"We are at home, it should be a cracking crowd yet again, I know there is a deal on tickets for the next three games where you can bring someone along with you for half price, or season ticket holders can bring someone for £7.50, so I hope everyone comes along and recreates the atmosphere that we had last week.".

Said mr Adkins with a gun pointed at his head by the PR manager

And where are all the people who were claiming his contract ended in mid-August now, huh ?

Admittedly Christ only knows how he got that extension for the third year, but all football contracts over 1 year end on July 1st, so once he was still here on July 2nd he wasn't going anywhere.

I feel very very sorry for Stockport, they must be cack. As long as he doesn't end up at Newport County I won't care.

Isn't it about time for the prof to pop up and chide us for being so beastly to poor Anthony and tell us how, if we only gave him a chance, he could prove to be a really useful player? The thread's more than two hours old now, after all.

Think it speaks volumes when on the OS Adkins is saying he has only been here 3 and a half weeks and they are still assessing the players then Pulis is the first one sent out during the assessment period !!!

So Stockport are the desperate one.

This player is the last hanger on for me from Lowe's Last Stand. The day he leaves will be a true watershed moment.

(I don't include Wotton in that, after all. He played in a succesful Wembley final.)

We can't possibly have exercised an option to keep him for another year without an incentive to do so. I'd guess his dad's paying his wages.

Hmmm

We need a striker as cover on loan....

So, who do Stoke have (left that isn't at Skates) that we could borrow in return for "the favour"

Didn't he have a game for the reserves where he was MOM a while back? But then got injured and was out for ages again I think.

1 good performance in how ever many years is not good enough but maybe if he gets the right opertunity at the right club he will get the chance to actually earn the money he is paid to hang around?

OS talk - I think you'll find that sometimes a little spin goes a long way when trying to offload a player to another unsuspecting club!

I was about to say something similar myself - so many people commenting who have probably not even seen him play (me included). However, there does appear to be something really fishy about this guy (apart from being a trainee down the road I mean). This guy is a midfielder who in 8 years has still to find the net. I can only trace one assist in that time too. The only person who seems to rate him is his Dad who takes him on and then loans him out - he certainly very rarely picked him for his own teams! 17 appearances in 8 years is hardly impressive. I think I could manage that even in my 50's. So how come this guy is a professional footballer? It's like he does not WANT to play. Any thoughts?

Still, at 26 he is approaching the peak of his career and still has probably 8 years left before he hangs up his boots... :~0

Im sure I saw it on here by a poster that watched (claimed to watch) and not the OS. could of been his dad though so pinch of salt and all that. Was only the once too!! You would have thought there would have been more of a sign in the amount of time he has been with us.

he is just one more player to add to stockport's already record number of players to play for an english club. they hold the record having had 1284 player's sincetheir inception.

in fact pulis will be presented with a certificate (No. 1285) next week, the first 'new' member of their brand new SCAN scheme. 'SCAN', a new initiative similar to the E&W cricket sceme. I quite like the idea.

back to pulis, last week Gills let in 7 (SEVEN) goals, add antony pulis to the mix and they win. i know that he scored but last week any t,d and h could have.

So people still want to rubbbish Pulis, despite most of them never having seen him play. He goes on loan and scores in his firstgame but even that has to be put down.

Fact is that SFC had him on a 2-yr contract with an option for a 3rd year and have taken up the option. That suggests that the professionals who work for the club may know something that the average fan doesn't know.

Good luck to him, and its time to get off his back.

No.

If the professionals knew something we didn't, he wouldn't be out on loan. He's 25 (26?) when exactly is he supposed to improve?

i understood that his contract (only) just overlapped the planned appointment of his dad as our manager. although info gleaned from this site, it fits and non-appearances added to his failed loan last season does not really require 'professinal' insight to see why he has become a figure of fun. it's not really personal prof, just football fans being football fans.
