anything.

Ironically, the Echo were given a real scoop and an exclusive story about our new multimillion pound training and academy centre, but they shot their load too early and have learned the hard way as a result... typical small time behaviour you would expect from a little local rag I guess!

Let the L2 PDT club communicate via fans forums and washed up local rags penned by factless fools, we will manage our communications framework in a far more professional manner.

PMSL, don’t try and get in our press box again, that is for proper media outlets.. mugs!

Must say...thoroughly enjoyed this .........

so much so ...that I have read it several times and had a hearty chuckle every time..:)

@pn_neil_allen they also don't like talking to us. Every time I've called for a comment my phone calls remain unreturned.

@pn_Emma_Judd Wouldn't let me in the press box either! A south coast derby with the chief sports writer from both papers sat in the crowd!

@pn_neil_allen ridiculous! Not sure many other multi-million pound businesses choose not to communicate with their customers.

A theme emerges... http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/wire/5778

I wonder how our mate Trev feels these days as he slides quietly into retirement having bought most of Mustique with his fees?

Wonder what ever happened to the issues about the numbers when he finally walked out the door.

Now, who was it that thought it might be a good idea to contact the top 20 Law Firms in the UK asking them to take a no win no fee case against PKF & their new partners? The kind of company that actually distributes outsource work to those top 20 Law Firms?

Wonder how much the fees were to the injured party for all those phone calls?

Wonder where that law suit is now? You know, the 3 million quid one? (Probably the value of the table)

The one that seemed to get bumped by most law firms in Brum & The North East? Christ, it even got turned down by an Expat Lawyer in Qatar so it must have been a bad call.

I'm sure there's ONE madman left in a small law firm who has a mate who is failing as a Barrister who would take the cast iron case on.

I'm sure it was nowt to do with the PDT, as they'd have let it be known they were 3mil short in their era of transparency. After all the last emails on the subject were only a week old.

Yeah I'm sure it was one of the great un-phoned unmentioned bidders that Trev ignored. PDT couldn't need the 3mil so obviously not them

Obviously the 3mil cannot have been that important as we've heard nowt about it.

Yep that one will fade away into the annals of rumours and speculation without a doubt

Does anybody in Portsmouth actually pay for anything themselves? It's like an ingrained culture, to see what you can scam without paying. What Hall is doing is begging. No dignity.

I might be wrong here, but just supposing Micah Hall went into administration. Could he just pay £80 (0.4p in the £), and then change his name to Micah Hall 2013? Could that work?

WTF?

I have no idea what phil has posted, no clue at all.

Phil, you don't make sense at the best of times, but that post is just inane rambling in your usual I don't know feck all way!

Perhaps he learnt something interesting from an expat lawyer in Qatar? After all, if you want a barrister to take your brief you have to supply them with _some_ information first?

Phil alluded to this a lot of pages back . It went on the lines of something to do with taking legal action about a 3m shortfall that was drawn out just before the takeover. Something on those lines. Phil does talk in rhymes and the same flowery terms as Stuart Hall on 5livesports (not in the Saville way) but is well informed

Hall claimed at the time of his blog that he wasn't worried about threats of a court case. McInnes had promised to underwrite his legal costs if necessary. And then there was a fighting fund started as well. And then he was given a job at PFC as a reward for hs blogs, that I suspect pays pretty well. So it is hard to believe that a legal bill of £15-20k will now bankrupt him.

The News article makes it sound as if he won his case but the other side won't pay the costs they're supposed to. In fact the case never got to court, and costs have not been awarded. Hall's costs are merely those of using an expensive lawyer to prepare for a possible court case that never proceeded.

I don't think so Ken, that would suggest that a slightly different version of events is being spun to gain sympathy.

Furthermore I find it difficult to believe that anyone would try to influence the easily-led and make them lap up every dubious story given to them as fact.

Then again I only see the good in people.

Money for players. Move aside creditors. Same old story. Anyone doing business with Pompey on credit terms needs a lobotomy. Admin #4. Coming to a pox riddled, sister bothering bankrupt excuse for a City within 18 months. It's the Comedy Show of the Year. League 2 and still going backwards. One more deserved relegation and I think that's Karma.

Let's see how our Pompey fans have reacted to the 3-2 victory yesterday evening...

STAINS W@NKER

Because a 41 year old man can get so angry he had to use capitals, that's worth a bitterometer rating of 9/10.

Source: Fans Online, User: pompeyhighlander

Against the likes of Scotland, surely Hodgson should be selecting a squad of emerging young players who have real potential at international level. (Preferably footballers rather than hoofball specialists.)

He had to include that bit in the brackets didn't he. 7/10 on the bitteromter

Source: Twitter, User: Pompey Steeler

Congrats to Rickie Lambert for scoring the first ever England goal that I've refused to celebrate. Scummer.

Well you can at least celebrate an 8/10 on the bitterometer

Source: Fans Online, User: Blood

t f';king dirty scummer won me £60, going to be sh1t having to collect it tomorrow knowing that ***** won it for me

Ouch. 60 Quid he'd rather use to wipe his arse. 7/10 on the bitterometer.

but the winner, with a WHOLE paragraph of pure bitterness, comes on our most favourite and secretive rival website...

Sorry to say Lambert was a waste of a valuable place that should have been used for a rising talent. 31 years old, one season in the Premier league: he's still a Championship-level, old-fashioned centre forward and he scored a Championship level goal against a side that would struggle in the Championship. There is no way on this earth that he is of high enough standard to play in a competitive match for England and, at 31, even if he was, he's to old to be starting an international career for a country with the international standing of England.

I'm sorry to say that this post rates an outstanding 10/10 on the bitterometer

I suspect he's been watching England matches through his 'special' Pompey watching glasses if he thinks that England have an international standing!

What exactly have England done in the last 47 years apart from consistently fail to deliver anything!

I do love the irony of all those skate fans advocating using the yoof!

Supporting England, bothering to watch the game, yet not celebrating an England goal because it has been scored by a player from a certain club?? - that sort of stunt was mainly reserved for the National Front, and is the first sign that severe mental illness is beyond help.

I'm no fan of that nasty Cole/Terry gang, but I've just not bothered to watch them, rather than boo when they win a game for England.

Fair play to most of the few, rather surprisingly there has been a lot of praise for SRL on The News site - mainly because what he did was fricking amazing and difficult to criticise!

Though I suspect we should be due a new version from the east sometime soon -

pompey's own england star Alex created the winner by making the space for the former Blackpool, Macclesfield, Stockport, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers man to accidentally deflect a corner into the empty net.

As for pompey fans being selective about whether a victory is worthy because they are picky about how it was won - oh the irony!

the more bitter the skate post the bigger my smile. Love the fact it has got under their skin and that they will never be able to take it away from the lad, the club and the fans. Great moment actually made better by the skates trying to undermine it.

The biggest team in Division 4. What a crowd puller they are.

Thats a bit harsh Hatch, the people of Morecambe are clearly over-awed at the spectacle, going to fatpipes and seeing all those empty seats its too much for them, even though it is their cup final.

Fair play to Morecambe, ensuring the skates will make a loss on the away stand overheads, they will have to lay on more stewards and staff than there will be fans, my hat comes off to them.

1,500 - 2,000 paying customers is where I expect them to settle at after selling the season tickets. I'm sure that's not what's in their business plan though. There are gonna be a few skid marks in trousers if they don't see a significant increase between now and Saturday, and it will be all-out nappy time if they don't win the game.

And so the new star on the pitch at Fatpipes is Painter, who has joined the wise-spending League Two club of the moment after being released from high-flying, high-spending Brighton and has therefore accepted a massive wage cut to play at the South Coast's own Wembley.

Or maybe January can't come soon enough for Pompey's treasury..
