Hop Nicola has told him that Southampton is on the doorstep from London, he could put a shift in at SMS and be up in the bright lights by early evening ready to wine and dine his other half. Much better than just a short drive in heavy traffic between Chilworth and Staplewood. It's all a matter of dressing the Saints package to suit the target. Cortese is Italian, the italians are big into family get togethers, it is currently the holiday season and 45 deg C over there, so where would you rather be this chilly August morning, Staplewood or Brindisi. No more to it than that in my view. He won't be coming back with any new signings just a tweaked up tan ready for his TV appearances at the weekend.
